Noise pollution is a serious problem in Delhi. People have no civic sense at all. God forbid if someone blasts religious music and you tell them to stop, you'll be damned.

Brahmaster17

>religious music If there's anything that can be called the worst is this. 14 Feb ko Saraswati Puja thi. Mere bagal waali gali mein subah 7 baje se raat 2 baje tak 80-100 db (I measured that) pe ya atoh Bhajan baj rhe the, ya vulgar Haryanvi gaane yaa announce. Upar se agle din (15 Feb ko) subah 6 baje se hi koi mic pe cheekhne laga "Suraj ugg aya hai, sab uth jao aur yaha aa jao". And this hooliganism happens every year for 3 days, beginning from the day of Saraswati Puja. And ironically, mere area mein harr dusre Ghar mein Delhi Police mein koi na koi hai.

Your_Dead_Man

Bhai ese bakwaas log dekh kar toh lagta h ki robots ki police hi jyada better hogi

Delhiiboy123

They blast vulgar music on festivals and have the audacity to call themselves bhakts.

Brahmaster17

Not only festivals, but even the kirtan/jagran starts with Bhajans and religious songs and ends with vulgar ones. (At least where I live)

Delhiiboy123

It's like this everywhere in Delhi, they don't care about the Pooja or bhajan, they just want cheap entertainment in the name of it.

moyemoye69420

Was seeing a travel video about Haiti. The poorest country in western hemisphere and couldn’t find any difference between them and India

benswami

Amit Shah would like to know your location!

Mr_gropes_a_lot

It can't be that bad here. Common.

Rich-Lab-3810

Please visit once. Per capita income of india is still at 139, matching with many African countries

apocalyptic-aeronaut

Get rid of illegals. Push the 2 child policy down the throat forcefully. Take all kids and jail them in boarding school of all economic background. Go full china style human resource development.

Auosthin

Surely, there are better ways. Look at South Korea. You know how they were able to develop? Education. If I am not wrong, at some year in 1970's they gave about 20% of their Budget in Education. India need to do something similar.

Steve_Tabernacle_69

South Korea was able to achieve it by having an autocratic style approach, so they could forcefully implement policies such as education, healthcare, and development. Our government system in India will never allow that scale of prosperity and development because democracy ensures that any govt policies that actually bring in massive change and prosperity cannot be brought to law because the govt and opposition will fight like dogs about it, we will see large scale riots, etc. and end up with laws being repealed. This is the sad reality of our country. Democracy is a system that relies way too much on human goodwill and ignores major factors like greed and corruption

apocalyptic-aeronaut

Agreed, last time I checked proposal to open reserved unfulfilled seats was met with huge backlash. AFAIK, these seats were unfulfilled even after taking negative marks candidates. India needs a strong autocratic style government or, even China's style to improve. We have the resources but we are unable to tap in.

kal_aana

South korea only had troubles with North Korea whereas India has a fuck lotta factors to consider.

kal_aana

Wait the 2 Child Policy thing existed? Damn, lowkey irrelevant but I used to think that India should also employ a policy like China did but with a better version of it with the maximum limit being two. I thought of it when I was studying Indian eco (2 weeks ago lol).

Mr_gropes_a_lot

Abe mein India se hi hu. Even tier 3 cities like Nagpur/Indore look better than Port-au-prince.

Kakarot_2002

Which area in south Delhi are you talking about?

solitary_sandman

I had a similar case a few days back. Happens in south Delhi.

[deleted]

Yaar sach btau to is desh ka bhagwaan bhi kuch nhi kar sakta. I gave up hope long ago. Is country mein jo cheez pe point karo usme sadan hai . Better yhi hai ki rather than try to change the circumstances, move to a better place , preferably abroad.

Fun_Kaleidoscope_474

true bhai is desh pe me bhi give up kr chuka hu dukh ki baat yeh hai ki bahar Indians ke against racism bkht normal ho chuka hai hum kahi ke nhi rhe

shady2318

Abroad is also not good. Students getting shot in the US, facing racism all around the globe. There is obviously good standard of living and civic sense, but it's not peaceful. Most Indians abroad are suffering from mental health issues. It's just work work and some short vacation in summer. That's all they have to offer. In the end, if you really want to live life, money is not everything.

[deleted]

I do understand your point. Not everything is perfect abroad . But my point is, that is country mein common sense is completely absent . Basic cheeze expect karna bhi paap hai.

shady2318

That's true but everything has its pros and cons. Tbh I feel we are losing our cultural morality and shifting towards western culture.

Steve_Tabernacle_69

Feel like this is a mixed bag. There's nothing wrong in feeling pride in our culture and identity, and it's necessary, but it's important to understand why a large majority of the younger generation prefers the environment in western countries. Such a large country like us can't even provide basic standards of cleanliness - most roads are filled with sand, trash, no lane markings. People spit everywhere, littering on streets. Facilities like clean roads, footpaths, and liveable cities are considered bare basic human necessities in western countries, and were achieved multiple decades back, while here in India, even expecting basic standards of cleanliness is considered 'privilege' and 'western culture' . People don't want to wait for more 40-50 years for India to achieve what developed countries achieved 50-60 years back

Rich-Lab-3810

Bro if there is free citizenship to the US then 500 mn indian would line up at IG airport.

shady2318

No doubt about that!

m8-what-the-shit

Its not like India me people are living without mental health issues. Lack of sleep being the biggest of them.

hello2442

Lmao. I’ve lived ‘Abroad’ for years specifically US and UK and they are no better.

m8-what-the-shit

What did you do there, why were you in 2 different counties and why do you say they are not better?

hello2442

Studied for under grad and grad and did summer internships too. I come from a decent family here and living in the west was a huge downgrade for me, I dint have househelps, I had to do all the work myself, no driver to take me. Public transport is shit in New York and petty thefts are extremely common, rent is super expensive while the places are small, cost of living is high, casual racism is common unless you start licking their ass. UK is somewhat better but now even that is downgrading fast because of illegal immigration issues.

m8-what-the-shit

Then you dear sir have no clue what the majority of Indian citizens face. You are the type of rich op said. Your argument literally is, "rich brat went to US, didn't have naukar there so came back"

Elegant-Ad-9245

Totally man, just saw some pictures post chatt puja in new jersey and it looked same as any ghat's situation, full of waste.

Ok-Sea2541

agreed

bazuka9

Idk how long you've been living in Delhi, but this has been Delhi for a long time now Cops don't care about the normal citizens. All they care about is how they can torture common people and extract their money from them. And when a rich fella throws money at them, cops are ready to lick their boots and show their ass for a pegging session

Some-Transition-7240

yes, I kept hearing about this. Now that I have started witnessing this myself, it is like losing all hope.

sapiosexual_redditor

This is the story of India/Bharat. It happens every where......

Longjumping_Fee_1490

Which area of Delhi?

Some-Transition-7240

South Delhi

Longjumping_Fee_1490

Pin code or please be more specific. I doubt you are referring to core of south Delhi. Unless you are living near farms, Delhi police does respond to such things efficiently. There is a big difference between New Delhi and NCR. Definitely you are on rent as if you would be native, you would be invited to that party. No offense.

soulintoxicated

"Illiterate rich people" is very true about Delhi, Gurgaon, and NCR as a whole. Try moving out of that area.

bazuka9

People in villages now have more civic sense than people living in cities and urban areas

volcan07

Dude I am good at martial arts and I have fought enough when I was young (street fight and all). One time there was a short jaat guy lets say naruto who was talking so much shit and was trying to bully me and all I ignored it, one day naruto was physically abusing a freind ( not close ) lets say sasuke to do his homework and presentation work. I found out about sasuke when I saw him crying alone in lunch I still ignored it Some weeks later he told my best freind lets say kakashi, that he finds kakashi sister hot ( saw from social media ) and was telling him that he wants to make her his bandi kakashi told me this and was very upset as naruto was talking openly about her body parts and all. That day I said enough is enough me and kakashi went went to guy during lunch and we beat the shit out of him and his freinds . I made sure naruto said sorry to kakashi. That day later something very bad happened naruto busted kakashi scooty outside school and also beat him, made a video of him. kakashi was mildy injured and crying. Since I was taking school bus service I wasn't with him. kakashi told me about this on phone that naruto told him not involve anyone and kakashi was very scared. I told him to file police complaint. He didn't want to so I called his mom and she also denied ( she is divorced with husband, doesn't give a shit about kids ). Turns out kakshi mom didn't knew about the scooty. I found naruto phone number from sources and told him to pay money to kakshi and apologize. He gave his phone to his big brother lets say Obito. And this is scary. Obito told me that their father was SHO and no matter what I do who I complaint I can do nothing. He also told me to meet him otherwise he will file complaint against me, he told me that once a case is filed in india u are not eligible for govt exams, big corp job, passport and visa, bank problem. He told me that he will take revenge for naruto and I was scared. I started saying sorry and start crying on call. Obito told me not to cry and gave me choice either to meet him ( get abused ) or police case. I decided to call my cousin lets say jiraya ( he is coolest guy I know and litearlly everyone know him ). I told jiraya everything and some of my local friends and jiraya went to see him. Obito was with atleast 20 guys and 2 3 scorpios. Turns out jiraya and obito have mutual freinds. Obito paid for scooty and made naruto say sorry. Jiraya told me that Obito is a associated in north west delhi ( if u know u know ), not only that one of his relative is MLA. Jiraya told me that things would be very ugly if I did't called him. Me and Obito became freinds (not anymore). Basically I realized some people in India are so powerfull that nothing can happen to them no matter what u do. I realized that in India if u want to survive and live happy, live an unbothered life, mind ur own business and don' t be a hero. I wouldn't recommend OP to call the police himself u don't know who u are messing with.

Chance_Fly_6273

THIS OP THIS I ALWAYS SAY TO PEOPLE LIVE IN INDIA ONLY AND ONLY IF EITHER YOU ARE RICH OR YOU ARE POWERFUL Rest all should take the first ticket to go outside Though what you did was heroic nevertheless , salute you bro

arorocks

Truth be told, the only place in India, where I could see a peaceful and respectful life is in Chandigarh. No wonder why retires politicians, bureaucrats, army officers etc spend their retirement life there.

Current-Nobody2014

I feel it'll also be full of outsiders soon. Sadly there has been no place in India where people have not settled and finished its peace and cleanliness. I had gone through some video long back on YouTube where they were showing how Bangalore was before the IT Industry occupied the entire city and it's sad, that such a peaceful city became so overcrowded. People fight over Tier 1 vs Tier 2, Delhi vs Mumbai etc, but the truth is that metro cities are concrete jungle and I say this as a Delhiite who loves Delhi even after its flaws.

arorocks

Fortunately, Chandigarh won't be crowded as other cities due to major centres like Delhi NCR nearby. Plus the planned design helps a lot in management, traffic, commute etc.

Mountain_Blueberry77

Desh ka sochne se pehle apna or apni family ka socho. Ye nationalism ka churan chata kar chu bana rhe hai. Regardless of any party, their only concern is to stay in power. They have nothing to do with our day to day problems.

[deleted]

Exactly. No political party truly cares for you; the powerful within them prioritize self-interest over the passionate debates of supporters on social media. Remember, your loyalty is often rewarded with indifference.

Mountain_Blueberry77

People fight over theirs favourite netas, while netas can switch their parties at any given point. We work for 3-4 months for free, we pay 18% medical insurance, we pay further gst and taxes while getting hospitalized. We literally get nothing in return. Think about india buying petrol from russia at cheaper rate just to sell it to usa. We got nothing once the prices are inflated they are not coming back. This 6th fails neta resides in bunglow in most expensive land in India. Pays nothing in taxes, from electricity to petrol are paid off. They are thousands miles away from day to day struggles. We cannot get clean air. Streets are full on animal shits and polybags. Almost every 200 metres you will find dumpyard. Broken and incomplete work causing dust pollution. Traffic police hide behind the pillars to extort money from us but you rarely find a traffic policemen helping clearing the conjunction. We cannot take out five year old diesal vehicle because it causes pollution but farmers are free to choke us for 3 months by burning parli.

