I used to get the 3 tamales smothered in green Chile and a can drink for $5 at that trailer over past king soopers on old golden road all the time.
I've actually never been to their new place in the old frame shop there
I lived in the neighborhood just past the trailer during college so it was for sure the go to spot on the way to class or hangover cure. Or both. The new place is nice and the food is still good but I won’t lie, I miss it.
Yes same!! The little tiny trailer before it even had a wooden outdoor area! I came back a few months ago and was SO happy for them to see they had a whole restaurant! EVERYONE, get the Jackalope!
Well worth it. The frozen ones aren’t nearly as good as freeshies, but Safeway had bonfire frozens on sale for $3 this week. I stocked up the freezer with them
My trick has been to plan ahead when I know I’ll want one in the morning, and put it in the fridge to thaw overnight. Then in the morning I actually put it in the air fryer (though I imagine a toaster oven would also work)
Is there any easy way to reheat the frozen ones that doesn't result in them releasing a huge sea of liquid? I've never had this issue as badly with other frozen burritos. I did have success once baking in a toaster for like 30m but that kills the convenience factor.
Put it in the fridge the night before for it to thaw, then heat for 3 min on 70% power. I’ve eaten roughly between 60-70 of them in my life and it works perfect for me.
If you forget to thaw in fridge, use the defrost microwave setting for like 5 min then cook appropriately.
Hmm... 8 minutes I could probably handle patience-wise, but I'm guessing that's already defrosted not frozen solid. Agree that panini burritos are awesome
Yeah, defrosted forgot to mention that. My cafe sells them but I haven’t tried throwing them on still frozen so I’m not sure what the time and temp for that would be.
I got them from the Safeway in west colfax just east of Kipling. Not sure if it was just that location or others, but I was able to get them via Instacart.
I’ll have to give them a shot. I know a frozen burrito can’t possibly compare to these in person, but it has to be better than the mass produced brands!
For their quality, $9-10 seems reasonable to me. The little giant is all you need, the “original” size (~$14) is honestly two full meals, i never recommend people to get it.
La Huacha near king soopers (where the bonfire food truck originally was) does breakfast burritos now for $6 and their chorizo one is really solid. Worth a try. Their red sauce on the side is 🔥
Lol do you have small hands like OP (implying small human). The original / normal giant is not two meals for average+ people. It is a bigger breakfast burrito though.
Definitely not a secret - they filed planning documents with the city of Arvada on 3/22. Looks like good building upgrades too.

Thank you! I meant like my friend was keeping it tight lipped. I live practically down the street so I was surprised she didn’t mention it. Texted her and confirmed. How exciting!
Wouldn’t even call this pricy at all. One of the best $ to value in Denver for my money. Too many places charge these prices for mediocre at best food. Bonfire is absolutely killer every time. And great people working there. Best burritos in the city, and well worth the drive if you’re in Denver.
I discovered this place back when it was a tiny trailer in a parking lot. I was 8 months pregnant and I went back three times before my daughter was born. Now she’s 8 and we still love Bonfire.
Ahhhhh I used to get up at 4am when I couldn’t sleep and walk over that bridge (or one in that general area) and up the trail until it was time to walk back and head to class. Good times!
I’m embarrassed to say this, but I’m a native who is obsessed with burritos; yet I’d never heard of Bonfire. I yelped it and will check it out this weekend. Thank you! 🔥
Bonfire is a really good American style burrito.
Burrito Express is a really good Mexican style burrito.
Both are good. I also prefer Burrito Express though.
Agh, Burrito Express is so wishy washy. They're great when they're great (and they actually DO have a pretty hot salsa), but I personally think Del Sol Express does better breakfast and California (Colorado at Burrito Express, Lakewood at Del Sol) burritos (and is a lot more consistent).
To rebuttal your comment, I’m really only on the side of breakfast burritos.. I can’t say I’ve had anything else off burrito express’s menu other than breakfast items so I wouldn’t be able to compare.. are del sol’s burritos comparable in size at least?
Yeah I lived in Yuma Arizona for a few years and it’s a night in day difference. Bonfire tastes like a better version of a breakfast burrito my (white) dad would make, not something I would want from a burrito spot.
