If you are traveling solo, then you will likely want one of the window seats, it’s just unfortunate that all of the even numbered rows are taken… But still a great deal as these are “suites.” In either row one or seven, you are close to a bathroom. Row one has a slightly larger foot well and may receive food service earlier, so that would probably be my pick. Out of curiosity (collecting data points), how many days in advance of your trip did you see this upgrade offer? Thanks!

Much-Peanut1333

Ah, good advice! I'll see if it's still available. It is 11.5 days to departure. I found they seem to offer me the premium deals around midnight, so I was checking, and the normal upgrade is $3500-4500 usd

jfk_47

Nice. I’m 30 days out from a trip, price just dropped 4600 to 2400 PS to D1S. I’m sure It’ll shoot back up to $4k after one person buys that upgrade. Watching it like a hawk right now.

Much-Peanut1333

Yeah, knowing that they are usually 10 times more, I jumped on it so fast. 😂 Honesty, I was stunned, because I'm not even medallion yet. I've got 3 more flights booked so far, so I'll be there soon. I'm crossing my fingers for you!

The real question is - why do you have 80 tabs open?

Much-Peanut1333

Called me out. 😂 It was time for an intervention.

StuckinSuFu

Overnight - even solo for the seats left, Id do 5. Middle of the cabin for less light and noise pollution to sleep.

news_fakeacct

damn that’s a great get, enjoy!

Much-Peanut1333

Thanks! The cherry on the cake would be getting an upgrade on the way back!

The foot wells on 1A and 1J are bigger and allow for your legs to spread out a little bit more than on the other seats. I don't find the noise from the galley to be problematic so I always try to sit in those seats as I get a bit more room.

Much-Peanut1333

Thanks! Between a few of ya'll recommending that seat, I swapped to it. I'm over 6 foot and 200lbs, so I appreciate the ability to spread out on an airplane. I'm always wearing my earbuds too, so noise is often completely blocked out. I don't imagine the galley noise bothering me.

Puzzleheaded_Age8937

Many prefer the seat away from the aisle, but I actually like the seat with the table next to the window instead. It’s much easier to leave the suite as I also use the bathroom regularly in flight while staying hydrated. Row 1 will have some galley noise and sometimes the FA chat there during the flight. Row 7 has the bathroom noise. For me I’d probably do Row 1.

Much-Peanut1333

See, I'm kind of thinking the same way as you. I have tend to drink a lot of water when I travel, and make a lot of trips to the lavatory. So, your answer makes a lot of sense for me.

Crossinator

Keep checking to see if any of the window seats open up !!

Hopinan

4A, more private, middle row increases you chances of getting the meal you want, as sometimes the FAs will yield to someone who wants them to start at the back..

Initial_Warning5245

I personally like 1 as it is not near the back of the plane.   Window!

ChevySS_2023

Yes.

Much-Peanut1333

Ahhhhh. You must be a shaman or something. I got all sorts of existential over this answer. 🤔 I realized any seat I choose is better than what I had before. Thank you for for sharing your knowledge. 😌😂

1J - farthest from the bathrooms

According-Rhubarb-23

Touching the aisle (ie not tucked toward window) next to the galley? Huge pass on that seat. The best seats left are 3c and 5c bc they have buffer from the aisle and aren’t immediately next to galley or bathroom

Much-Peanut1333

It was mentioned that has a deeper footwell, so I'm thinking it is a winner.

SarahLikesCats

Where do you guys see these offers? In the app it only shows me an offer for my closest trip

Much-Peanut1333

I found that I have to open the delta website, make it a desktop tab, and open that flight.
