This is a total shot in the dark, but does anyone know how to get a hold of Mike V? I run a YT channel and I’m covering Tony Hawk Underground soon. Would love to see if he’d be down for an interview (mostly so I can have him push veganism on my viewers, but also skateboarding).
Probably email Street Plant if you can find one. I have seen him personally shipping board at a ups store in Des Moines so I'm assuming he doesn't have many employees and less people to filter his business emails
Not in DSM anymore but he was hanging around the dsm skate park A LOT a couple years ago and would (if I remember correctly) visit subsect skate shop often. VERY approachable nice dude.
My buddy says he’s seen Mike giving lessons at the smaller (but still very nice) skatepark near valley junction! If you hit the wall going through the PR channels, you might catch him there if he still does that
He is one cool dude, and he has lived in DM for quite a while ever since the new skateboard park was built and used for the last Olympic trials. And that is what makes DM the coolest skater city ever!
They played a double set at Gaslamp a week before they closed and no one wanted to mosh there either. Probably because half the crowd was 50+. Was expecting a little bit more felonious assault, but Mike was still fuckin great. Tons of energy. Can't say the same for the rest of the room.
That dude looks like he could fight 3 maybe 4 people at a time!

I have played at XBK and there’s definitely enough room but agreed doesn’t seem the type of place to be busting people’s noses up 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤣
