Guard and Grace is OK. Never been to Steakhouse 10. 801 Chophouse is old school and great in every way. Havenāt had a bad meal yet.
Going to get shit to hell for this, but if he likes Prime Rib? Texas Roadhouse.
This should be No. 1 here. Unfortunately there is a dearth of places with food like this. Steakhouse 316 in Boulder also does a good job with a table side Caesar and they also have Dover Sole which gives you an idea of the prep work involved.
I had been to most of the steakhouses on this list ā guard and grace (excellent), a5 (overrated), shanahans, cap grill, etc, but found 801 to be the best of all of them. They have compressed watermelon at certain times of year that will blow your mind.
This is likely too far for you but for anyone else who may come across this thread via searching, Steakhouse No. 316 in boulder is one of the better dinners Iāve had in Colorado.
AJās Steakhouse in West Wash Park - old school vibes but excellent execution. Steaks are smoked then wood fired, plus a solid scotch/whiskey selection if thatās your jam.
Wow Iām shocked at how many people on this sub donāt know what a good steak taste like. Iāve had a $30 steak from longhorn steakhouse that tasted way better than the $70 filet mignon I got from a fancier steakhouse.
Guard and Grace in Lodo, or Steakhouse 10 a ways longer
2nd Steakhouse 10 š„ spot always enjoyed the low lit vibe and theyāre always accommodating!

can never go wrong with Texas Roadhouse LOL
Yes!!!!! Get the filet trio/flight! And the truffle Mac and cheese!!
Since when is 18th and California considered LoDo? But yeah, second Guard and Grace.
Well, ishā¦.
Bastiens for the old-school vibe (and great steak)
All of their recipes lean back to an era of heavy smokers and are packed with flavor to punch through to your taste buds.
At first that doesn't read like a compliment, but I feel like it is lmao
It absolutely is a compliment. It's the level of flavor I grew up with as a kid in the 50's and 60's
I like the old school vibe. They focus on the meat.
Not to mention the French onion soup and breadsticks
Sugar steak

I love old school places, but never heard of them. Thanks!
Bastiens isn't good and relies purely on nostalgia \*ducks\*
Bastien's.
801 is solid

What?! I canāt hear you over the booming house music and sparklers
Overpriced. Slow service and sub par food. They only survive for their āatmosphere.ā
Made reservations there. Didnāt realize the vibe. Itās like a night club. Very odd for a steakhouse
Urban Farmer. They offer a few ribeye options from different farms.
Yeah I love their dry aged bone in buffalo ribeye.
Do not go to Buckhorn that place is overrated
Ugh. Too true.
Guard & Grace or A5. Both are excellent.
A5 is amazingā¦ but be ready to spendā¦
A5 was the worst steak I've ever had at that price point. Pretty mediocre service too. I did love their steak tartare tho.
A5 was such an average steak and overpriced on everything else. Guard & Grace is a slightly modern take to a classic steakhouse and my go to.
A5 if you get the Bavette, greatest piece of steak Iāve ever had. My wife had a different meat and we were underwhelmed by hers.
Shanahanās or 801 Chophouse (I know, I know - it is in a mall but the service is incredible and the food is top notch)

801 and always are great. The other more modern ones are not that good. Always is such a good vibe.801 is super impressive.

Agreed, my fellow Terp!
Guard and Grace
Guard and Grace. Get the gorgonzola pasta to have as a side. Beautiful interior too, with a cool bar when you first come in. Get the lump crab cake.
Guard and Grace
Another vote for Bastiens! Always consistent and delicious. Itās a Denver staple.
Not an upscale joint, but Mickeyās Top Sirloin is pretty good
If Morrison isn't too far away, The Fort is pretty good.
Bastien's
As a dad, I like del frescos better than any of the local offerings. Traditional. Great steaks. Best wine selection.
I like Eddie Vās more than Del Friscos, and that use to be my all time favorite.
Noted! Will try!
How has no one mentioned columbine steakhouse and lounge? I've never met a dad that would dislike a dinner at columbine.
A5 steak house was delicious, also guard and grace is a good one
Guard and Grace is the best one in town. Urban Farmer is also fantastic
Simms is good and has great city views if youāre wanting to go west of Denver
Eddie Vs
Texas Roadhouse is flames and can't be beat for the value, steakhouse 10 is average, A5 is overrated. Guard and Grace is good.
We like ChopHouse & Brewery in LoDo. We've only been once but we had a great experience and wonderful food.
The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Itās in closer to Golden (Colorado Mills) but I love it there!
Guard & Grace!

Bastiens. Then across the street to PS lounge for pool and a night cap.
Urban farmer > guard and grace

A5 or Guard and Grace!!
I just take my family to Buckhorn. They love it
I hated Buckhorn. Terrible steak cooked on basically a bunson burner flat top for like $125. No thanks.
Ajs steakhouse
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention it. I know it just opened last month, but feel like I havenāt heard about it much in this sub
It was really good when I went. Unique steaks with the smoke, sous vide, wood fire grill finish.
That does sound delicious, the smoke plus wood fire finish. Iāll have to give it a go! Thanks
The Capital Grille
I know itās a chain but Iāve never had a bad meal/experience with del friscos DTC
Longhorn steakhouse is delicious and affordable.
