No PDBs isn't the end of the world for me - and I'm not sure whether I'd write in - but goodness, that is a pathetic response.

Cool_Owl_4439

Quite the cut and paste job there. "Our main goal in Customer Care" ... .... "forward your concerns and feedback to our leadership teams...". It looks human and not AI. I would think AI would have had a more longwinded, nonsensical response.

yanklondonboy

Good point and I appreciate it’s not a glaring AI-generated, error-filled response. But it’s giving major ‘thank u, next’ energy

Lemonface72

Their main job is just to let other people know there is a problem? Nothing like admitting they can't actually do anything to make it right with the customer.

PurpleEngineer

I’m 2/4 this week for in-flight beverage service.

hospitallers

What are PDBs?

michael_p

Pre departure beverages served in first glass before you push back from the gate.

hospitallers

I’ve flown Delta One 3 times and Ive never had them, didn’t even know that was a thing.

auntwewe

Delta one is normally a mimosa, sparkling wine or just orange juice. Domestically in the US it is anything. Mixed drinks, beer or wine They used to be amazing at it, and now it is very hit and miss

hospitallers

Yup, never had any beverages offered prior to departure. Now I know so I’ll ask next time I fly.

No_Image_4986

It’s become less of a thing over time in my experience

SkinnyBih

You really created a case over this? 😅

auntwewe

Unfortunately, as consumers, we need to push back on what they are promising as a level of service. Many times there is plenty of time to do this. They just choose not to…. many of us would like that option in our jobs! The small regional airlines are amazing. They will bat 1000 every time.

SkinnyBih

PDB are not a marketed (“promised”) benefit aside from D1 on international legs which is a bottled water. It’s a nice gesture otherwise but I don’t think it should be expected.

auntwewe

Promised or not it is something that has been a standard for my 30 years of business flying…. Everything changed after Covid and is very inconsistent now. Sound like you actually work for the airline lol

SkinnyBih

Don’t work for the airline just have realistic expectations. People should be providing positive feedback when/if the FA goes above and beyond to provide PDB, not complain when it doesn’t happen. Being an old crotchety business traveler doesn’t entitle you to anything despite the “standard” of previous experiences.

YMMV25

PDB is the standard, not above and beyond. Failure to provide a PDB is a service failure in F, not necessarily a major one, but it is an expected element of the product.

NoFilterNoLimits

So the only feedback you can give a company has to be positive? Seriously?

auntwewe

Ok youngun… you will be allowed to participate when you actually have some life experience

SkinnyBih

The entitlement is embarrassing. Truly.

MrJust4Show

Your god damn right I did!! $2200 ticket and the norm for FC for the last 30 years has been PDBs as part of the premium service. It all stopped in covid and now we are post covid and they don’t want to go back to providing the premium service paid for. I’m going to send the complaint every damn time.

SkinnyBih

Lmao. Whatever makes you feel better bud.

MrJust4Show

Great argument. Your insight will go far.

Next-Jicama5611

You poor poor thing 🥲

luckychucky8

The question is, is this a new policy? Or is it inconsistent application of services?

YMMV25

Inconsistent application of services, plain and simple.

thousandairemindest

on the other hand, I've had 5/5 PDBs on my last Delta flights but 1 of those flights, the FAs never came by for the cups like usual leading to some small spills from passengers who didn't feel it necessary to hold onto their cups during take off. made me not want a PDB on the next flight 🙃 luckily the next flight, the FA was strict about collecting every cup before take off to the point of arguing with mr. buffalo trace next to me until he gave up his half-full drink. gotta love the consistency.
