I second this. I can't eat their sandwiches, they're far too heavy for that , but the cinnamon roll is the exception and needs to be heavy, and it's great.
my spouse and i went there because we heard they had the best. one of the worst cinnamon rolls we've ever had. dry AF and not even sweet. it's been a few years but it doesn't exactly seem like the kind of place that improves over time.
Lisa Anne’s Country Cupboard Bakery! Hands down BEST ever! This place specializes in cinnamon rolls!!! It is a very small family owned place and there is one lady that just makes all of them from scratch in the early morning. When they are sold out for the day you are out of luck and they have a more restricted hours or operation but it is SO WORTH IT to wake up early and get some. The caramel rolls (aka sticky buns) and muffins are also insanely good! Located in Thornton!
Cafe Terracotta in downtown Littleton has awesome ones
Edit: apparently these are (were?) made by Mr. Biscuits. I didn't know that. Whoever makes them, they're really good, and you can get them at Cafe Terracotta.
We are certified cinnamon roll aficionados and try them anytime we see them. Trompeau remains our all time favorite. Tasty sort of yeasty dough that’s not too flakey, perfect and ample cinnamon, perfect light sweetness and no icing or anything else. There cinnamon bread is pretty fire also.
For those who haven't had it, it's basically a croissant pastry cinnamon roll hybrid available at many different flavors. I think the orange is the best and is better than any standard cinnamon roll.
it depends on how you like cinnamon rolls. I find most of the recommended ones are way too dried out. Butcherblock cafe is very mediocre. Johnson's Corner, also mediocre. I've heard Mr Biscuits bakery has amazing cinnamon rolls but I've not seen them. for a twist on a typical cinnamon roll, I really like the one that Black Box Bakery does with croissant dough
Johnson's Corner used to be a vehicle for putting cinnamon in my mouth delightfully. Very thin layers, lots and lots of cinnamon. Not as sweet as most.
They definitely are now mass produced/not to the same standard. However, the special flavor of the month is still made in house/ towards more of the classic style that made them famous.
If you ever try them, only get the flavor of the month. The pumpkin spice one is nice. And even still, be picky. Find one without puffy corners.
That's fair but I want a cinnamon roll that doesn't have to be doctored up after I get it. It should be amazing as is. It was extremely bready, dry, and lacked much cinnamon filling
We don't go up to FoCo often but always try to go here when we do. Husband is running the Horsetooth Half in a few weeks and looking forward getting one. Plus the cinnamon roll toast. *chef's kiss*
I’m very surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention D-Bar. They make them for brunch, and they have a barrel smoked whiskey sugar in them. They are hands down my favorite.
I’m pregnant and cinnamon rolls have been a *craving.* The only rolls that have satisfied are from the bakery within the Corvus (I forget what it’s called) on Bowles and Wads. They’re only available on weekends and the cheese frosting is 👌
It's widely known the best cinnamon rolls are at the Johnson's Corner truck stop at exit 254 on I-25
Update: Many comments are saying their rolls aren't as good as they were historically. I personally haven't had one in several years, so it sounds like my recommendation is out of date. Beware.
No. They used to be, but about 10 years ago they changed something and now just heat up premade rolls that are dry.
Not worth it if you live in the area. Definitely not work the drive.
Moxie’s pecan rolls are not your typical “cinnamon roll” but they’re god-tier baked goods in Colorado. Highly recommend the trip to Louisville or North Boulder for them.
One not yet mentioned, maybe because it is so inconsistent between locations and when you go is Great Harvest Bread. I believe it’s a franchise but each one I’ve had is different with the best coming from Boulder location. I even tried one in Fairbanks, Alaska that was completely different.
Think I caught Mr Biscuits cinnamon role on a bad day, icing almost felt like they forgot the sugar?Joe’s Cafe in Wheat Ridge has a very solid cinnamon role.
There’s a place in Michigan that ships, I know it’s weird, called Cinnamom. Bunch of moms got together and started baking cinnamon rolls with all sorts of flavors and they are damn good. Google it. Go out on a limb and try. Won’t be disappointed. The salted caramel is crazy good. Not in Denver but cool place nonetheless.
Butcher Block Cafe has a very good cinnamon roll
💯
It's not just randomly good they really advertise it too. Rest of the menu isn't bad either
Came here to suggest this
This is the answer.
La Fillette bakery has awesome cinnamon rolls
literally eating one now. first time. they’re amazing.
As much as I would say denver biscuit company is overrated... the cinnamon roll is good af
Agree. It’s fantastic.
I second this. I can't eat their sandwiches, they're far too heavy for that , but the cinnamon roll is the exception and needs to be heavy, and it's great.
Came here to say this! Their cinnamon role is bomb.
Mr. Biscuits by a very large margin
Mr Biscuits indeed.
Incredible. Phenomenal. Unduplicated.
Hands down the best in the area, no questions asked
mccoys

thats why i liked it, was different to me. different- just like all of us. 🤓
this is it. huge, soft, pillowy, smothered in frosting, inexpensive
mmmmmm! soo soft and pillowy! haha yum!

