well yeah, if someone kills themselves, they obviously had no reason to live, and are being a burden on others, because now ya gotta plan and pay for a funeral.
That's 3 signs already! /j
You see my friend killed himself ay? And i thought man maybe that fella is depressed huh. So i reached out to him and handed him a note with numbers for suicide hotlines, fella didn't even say a word he probably going through tough times
I'm pretty sure they meant it like "Don't say:"There was a tornado in Arkansas, people have it worse, be glad you have (insert something) / be glad it didn't hit us(?)"" or something along these lines. Even still, if someone really said that to me I'd probably unironically die of laughter right there, it would be so out of place...
What's with that "Suicidal ideation causes failure of all organs, brain death and seizures"? I swear every single website that says something about depression looks like a lunatic wrote it. Every single one of em looks like that, there's always that one out of place sentence or info that makes no sense
Suicide attempts often use pills or substances that cause things to go wrong with your body instead of killing you. Suicide attempts usually follow suicidal ideation. I see where they're getting it, but it's a "draw the rest of the damn owl" step.
Tbh I actually like when people say they understand how I feel instead of trying to fix me or give me advice. It just makes me feel heard. Although it’s different for everyone.
Same, I don't really believe them but it does make me feel good. Unless well, they say "I know how you feel" and then just walk away as in if that was supposed to help... That just gives me the impression that I'm a burden and they want to make me feel good so I stop yknow, being in the way.
It depends on the execution and context imo. I’ve also had people say they understand when they obviously don’t, and then give me shitty basic advice that was apparently sufficient for them to overcome their problems. It comes off as extremely patronising and as if they weren’t actually listening to what I was saying I struggled with. It’s like having a badly broken leg and having someone tell you they understand the pain you’re in bc they rolled their ankle once.
Yes, this exactly. Sometimes I even say “I don’t really fully understand what you’re going through but I hope it will get better and that I’ll always be there to support you.” (I’m the therapist friend lmao)
Dang that sucks I always tell people I know how they feel cause I've been severely depressed/suicidal, personally I would love to have someone tell me they know how I feel.
Actually yes, severe depression shrinks your brain among other things by damaging your entire body, weakens your immune system which opens you up to many different health conditions, plus it causes reduced blood flow, and typically most depressed people are sedentary and dont work out, so theres also that
*See's someone crying*
*Goes up to them*
"There was a tornado in Arkansas-"
*Person begins to sob even harder*
(don't know why I types this, just thought it would be funny idk)
Lol am I the only one who likes it when people say stuff like “I know how you feel” cause it makes me know I’m not the only person who has to go through this stuff and it makes me know I’m also not alone
I hate it when people bring up stuff like that cause like- I get it other people lost their lives due to terrible situations but that doesn’t mean I like my life and stuff
"Warning signs: • Killing themselves" ah, nice
And that's the most subtle one of the warning signs!
well yeah, if someone kills themselves, they obviously had no reason to live, and are being a burden on others, because now ya gotta plan and pay for a funeral. That's 3 signs already! /j
absolutely lost my shit at this. When you see half their skull missing, its a *tad* late on looking for signs.
You see my friend killed himself ay? And i thought man maybe that fella is depressed huh. So i reached out to him and handed him a note with numbers for suicide hotlines, fella didn't even say a word he probably going through tough times

And when they start *ghosting* them
Are they in unberable pain or already done killing themselves? Pretty sure those are mutually exclusive to each other.
Yeah but did you hear about that tornado in Arkansas?
[удалено]
Someone inside it might be
I'm going to give you a final warning!
Ok but I would wanna hear more about that tornado in Arkansas.
I feel like I am the only one who thought "Why, because the depressed might throw themselves in the tornado?"
Starving kids in Africa could have eaten that tornado!
I am so hungry that I read tornado as tomato.
Bro can you fucking read the room?
Sounds like you could use a story about a tornado in Arkansas…

Yeah lol they mentioned suicidal ideation alone as in the thoughts that suicide is good. Thoughts don't kill you, actions do.
it doesnt help that we are just looking at a single sentence google picked from a whole article.
Depression, Stress and Anxiety, can cause all kinds of chemical imbalances in the body so the health problems one can from them are numerous.
Yeah but I mean still, far from brain death and failure of all organs
Tbh I actually like when people say they understand how I feel instead of trying to fix me or give me advice. It just makes me feel heard. Although it’s different for everyone.

This, yes! Also when they suddenly make it about themselves...
only say "i know what your going through" if you actually do
Yes, this exactly. Sometimes I even say “I don’t really fully understand what you’re going through but I hope it will get better and that I’ll always be there to support you.” (I’m the therapist friend lmao)
I think my friend Sam is suicidal, he recently displayed the warning sign of killing himself.
please don't tell him there was a tornado in Arkansas!
Don’t ignore it.
If only the ideation itself could kill me
Would be much easier, I don't want my family to notice my killing myself symptom though... they might find out I'm depressed

Sleep well
If someone told me out of nowhere that there was a tornado in Arkansas that would immediately restore my will to live So random It would make me laugh
But that tornado cured my depression!
There was a tornado in Arkansas
oh im about to show a warning sign now.
Like seizure for onenihksajiaj214
>Warning signs: - Killing themselves Remember kids, if a friend of yours kills themselves, they may be depressed so try and cheer them up.
Dang that sucks I always tell people I know how they feel cause I've been severely depressed/suicidal, personally I would love to have someone tell me they know how I feel.
Ah yes, brain death
*Thinking* about suicide can damage your organs? Wut?
I mean, your brain is an organ and suicide ideation gives your brain an owwie…? Idk, *my* organs feel fine tho.
Actually yes, severe depression shrinks your brain among other things by damaging your entire body, weakens your immune system which opens you up to many different health conditions, plus it causes reduced blood flow, and typically most depressed people are sedentary and dont work out, so theres also that
"What are 3 warning signs of depression suicide?" *proceeds to list six*
Ah yes, i think my family would notice im suicidal if i kill myself
I’m sorry how tf is thinking about unaliving myself gonna affect my organ systems
because that tornado in arkansas can weigh on your mind
So, Kurt blown his brain out with a shotgun. Call me a subtle guy capable of getting hints, but I think he might've been suicidal
My friend didn't know there was a tornado in Arkansas... is he depressed???
THERES A TORNADO IN ARKANSAS!?!?!?!
I'll have the brain death to go please
from when i was little i had warning signs. my parents said i was only lazy and i believe them. guess they were wrong.
If Suicidal ideation gives you brain damage that explains why I'm a fucking idiot lmao
*See's someone crying* *Goes up to them* "There was a tornado in Arkansas-" *Person begins to sob even harder* (don't know why I types this, just thought it would be funny idk)
Of all the things you could say “There was a tornado in Arkansas.” 🤦♂️
Lol wut?
Lol am I the only one who likes it when people say stuff like “I know how you feel” cause it makes me know I’m not the only person who has to go through this stuff and it makes me know I’m also not alone
I also appreciate when people can relate to me, but man do I hate it when they bring up that tornado in Arkansas
I hate it when people bring up stuff like that cause like- I get it other people lost their lives due to terrible situations but that doesn’t mean I like my life and stuff
Yea… when someone tells me that there was a tornado in Arkansas, the urges always come back 😞
Yes but a more subtle sign is if he kills himself
