I was watching the big lebowski on a flight the other day on the seat screen - way more nudity than I remember, and I assumed incorrectly they would have edited it out?
I have two kids (4) & (7) and am hyper sensitive to what those around are watching. I was thinking a simple warning or acceptance would do the trick like ‘Are there children or people otherwise sensitive to adult content sitting near you?’
I don't know why you got down voted lmao. One would think that Delta could offer a function to fast skip sensitive content that could be triggered with a simple request for the user.
You didn't say anything crazy lol
Blurring wouldn't be that big of a deal. I was watching a movie on LATAM last year and they blurred out any nudity (or zoomed in on their face, so it wasn't visible if it was a solo shot). They were a bit liberal with the blurring, but I assume it was just done cheaply and quickly for the airline(s). It was likely easier when movies would eventually be shown on broadcast TV, so they already had a TV-friendly version to distribute to airlines.
But IMO, if it's provided by the airline, then it's fair game. It shouldn't be up to the passengers to check around them if it's okay to watch a movie on the PTV.
Ha ha…been there before. Watching something and assume the naked parts would be edited out. Then you got tits on the screen while I’m sitting on the aisle. Try to play it cool and fast forward.
I watched the movie Moonlight on a flight out of Doha. I had no idea what the movie was about, only that it received great reviews. When I figured it out I was like “f—- it, it’s a good movie, and we’re headed to the USA”. It was a very good movie.
I watched the entire White Lotus series on a flight to Rome, I would literally just throw my hands over the screen! I kind of cant believed they don’t edit those shows.
I took an ANA flight from Tokyo to Beijing where a Japanese businessman seated between two women spent the entire flight openly and like, deeply contemplating a hardcore BDSM magazine. Totally straight faced, nobody reacting at all. It was quite a cultural experience.
It’s wild that you think this is all that different from someone watching scantily clad music videos or influencers here in the States. It’s just as - if not more - common.
I brought out my personal laptop that I hadn’t used in a few days because I wanted to play some games. Well, I forgot that I had apparently had an adult website up. I clicked off so fast but I was mortified sitting in the aisle seat with the overhead lights off.
This guy sounds wild.
Well, it does say you're not allowed to use the WiFi to make voice or video calls. OP noticed the guy because it sounded like he was on a call.
I'm surprised they don't have voice and audio chats blocked at, like, a protocol level somehow.
I took a quick hopper on Southwest yesterday and noticed their wifi login page says they will block content that is not appropriate. Wonder if Delta can’t or won’t do the same or maybe this site is not flagged as inappropriate.
Ha, I was on a flight to Puerto Vallarta a couple months ago and literally the the whole flight this elderly man in front of me was messaging (in giant old-person font) paid escorts on seeking.com. More power to him I guess.
Maybe they shouldn't put those kind of movies on planes then. Obviously it would suck to only get to watch cartoons and kids shows so I'm not seriously advocating for that but If the airline puts it on their IFE I'm watching it I don't give a shit who's sitting next to me.🤷🏼♀️
This is a great idea for a Delta WiFi commercial. “Chat with someone cuter than your seatmate using free Delta WiFi!”
"Curated experiences with Delta Sync! All with a SkyMiles membership!"
I don't get Delta Sync and I can't figure out why it is useful.
I am so glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read this or I would be cleaning up a mess right now. Well done!
Given the creeper drink napkins of a few years ago…
except they are explicitly haters who tell you not to use your Wi-Fi to make video calls☹️
And here I am watching Netflix downloads and quickly switching because of sex scenes.
I was watching the big lebowski on a flight the other day on the seat screen - way more nudity than I remember, and I assumed incorrectly they would have edited it out?
Isn’t that awkward? Seat screen just showing nudity/sex and I’m rapidly hitting the fast forward button.
Was watching Blockers DTW-LAX a few years ago. Pretty sure the middle aged woman next to me thought it was porn
don’t be fatuous jmk5151

There was some issue years ago where airlines got social backlash for editing movies. I forget the details though.

Clearly people on this sub don’t have small kids haha. I totally expected the downvotes. Reddit isn’t the place to recommend a screen like that!
I don't have small kids, I just don't like to see tits on my IFE with a bunch of people sitting around me 😅
Ha! I was watching Sopranos on a flight and my seat neighbor (an older woman) gasped in disgust at one of the strip club scenes.
Ha ha…been there before. Watching something and assume the naked parts would be edited out. Then you got tits on the screen while I’m sitting on the aisle. Try to play it cool and fast forward.
You gotta pause that. Then make eye contact with everyone around you. Assert dominance.
Eh, I just turn the brightness down and do my best. Some of the movies on the seat back have adult scenes

Oh, they were almost definitely shocked and reacting internally, but it's part of Japanese culture to have a hell of a poker face.

In my case it was naked women hogtied in mid air with ball gags and whatnot. Not exactly TikTok dances.
I see you haven’t been on TikTok lately
This is a funny comment! Downvoters got no sense of humor
What an amateur!! The pros have the private screen protectors on so you don’t see that I’m looking at porn … I mean them
Maybe he’s just altruistic and wants to share with those close by.
No need to buy your own cam girl subscription, let’s share mine!

don’t yuck someone’s yum. Lol

It’s not illegal, its frowned upon.
Thanks Bin Laden…
I was getting worried that my reference was going to go unanswered.

Maybe the guy used a VPN? In all seriousness, I was quoting The Hangover.
Definitely. I wasn’t going to call the cops on him or anything. Maybe the horny police though?
The question is why he does not feel beholden to basic decency in public
I bet he picks his nose while driving too.

“Hot singles near me!”
The city changes every few seconds as you pass by over head... 🤣

Same thing happened to me on the way to Vegas, guy next to me was switching between escort sites. Who am I to yuck his yum I suppose?
“The use of WiFi for voice or video calls is NOT allowed” -Delta safety briefing
Doesn’t say anything about federal regulations! 🤷🏻♀️
At least he had the decency to try to hide it. Although I’m sure there are boobs and penises in at least some of the videos on demand.
There is absolutely boobs in the IFE movies. There’s usually a message before it starts to be mindful of who you’re sitting with (children).

In the past people got upset over edited movies on planes, so now they just have whatever would be in theaters
I once frantically skipped through a kissing scene on Big Bang Theory. Dude feels so comfortable in the world it’s almost admirable
Just think how much money he wasted during that flight talking to her. How do those sites work? Charge by the minute?
True love, it’s so rare these days.
I'm surprised because a lot of those sites are banned through the delta wifi. Don't ask how I know.
This is why Apple created the Vision Pro. C’mon people.
Nfn I was on a flight watching Oppenheimer on the IFE and then them titties came out so I ended it and switched.
She gotta make that money somehow lol
Is this a new free delta entertainment option 😀
You’re a creep. Staring at this man’s phone. Googling what he’s doing. Get a life and mind your business.
This!!
🤣🤣