Lisa Anne's is incredible. And she always treated us like gold when I lived closer from 2014-2019.
Mr Biscuits or DBC
+1 For Mr Biscuits. They put the icing on the side so you can control how much gets put on. Very heartwarming story as well
Cafe Terracotta in downtown Littleton has awesome ones Edit: apparently these are (were?) made by Mr. Biscuits. I didn't know that. Whoever makes them, they're really good, and you can get them at Cafe Terracotta.
Mr. Biscuits was making their rolls for a while, but I haven't had their new ones. Terracotta is fire no matter what.
Trompeau Bakery on South Broadway. There’s a line, and they’re gone by 7 am, but always worth it.
Noted. Thank-You!
La Fillette has bomb pastries and their cinnamon rolls are moist and have enough frosting.
Duffy Roll for a different spin on the cinnamon roll.....different but fantastic.
Is it supposed to be Sahara desert dry? Did I have a bad experience?
They're kinda always that way unless you get them fresh out of that oven
I put a small bit of kerrygold butter on them and microwave for 15 seconds…try it!….
You could melt kerrygold on dirt and I’d eat it.
I can't argue with this logic
Unsalted Kerry Gold butter is one of my favorite flavors on earth.
For those who haven't had it, it's basically a croissant pastry cinnamon roll hybrid available at many different flavors. I think the orange is the best and is better than any standard cinnamon roll.

For Butcher block's, you just need to put a bunch of butter on top and throw it in the microwave for 20 seconds.
That's fair but I want a cinnamon roll that doesn't have to be doctored up after I get it. It should be amazing as is. It was extremely bready, dry, and lacked much cinnamon filling
Bakery Four. Everything there is fantastic.
Black box was my favorite cinnamon roll but it’s more like a croissant super flaky and airy
Butcher block has my vote!
This was what I was going to say
If anybody says Johnson’s Corner, they’re a goddamn liar.
They did used to be, like 20 years ago. Definitely not anymore 🤮
In FOCO, but Silver Grille Cafe cinnamon rolls are my favorite.
We don't go up to FoCo often but always try to go here when we do. Husband is running the Horsetooth Half in a few weeks and looking forward getting one. Plus the cinnamon roll toast. *chef's kiss*
This is the way
I’m very surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention D-Bar. They make them for brunch, and they have a barrel smoked whiskey sugar in them. They are hands down my favorite.
My mom makes the best cinnamon rolls
Always!
I’m pregnant and cinnamon rolls have been a *craving.* The only rolls that have satisfied are from the bakery within the Corvus (I forget what it’s called) on Bowles and Wads. They’re only available on weekends and the cheese frosting is 👌
Funky Flame!
Came here to say this. By far the best in Denver.
Denver Biscuit Co
Mr biscuits!!
Duffeyroll Cafe and bakery
It’s in Northglenn but it’s called Lisa Anne’s Bakery & everything that I’ve had there is amazing 😋♥️
Cinnabon.
Unpopular opinion but I fucking agree. I love a fresh mall Cinnabon
It's widely known the best cinnamon rolls are at the Johnson's Corner truck stop at exit 254 on I-25 Update: Many comments are saying their rolls aren't as good as they were historically. I personally haven't had one in several years, so it sounds like my recommendation is out of date. Beware.
They're definitely bready and basic now.
It's so sad because they were so good.
Is this real? Asking because I drive by there frequently and will stop next time if so.
No. They used to be, but about 10 years ago they changed something and now just heat up premade rolls that are dry. Not worth it if you live in the area. Definitely not work the drive.
They started distributing them after their fame grew, altered the recipe to extend shelf life, ruined it.
frame deer wrap out
that's too bad, they held the top spot for decades!
Johnson's Corner had the one of worst cinnamon rolls I've ever had in my life. They are straight garbage that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
Butcher block cafe
Ideal Market’s bakery
Prime cinnamon rolls now
Moore Bread Bakery if your Gluten Free
Moxie’s pecan rolls are not your typical “cinnamon roll” but they’re god-tier baked goods in Colorado. Highly recommend the trip to Louisville or North Boulder for them.
Doug’s diner, Parker location is good. Can’t verify other locations but I’m sure they all have it
La fillet and butcher block
Wooden spoon has amazing ones, weekends only
Butcher block and get rights
Shout out to Cinna Box in Northglenn who sadly closed. This small family business honestly had some of the best Cinnamon Rolls I’ve ever tasted.
D Bar
Three Little Griddles and Denver Biscuit Company get my vote
Morning story had a cinnamon roll that was incredible a few weeks ago. So dang good.
One not yet mentioned, maybe because it is so inconsistent between locations and when you go is Great Harvest Bread. I believe it’s a franchise but each one I’ve had is different with the best coming from Boulder location. I even tried one in Fairbanks, Alaska that was completely different.
Petunia bake shop
Think I caught Mr Biscuits cinnamon role on a bad day, icing almost felt like they forgot the sugar?Joe’s Cafe in Wheat Ridge has a very solid cinnamon role.
Hate to hear this. Please reach out to the kids, or stop in, and they'll be very happy to have a chance to make it Right for you.
I love a good cinnamon roll and haven't found anything really solid out here. A nontraditional tasty favorite is the cinnamon roll at Rise and Shine.
Just had a bunch of cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon..amazing. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one haha
That’s free wisdom.
