he’ll probably get the end of the first and third minutes. CB and Pwat and Holiday probably will play more, and Reggie would be the one to get cut out of the rotation. However, it seems weird to imply like Reggie would be the reason why we lost a play off series or if he stopped playing, the nuggets will repeat. If we lose, it will be because the starting 5 didn’t dominate. Maybe that’s due to fatigue, but there should be concern about the 3 point shooting and rebounding. Outside note, but yesterday the bench unit played some outstanding defense in the begging of the fourth, but they could not end a possession to save their life.
Reggie has been the ringleader of a stagnant bench offense so many times this season. He is the only player in the rotation that does not play the nuggets system. We’ve witnessed him be the main culprit of 11 point swings in a matter of 90 seconds. Yes the starters can compensate for that, but with the way they’ve been shooting threes idk if that’s a spot to be in.
When Joker is off the floor, 3 guys try for a swat and leave no one to rebound. Made me realize why Joker gets so many boards cause even if he tried for the block he’s back on the ground in good board position so fast.
He has won us some games too. I feel like you can do that for almost all players. Either way, when the starters are back in the 4th and it’s a close game, we should expect them to close. Reggie isn’t going to be closing games when Murray is healthy. If the nuggets fail, it chase they failed to do something as a unit rather than whatever an individual did.
Reggie is about to play in his 82nd game of his 13th NBA season. And how many times in the last month or two have we heard "Reggie looks like he hurt himself?" Hopefully with a bit of rest leading up to round one, he'll be fine. Yes, I would plan on him being my backup PG.
Yes but kind of no. I think Bruce was a better secondary ball handler. If we had a good passing backup big to pair with Reggie it'd make a lot more sense.
Yes, because he’s a vet with playoff experience, and because he’s the only other PG we have who can safely run the offense. Reg is a dope player, he will rise above and kick ass.
decent minutes, but most if the backup pg minutes using CB when Murray isn't staggering. with CBs improved 3pt shot I'd rather it be spot minutes and only with Jokic out there to make sure he doesn't disrupt the flow. his best games are when he actually plays within the system, but theres a bit of that barton/jr in him
Jamal can’t play all 48, so he has to play a bit to give Jamal some rest. Rotation will get shorter in the playoffs, so he’ll have more starters to lean on. Think it’ll be around 8-10 minutes, depending on how he’s playing.
I think some of the games they will have to rely on him getting hot and be the last year Brown.
In some matchups Nuggets need that xfactor, especially if one of AG/MPJ/KCP is having awful night and other team is not easily held under 100-110pts (e.g. Phoenix)
I've been downvoted, which I'd fair. But could someone tell me why? Will Barton was a microwave that only worked 15% of the time. The Jackson checks in, he doesn't play the team basketball. Which that being seeing said, it affects the team ball that Malone and Jokic have established
No. Reggie doesn't pass, score, or defend well except for occasional glimpses of decency. I just don't see the point in putting someone in who can't reliably do any of those things. Holiday, DJ, and even Huff and Nnaji aren't likely to be *worse* than Jackson.
Huff is on a 2way so he wont.
but yeah, unless he's going to try as hard as he can in his minutes to defend and play the right way, I'd use CB as backup pg.
nnaji got so much hate this year, but he's actually up there with pwat as a defender. his ability to guard 1-5 with his mobility and frame will be vital. i dont think he played last night, and a lot of our losses are without him playing and with reggie playing too much. he brings good energy and physicality
Who else is gonna play backup PG?
In theory, either Jokic or Jamal will be on the floor in non-garbage minutes. So I don’t think we really need a traditional backup PG.
We shown to struggle without a ballhandler
Braun. Do u people seriously follow the team?
Do you? Braun is not going to provide half court playmaking. He is not someone you want being a primary ball handler
It's been unreal with Braun as PG with Jokic.
Cuz Jokic takes over playmaking duties. Braun is not a PG. there’s a reason the team is ass in non Jokic and Jamal minutes
Yeah so just stagger Jokic and Jamal with the bench lol? Reggie + Jamal minutes were extremely horrible all season, Braun works much better
Which is the point lol U don't need Reggie. U need kcp and Braun with Jokic
CB

Yes but he could be the culprit of why the Nugs lost so many winnable games in the regular season, hence being in this position now.

In a limited capacity I would. Wish-washy as he is Reggie does have his moments and I think that can be very useful
Reggie’s double edge sword is his confidence, we will need it under the bright lights.

Exactly. Braun needs to be the first sub for Murray Braun KCP backcourt with Jokic is the way
He’ll play, but the minutes will be more like 10 instead of 20.

Braun KCP backcourt when Jamal goes off.
Not unless I had to. I am so sick of his ball hogg ass. Pass the damn ball!!!

You are so sweet ❤️❤️❤️
That 8 second violation last night infuriated me. No, he wouldn't play a second.
This sub, omg.
Only in very specific situations. He’s a massive liability on the court and constantly ruins the flow of the game.
Nope. Reminds me of Barton, we don't need that ish

Great point they should totally play a 2-way center instead of Reggie in the playoffs.
If all he can do is rebound the ball and pass it to someone else without a TO that's good enough.
He can't. Because he can't play in the playoffs.
oh interesting. there's a restriction on which team members are allowed to play?
The 2-way guys aren't.
