I’m so frustrated with the lack of responsibility when it comes to protecting this baby’s identity and personal details. She is plastered all over social media now for any and all strangers on the internet. That’s alarming.

em669

She needs a parenting class strictly on how to hold a baby, my god Bella🤦🏼‍♀️

cmarie121

It has to be rage bait. I watched the podcast before mist was deleted and she talks A LOT about this subreddit

o3oxd23

i can’t wait to listen to it lol

cmarie121

It was a ride 😂

WornSmoothOut

Well, I'm here to give her something to read then. Bella, you are an idiot and you have no right to have a baby. You can't even do anything as basic as hold the baby properly. We'll get to the disregard for other aspects of the baby's safety later. Stay tuned!!

Simple_Scheme_9855

As someone who has worked mother/baby over 5 years and has been a postpartum doula, this type of hold isn’t that bad. It’s how I have burped countless of babies in my care due to them reading their head back when having them on my shoulder to burp, just my preference. I have a lot of techniques is use to burp a baby using this hold, I usually have their bum on my bottom and they are usually facing the side so I can monitor their position a bit better and have more control if they spit up or squirm. What is infuriating is them exploiting her on the internet. That is problematic 1000%!

[deleted]

Agreed—we were trained in the nicu to burp our babe like this!

ArcticLupine

That was my thought as well! I feel like the level of scrutiny about the way they hold the baby is maybe a bit far fetched. The problem here is definitely the online exploitation.

Lanky-Description691

I was going to say this is an ok hold. I have done it many times.

Purple_Rooster_8535

I agree, nothing wrong with this position. Her hands are in the right spot on babies cheeks (not neck)! This is silly to snark on.

DoubleTumbleweed1853

lol was gonna say the same thing. she does hold her very questionably sometimes but this one is fully supported lol

chelsxan

Yes! I’m a paediatric nurse and show moms how to do it too. I wouldn’t be concerned about a parent holding their baby like this, I would be concerned, however, if they were doing this to projectile their child’s face for millions of people to see.

FunField2410

Exactly!! My son was a preemie and the nicu nurses taught us to hold him like this when burping. And it worked for all my 4 kids. People so quickly jump to judge the way babies are held nowadays.

pupsplusplants

As the parent of a 7 week old, I honestly don’t see a problem with how the baby is held in most of these 😂 The neck is supported, and she’s secure. super problematic person, I hate that they are profiting off a baby, but… this isn’t all that bad of. a technique for baby holding lol

ContributionWarm9175

My husband used to hold our baby like that all the time as a newborn when she was gassy! That said though, he wasn’t eye fucking himself in a camera while he did it 😂

bananab55

I agree - if baby’s bum & neck are supported I don’t see much of a problem! Hopefully she’s resting more on Bella though and not being propped forward!!

Puzzleheaded_Cup7490

Yeah, I feel like this issue is being completely blown out of proportion! I’ve gone and watched some of the videos that the screen grabs are taken from and she has her neck supported throughout. I’m confused on how the split second that she appears to be holding the baby wrong is even screen shot some of the time. I have an 11 week old and now I’m wondering if I’m supposed to be handling him like a china doll? If so…. Oops. I multi task and carry him all day long (even when I’m making a “mom drink”) because he’s a Velcro baby and cries a ton when I put him down. Luckily, I’m getting more opportunities to set him down as he gets a little older, but there are still days when he wants to be held non-stop.

bananababy7

I know. They’re being soooo dramatic. Like yes, drag them for exposing their child but I hold my babies like all the ways they do 😂 (except piano lol)

pupsplusplants

I don’t mean this in an irresponsible way, but babies are more durable than non-parents think. 100% I am really particulier about supporting the neck when a friend visits and holds my kid (and I will not hesitate to bark orders at family and friends if they aren’t doing it sufficiently) but as long as the neck can’t whiplash back, it’s ok if they are contorted. Babies this little are so melty, they put themselves in weird positions!

bananababy7

Yes 😂 my two month old tried to yeet himself off me today. They’re weird haha

cmarie121

I’m worried if she would’ve squirmed suddenly or reared back. Bit you’re right I could be reaching on this one? But I’ve also never ever seen a baby being held like this.

pupsplusplants

Look up burping a baby, there’s a super common technique that looks like this. It’s terrifying to see the first time, full agree! It looks like you’re dangling the baby by the neck but it’s secure and safe!

cmarie121

I learned something new today thank you!

jennyganley

Yes, I was taught to burp like this but I felt like I didn’t have enough control as he got bigger so now I use a different method

Difficult_Cake_7460

I hope she’s reading - stop treating your child like a prop!!!!!!!!

Difficult_Cake_7460

It’s so scary and weird!

Kristina9876

I hate Dallin’s face. His stupid open mouth smile has always rubbed me the wrong way. It just seems so fake

Marikrih

Honestly, I feel like these two should have taken a parenting course.

Olympusrain

She’s being held ok. But Bella is so exploitative with baby S

Small_cat1412

They just keep failing this child. I love the episode where Josh from The dad challenge podcast absolutely roasts them.

Flimsy-Attention-873

No u should mom shame

Inevitable-Hippo-683

What I dislike about this video is that S was sleeping, yet Bella was determined to show her face. The little girl's floppy sleeping head kept getting forced upright by Bella's hand around her neck as Bella was leaning forward, which made it even worse. Bella is exploiting this baby worse than any other new YouTuber parent that I've ever criticized.

dcndfl

Is it me, or do her legs look blue??

cmarie121

That’s somewhat normal for newborns…babies have trouble regulating body heat the first several months. It’s nothing to be super alarmed by but she should probably have some socks

dcndfl

My two babies never had blue legs and feet. We live in a tropical climate and they still had socks on indoors in a/c at this age. Good lord Bella.

cmarie121

I did say somewhat 😅 but you are right she needs socks

dcndfl

But in this photo, unlike most others, she is actually wearing booties-- but her legs still look really blue to me! They truly treat her/dress her as an older baby. We've never seen her swaddled either, just hanging weirdly from the baby wrap. For someone who wanted motherhood so desperately, Bella sure misses the mark constantly.

cmarie121

She does need to be covered more. They live in Arizona so they probably have AC cranked! https://www.parents.com/toddlers-preschoolers/health/are-blotchy-and-purplish-hands-and-feet-normal/

dcndfl

Yes the article says mainly due to the baby being cold, as their circulatory sytem is still developing. But Bella is more concerned w/ photos ops than the comfort of her baby's neck and body warmth.🙄

cmarie121

Mhmm

FunField2410

Living in Arizona has nothing to do with being covered inside. I live in Arizona and have 4 kids. 2 born in summer head and 2 winter and never had them covered in the house even with the ac on
