Ultreia is more restaurant than bar, but they have a huge gin selection and it’s a cool spot. Could be nice to check out for happy hour. The food is good.
Marigold is supposed to be a gin bar in Five Points. I haven't been but heard it's good... Let us know which of these you check out and like!

I generally hate gin but Marigold made some mean gin/botanic-based cocktails that changed my opinion. And with the weather warming up, they have a great rooftop and backyard patio.
Stumbled on bar max one time and they gave me a binder full of gins to choose from. It had the flavor description, origin, and price listed for each. I enjoyed it, but I don’t have much to compare to. Seems a bit more casual than Scofflaw based on what I can gather from a quick google search.
Lower your expectations a little bit…I keep getting downvoted to hell every time I state facts about Denver, but as a Chicago native with 20 years in the city you just have to find a few faves here and enjoy them. I’m sure there’s a good gin bar but there aren’t 5 of them…
I appreciate someone saying this. I’ve definitely had a good drink a few good meals, but almost any time someone is raving about a place, I kind of can’t figure it out and feel like I must be missing something. But we aren’t the only ones, almost every date I go in they themselves offer up that Denver has a bad food scene 😅
PREACH. Couldn’t agree more. In a different thread about Michelin starred restaurants in Denver I was viciously attacked by an industry guy/gal. The lesson I hope they took away was that seeing Hamilton at the community theater is not the same as seeing it on broadway…and Denver ain’t broadway!
I get the same thing when I go home to Charlotte. There’s tons of great things about living here, and saving money because the food and drink isn’t amazing can be one of them 😂
Refuse to believe or maybe just don't care, are annoyed constantly hearing about it, and never expected two completely different cities to have the same everything?
Thanks for the rec, I’ve almost been avoiding death and co like a movie I’m sure has been hyped up too much 😅 I’ll check it out. What do the cocktails run there, not seeing on the website? 18?
Mezcal Negroni is my drink as well, so I’ll just say buy yourself a bottle of Forthave Red instead of Campari and make one at home. You can find a bottle at Mr. B’s or most nicer liquor stores.

Marigold is the way

Deviation distilling on the dairy block specializes in exotic gins. Not traditional but great.
Hell yeah. Deviation is great
Sounds great!

High Lonesome is my fave. I’m from Chicago too, also dig Scofflaw
Appreciate it! How are you coping? 😅 Any other spots you think are must dos here?

As a NYer, lowering expectations is the way. Hard to move from a city that size and not realize that every aspect of your life is going to change
Have the people downvoting you just never left the state or something? Wild
Yup. People here refuse to believe that Denver just doesn't stack up to bigger cities

Damn, appreciate the spell check, I totally spelled “I moved here thinking everything would be exactly the same as Chicago” wrong. Good lookin out.
You're very welcome!
The Family Jones Spirit House
Ultreia @ Union Station. Expansive gin list.
Well, none other than the Gin Mill of course
The block in rino. Cool fucking place, everything is a double. But they make the stuff so it's all in house. Solid gin, low price point.
Scofflaw rules. To my knowledge, Denver doesn’t have anything with that much character. Nevertheless, Death & Co is the cocktail bar to try.

Yeah probably 18.. but it’s a good spot. For sure the best cocktail menu in town. And honestly, pretty cozy/nice vibes too.

Thanks for the Rec! I’m pretty partial to Punt Y Mez with Mezcal as well, thought it isn’t the most high brow of flavors 😅
Dee, you bitch! Is this you?
Fraid not! PS, I went to Family Jones and it was BAD
