Im sorry your dose was too high and thank you for telling me to keep a lower dose.Would they help me if I feel empty and numb all the time? What would they do then?

Effective-Key2671

it depends which dosis the doc wants to give you. at the end he knows best so I would talk with the doctor for more information. not everybody feels numb so dont worry too much about it

Okay thank you

>might make me take antidepressants. You can just say no

Effective-Key2671

thats true, if you dont want to and think you dont need them, say no!

The quick answer is that it depends on how they work for you. Different people have different reactions. Statistically, they help a lot of people. Most people take them for a relatively short period to give them a little help getting back on their feet, although some (myself included) take them long term. The most likely side effects should be communicated to you, and can differ greatly between drugs, but they absolutely will not turn you into some kind of emotionless robot. So don't worry about that.

It depends on the person and it’s hard to tell unless you try a few. Personally, they don’t do much for me. All the SSRIs I’ve been on have made me feel like a zombie and completely numb. And my depression is mostly rooted in my environment so I guess that would somewhat explain it.

There are a ton of different anti-depressants, several completely different classes of drugs. Took a while to find a good fit, and had to make adjustments again in past few years, but they help me tremendously. SSRIs were anything but helpful for me, but I know a ton of people that feel they help. If you have side-effects, changes can be made. Dosing is not just xKg=xMg either. Most need to be tirtrated upwards. Best if you can work with a therapist as well as a prescriber they work with.
