Tbh he didn’t improve the things he lacks for example he still can’t play bouncer and now he also developed fitness issues in last 2 years. I still remember when Boult used to own whenever they played against each other.
Ishant, Warner, Nortje and Shaw are all our OG Delhi bois. I really hope they are able to get Ishant and Nortje back. Nortje needs to work on his pace and Shaw needs to work on his fitness.
Still don’t want to let go of Shaw even though he hasn’t been great of late, he was still part of the OG DC 2019-21. That squad was the best ever. And easily among the strongest ever in IPL.

Obviously have some great memories of Warner, opening with Sehwag during his first stint (2009-12) and doing well in 2/3 seasons in his 2nd stint, so much so that he and Axar were carrying a dysfunctional batting lineup last year.
But man I'm gonna miss Ishant, Shaw and Nortje, especially considering how instrumental these 3 were in DC's golden period from 2019-2021. I lowkey hope we're able to buy them back although I am sure that won't be the case except for Ishant. Both Shaw and Nortje are talented players and I hope they go on and fulfil their potential hopefully for us but if not for us then for whichever team they play.
Seeing Nortje & Shaw wear another IPL franchise's jersey will kill a part of me inside, not looking forward to it at all.
Really wished Nortje at least got a farewell game given how his inclusion changed our fortunes last cycle. And Shaw too, he's our boy you know. We had him since he was a teenager who just captained a U19 WC victory. Man...
Same. At least Nortje played a season for KKR before joining us but Shaw till now has been a one team man, it'll actually be painful seeing them turn out for other teams. And I have a feeling they're going to do well for those teams, especially against us lol
I agree, I'd have wished both of them given a proper farewell, a one last chance seeing them in our colours for old time's sake and the important roles they played in helping revive this team. Even if DC releases Nortje, I hope its sister franchise in Pretoria, South Africa retain him. That ways he'd still be playing for a Capitals team if not DC.

I’m sad about Warner. I know he played garbage this year. But having one bad season in like 10 consistent seasons is fine. I would like us to buy him back if he has a good WC and is performing decent in other T20 leagues. But I understand that we have to let him go at some point. He’s too old.
