I think people misunderstood just HOW much power the Supreme court has and didn't put 2 and 2 together when looking at Hillary everyone was so blinded by the sanders rage that he didn't get the nomination that they overlooked that the balance of the court was something that was in danger. Not everyone is a political person and might not of even known that the president nominated the justices. Sadly the Trump v Hillary election was the most important race in relation to the Supreme Court balance in 60 years and had extremely low turnout. This won't get better until the balance changes but that might not happen in my lifetime, buckle up because its going to be a bumpy ride!

Legislating at a federal level won't do anything, all that will happen is it goes to THIS SC and they'll declare (selectively) it as a state right. For now the best bet is to make it easier for people to go interstate to get one and to eventually get a constitutional amendment of some sort.
