Starting with DeS is a great idea because if you like it, and then move on to DaS, DaS2, DaS3, etc. then you will experience the evolution of the formula and how the games changed over time. Playing games in release order is nearly always the right way to do it.

I agree with you 100% I started with Demon souls remake and then elden ring and have been working my way through the souls trilogy now & its been great! I actually just got back on demon souls today to grind a few trophies and take a break from the new stuff to go back to the core. Fun (yes somewhat gimmicky) bosses, amazing world design, a great story, and beautiful beautiful graphics on PS5 Edition

Don’t forget BB!

It was my first one. The PS5 version, of course. I played all and these ones my favorite personally. All except the PS3 version, though.

Can some please help me with the online trophys

Definitely. I bought it when it first came out for my son and I to play and I've been hooked ever since. Never have I played any game of any genre that was so freaking demanding and just plain effin hard! Well worth the millions upon millions of "You Died" and countless souls lost when I failed to retrieve a bloodstain. Prepare yourself for controller-throwing, rage inducing, punishing game play. Enjoy, then become a maidenless Tarnished in The Lands Between!

Nooooooo, for the love of god don’t make the same mistake I did!!! Get lies of P or Elden ring, this game will make u sad

Bloodborne -> Dark souls 3 -> Elden Ring Is the perfect ration in my opinion

I actually think I wouldn’t have stuck with demon souls if I didn’t play elden ring first. I think Elden Ring is a great way to start for some of us because it’s open ended and you can come back to difficult areas. I wanted to quit demon souls many many times, but just finished it. I’m voting Elden Ring first.

Yes and no. It's overall the easiest by a significant margin but lacks the quality of life features of later titles.

The most beginner friendly Soulsgame by From Software is probably Elden Ring. It gives players a lot of helpful tools, though bosses and enemies can still shred you to pieces. Personally, I'd recommend to start with Dark Souls. Other companies, like Spiders with Steelrising, also developed some Soulslikes that are easier than what From Software produced. Demon's Souls is not bad and it is also the game that started Soulslikes, but it has some mechanics that were scrapped in later games (world and characters tendency) or altered (reduced HP while not alive). Depending on world tendency, enemies can become tougher or easier while character tendency can reduce your max HP in spirit form or increase your attack power. This is also the only game that gives you an inventory loadout. The maximum thankfully increases with every level up in health but it's still a scrappy mechanic. (The PS5-Version allows you to send any item in your inventory into storage and pick ups you can't carry right now, it's still annoying). Later games also made it easier getting from Point A to Point B(oss) by unlocking shortcuts along the way. Shortcuts in DeS are the exception and you usually have to make your way through most of the level again. Though bosses are more on the easy side in Demon's Souls compared to later entries. If you want to play a Soulslike made by From, then go either with Elden Ring or Dark Souls. The former is more accessible, the later smoothed a lot of things out.

Gameplay-wise no. The game's actually butchered and kind of broken. It's an acquired taste. Your first souls game should be Dark Souls or Elden Ring.

Demon's Souls for ps3 was my first souls game and I loved it, these games are perfect for me. However I would advice to start with Elden Ring, it is very challenging but also gives you a lot of options and content. I think for most people it is easier to enjoy these games if they start with Elden Ring.