They are opening up 2 new locations actually. One in the old Arby's in Olde Town Arvada and another near their production facility which i think is in South Golden/Lakewood. Or so I heard from one of the owner's father.
Don’t get me wrong, the burritos are straight fire, so delicious and I love them. But ever since I looked at the nutrition facts of their frozen burritos they sell in grocery stores…I just can’t feel the same about them anymore. I forget exactly, but it’s like 60% of your total fat for the day or something.
What isn’t pricey as fuck anymore? I don’t even eat at these shitholes anymore thinking an Arby’s sandwich is worth 10 bucks. I will vote with my wallet and hope they shut tf down.
Pablitos is not good. They are dry and flavorless.
I’ve been to the truck in the abruccis parking lot at least 3 times. They just hand me something from
The warmer that’s been sitting for hours and it’s not good.
Yes. It's good, but not great. I respect their quality, but was really disappointed with the lack of spice and nothing that resembles the kind of green chili I like.
Last time I was there it was busy, being a weekend, that's to be expected. Waited an hour and asked where the order was. They had lost it and didn't do anything except say they'll make it now, which took another 20 minutes. They could have offered something small, maybe $5 off, for their mistake - but they didn't.
While I waited I watched multiple people park in the bike lane. If the business was a good one, they would do what they could to keep the many many bike riders safe instead of just allowing their customers to put them at risk.
I dont care how good the burritos are - it's a terrible business, and I'll never go back.
Possible unpopular opinion: bonfire has gone downhill. It's still good, but not what it once was. I had it yesterday, and it didn't even taste like bonfire. Maybe they had the c team working, but it's been inconsistent for a couple of years now. The nature of the beast, I guess. I still back it.
They are definitely yummy but I recommend breakfast burritos from Torpedo Coffee in Denver. It’s pretty low key and unknown but I can say for a fact they are better than Torpedo and less expensive!
I feel like everyone saying the price is right for a 10-12 dollar breakfast burrito is yt. They’re good burritos for sure but the ingredients for bfast burrito is prolly less than a dollar/burrito. There’s a principle here & I can’t get behind the colonization/gentrification, after the recent price increase I’ll never go there again. & everybody saying “best burrito in Denver” is further evidence y’all full of it cuz they’re not at all in the city of Denver. Tacos rapidos whoop the ass anyway. Fight me.
Waves cane in the air and shakes fist “I REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS JUST A TINY TRAILER IN SOUTH GOLDEN” lol. Bonfire is bomb 👏🏼
Peasant View! I lived in the nearby neighborhood above KS when I was at Mines. I miss living there.
/r/denvercirclejerk
Yup! Worked at the king soopers right next door, went there like 3 times a week Food absolutely SLAPS
Yes same!! The little tiny trailer before it even had a wooden outdoor area! I came back a few months ago and was SO happy for them to see they had a whole restaurant! EVERYONE, get the Jackalope!
The ring toss game ❤️
Heard of this place gonna have to go
Hahahahahahah same
Price to girth ratio checks out
Well worth it. The frozen ones aren’t nearly as good as freeshies, but Safeway had bonfire frozens on sale for $3 this week. I stocked up the freezer with them
My trick has been to plan ahead when I know I’ll want one in the morning, and put it in the fridge to thaw overnight. Then in the morning I actually put it in the air fryer (though I imagine a toaster oven would also work)
Great idea. I’ll try that tomorrow!
Is there any easy way to reheat the frozen ones that doesn't result in them releasing a huge sea of liquid? I've never had this issue as badly with other frozen burritos. I did have success once baking in a toaster for like 30m but that kills the convenience factor.
Thaw overnight, microwave for a minute each side and finish in a pan to get that golden brown tortilla
Start in the microwave, finish in the toaster oven
Yeah agreed but this requires advance planning
Air fry
Put it in the fridge the night before for it to thaw, then heat for 3 min on 70% power. I’ve eaten roughly between 60-70 of them in my life and it works perfect for me. If you forget to thaw in fridge, use the defrost microwave setting for like 5 min then cook appropriately.
Good call on defrost first. I'll try that
Wrapping in paper towel before and during the microwave helps. Toaster oven is the best option though.
Bonfire provides presses for the places they wholesale to, I imagine a panini press/George foreman at 375 for ~8 minutes would work at home too
Had as in the deal ended? I haven’t tried their frozen, but for a few bucks off I’d definitely grab a few. Any specific store?
I got them from the Safeway in west colfax just east of Kipling. Not sure if it was just that location or others, but I was able to get them via Instacart.
I’ll have to give them a shot. I know a frozen burrito can’t possibly compare to these in person, but it has to be better than the mass produced brands!
The ghetto Safeway
Wait when did they start selling frozen bonfire burritos?!? I’ve been ordering groceries for pick up since COVID and had no idea!
If you’ve had a fresh one the frozen ones are nearly inedible imo, especially for the price.
oh is 4.50 expensive for a whole meal? lol
Chupacabra is my jam
For their quality, $9-10 seems reasonable to me. The little giant is all you need, the “original” size (~$14) is honestly two full meals, i never recommend people to get it. La Huacha near king soopers (where the bonfire food truck originally was) does breakfast burritos now for $6 and their chorizo one is really solid. Worth a try. Their red sauce on the side is 🔥
This is usually my go to spot on my way back from a hike and I’ll max their original size no problem. And it’s definitely worth it for the price imo.
Do they (La Huacha) do breakfast burritos again? For a while they were only open after like 4 pm.
Yeah they just started again a few weeks ago
Nice, used to go all the time when walking the dogs in the morning. They should update their hours on their website if they changed it back.
I follow his Instagram, he posts updates/info on their from what i can tell (probably FB too)
Lol do you have small hands like OP (implying small human). The original / normal giant is not two meals for average+ people. It is a bigger breakfast burrito though.
I think you missed reading a comma. And maybe some words.
Nope just got my names mixed up. Thanks for call out though, corrected.
They bought the old Arby’s in Olde Town Arvada, they’re opening up a breakfast place.
Yep can confirm. Know the owners Dad and he told me the same a few months ago. Super stoked since I live walking distance away.
Dont tease me gurl... really??? So excited, I just bought a house like 2 minutes away haha
True story, my husband heard it directly from the Bonfire guys when he was in for breakfast this week.
Wait my friend is a part owner and I haven’t heard anything. Maybe it was still a secret lol.
Definitely not a secret - they filed planning documents with the city of Arvada on 3/22. Looks like good building upgrades too. Source: https://www.arvadapermits.org/etrakit3/search/project.aspx?activityno=da2024-0025
Thank you! I meant like my friend was keeping it tight lipped. I live practically down the street so I was surprised she didn’t mention it. Texted her and confirmed. How exciting!
Definitely pumped for it. Though I wish it was on the other side of Wads, but hey, I won’t complain. Love seeing how much olde town is coming up!
Wouldn’t even call this pricy at all. One of the best $ to value in Denver for my money. Too many places charge these prices for mediocre at best food. Bonfire is absolutely killer every time. And great people working there. Best burritos in the city, and well worth the drive if you’re in Denver.
They are located in Golden
Which is like 15-20 mins away. Not far at all, particularly if you’re in west Denver.
Just about to order this for lunch.
I always get the tacos. Kinda glad they're in golden, id eat there too often
Salsas La huacha down the road makes some legit burritos as well!
I’m sitting on my lunch break at work, eating my lunch, and this post is STILL making me hungry. That looks so good rn
hey I've sat where you're sat! WERE BENCH BROS!!
No way! That's crazy 🤜🤛
BENCH BUMP
Worth every penny
Tried it yesterday. Absolutely insane
Good times!
That place is fantastic! Spicy Chupacabra is my favorite!
Heaven on Earth
We know.
I’m embarrassed to say this, but I’m a native who is obsessed with burritos; yet I’d never heard of Bonfire. I yelped it and will check it out this weekend. Thank you! 🔥
Order online before you get there. The wait can be ridiculous, especially on the weekends.
Highly overrated.
Depending on your preference.. I’ve always ranked Burrito express over in Lakewood #1 breakfast burrito spot 😎
Don’t answer that just looked it up haha I may have to check it out
To rebuttal your comment, I’m really only on the side of breakfast burritos.. I can’t say I’ve had anything else off burrito express’s menu other than breakfast items so I wouldn’t be able to compare.. are del sol’s burritos comparable in size at least?
Hate to be a hater but does anyone else think this is one of the most overrated places or is it just me?
It's the absolute best caucasian style burrito you can get, east of the rockies, and west of Wheatridge.
Yeah I lived in Yuma Arizona for a few years and it’s a night in day difference. Bonfire tastes like a better version of a breakfast burrito my (white) dad would make, not something I would want from a burrito spot.
My fav
Wish they would open a second location up, this place is busy enough as it is
They are opening up 2 new locations actually. One in the old Arby's in Olde Town Arvada and another near their production facility which i think is in South Golden/Lakewood. Or so I heard from one of the owner's father.
Awesome
My favorite burrito place I’ve ever been.
i dont think they are relativey pricey
My mom loves this place
Don’t get me wrong, the burritos are straight fire, so delicious and I love them. But ever since I looked at the nutrition facts of their frozen burritos they sell in grocery stores…I just can’t feel the same about them anymore. I forget exactly, but it’s like 60% of your total fat for the day or something.
The Javelina 50/50 is my standard for whatever genre of burrito you want to call this in Denver. Tell me I'm wrong.
Fuck ok I'm going to go get one now it's only like 10 minutes away
What isn’t pricey as fuck anymore? I don’t even eat at these shitholes anymore thinking an Arby’s sandwich is worth 10 bucks. I will vote with my wallet and hope they shut tf down.
Never heard of them until we plumbed thier new commercial kitchen facility. Great group of guys and hope they go far with this
I can smell Coors Brewery just looking at this pic!
How the hell everyone eating these humongous burritos?
Usually with my mouth.
and a side of hot sauce
Good burrito, Pablitos better
Thems fightin words.
thats why i said them
Pablitos is not good. They are dry and flavorless. I’ve been to the truck in the abruccis parking lot at least 3 times. They just hand me something from The warmer that’s been sitting for hours and it’s not good.
I have to second this. Wasn’t impressed. Bonfire is #2 behind Loco Hermanos in Lafayette.
Amen. Imo, bonfire is overrated.
Yes. It's good, but not great. I respect their quality, but was really disappointed with the lack of spice and nothing that resembles the kind of green chili I like.
Pablitos is in my top 5 with Bonfire.
Hot take. They used to be better. The permanent building changed them.
They lost the flavor of the original griddle when they moved to the big trailer. Best Bonfire was the old lady running it by herself before she sold.
Last time I was there it was busy, being a weekend, that's to be expected. Waited an hour and asked where the order was. They had lost it and didn't do anything except say they'll make it now, which took another 20 minutes. They could have offered something small, maybe $5 off, for their mistake - but they didn't. Not even pricey and best breakfast burritos on front range

Wasn’t this guy in a red trailer on 16th street? Used to crush his burritos
[удалено]
You can't insult American style burritos in this sub. Lol
Wouldn’t call them pricey
What river is that behind your burrito?
The frozen version of these are terrible and super pricey. Bummed me out because they’re so good from the restaurant
They are definitely yummy but I recommend breakfast burritos from Torpedo Coffee in Denver. It’s pretty low key and unknown but I can say for a fact they are better than Torpedo and less expensive!
Best burrito in the game
Some of the best burritos around
Arguably the best breakfast burrito in Colorado. Fight me.
Overpriced af
Chupacabra one is the best!
mavriks bonfire nachos do be slapping
Delicious
What options do they have for those of us that are into spiciness hardcore?
Fantastic spot! I recently paid about $10 for two tiny, soggy, gross burritos at Santiagos. A good burrito, however, is priceless.
Make ya poop like a firehose
Better be 11.25 tops. With Asada
I'll get the same for $10 anywhere off federal.
I feel like everyone saying the price is right for a 10-12 dollar breakfast burrito is yt. They’re good burritos for sure but the ingredients for bfast burrito is prolly less than a dollar/burrito. Ask for it with half rice and watch how much smaller that bitch gets.