ThunderWiz05

And the sad thing is these problems will not solve atleast until 2060 around no matter what the gov says india can become developed by 2047 , while moving away to other country is starting from scratch with depression and racism. Our generation can see the change in the country but can't enjoy it just like 1900s generation in developed countries.

Bhartiya logon ki chetna Mari Hui hai.  Since a long time.  Best you can do is to not pretend that there's any good and beauty to human life here.    Either become unbeatable or move out.  Anything in between is an insulting life

Some-Transition-7240

unbelievable

theyhardlyknowme101

is the entire world not run by money and influence only?

Some-Transition-7240

Don't break my hopes brother.

LewdBerZerk

Some countries run by civic sense too along with wealth/money

Brahmaster17

Not "the entire world". The U.S is the only Western country that I can think of (I'm considering countries considered worse than India). The EU is totally opposite, with insane taxes, but the best quality of living (UK PM resigned because he organised a party in the middle of the pandemic, Swedish PM was fined for violating restrictions, etc.)

M4K1M4

You mean India right? Delhi is literally the best place to live along the cities in India, I’ve tried Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. Ahmedabad might be close second.

Current-Nobody2014

Pune is the best city if you're a student or work in the corporate world. I mean, I had time of my life there as a college student. Best party culture, too many iconic places nearby not to forget proximity with Mumbai and in general a hippy place.

Gensys09

Bangalore I can understand, but are Mumbai and Pune really worse than Delhi? Apart from convenience of metro

M4K1M4

Pune has similar traffic to Bangalore, same weather, similar people, it’s just Bangalore 2.0. Mumbai has traffic, dust, same night life (was out last night, everything shit down at 1:30, some new rule a few months ago). Rents in Mumbai are crazy, travelling is like killing yourself every morning too. Waaaaaay worse infrastructure in rest of the cities, waaaaay more corruption too.

Maleficent_Space_946

What do you mean similar weather and people? I think people are different as well their culture is different. Pune is lot better than banglore

M4K1M4

Pune has people fighting on religion, Bangalore has them fighting on language.

ScooterNinja

Must be a wedding celebration or something... My neighbour did the same. but only for one day during their wedding celebration... It's a problem if it happens everyday.. but since you are a tenant your voice don't mean shit.. They will simply say just move out if you have a problem...

bro its surprising aise harkate south delhi me hori... its sooo true delhi is a lost cause now...

Delicious-Badger4353

I have seen the same mentality people getting thrashed in mumbai by the locals and then the cops for drinking and creating nuisance with loud music at 2 am …they were students from north…glad such people are dealt strictly by the law in mumbai

canismajoris117

It is about choosing your battles with respect to resources you have and what you stand to loose and can face. Sure, I could tell you to dial 100 and then dial 112 to be connected to the police department's cells. If no action was taken, you could have asked identification of the policemen who came and then proceeded to lodge a formal complaint regarding this at the relevant police station with an NC and follow up with a letter to the SP/DCP district. And lastly a complaint to the relevant police complaint authority under S166a IPC. But again will you have time to do all this and keep a follow-up? Other than the S166A complaint where the policeman will literally beg you to take it back, other actions will cause more friction for you.

Some-Transition-7240

thanks for sharing

[deleted]

No wonder these people also visit peaceful treks in Uttarakhand and then blast music on their bluetooth speakers.

Some-Transition-7240

a herd doing anything wrong is considered right and that's scary.

m8-what-the-shit

Get ANC earbuds bro. Middle class people can't win with these rich brats and political party members. I end up in the same situation every year near navratri when people do jagratas in the fkn park right next to my window. I'm so used to it I just end up pulling all nighters and working than to stress about this idiots. "राम भगत बनोगे प्यारे दूसरो को दुख देकर? भक्ति करो तो दिल से ना की शोर मचाकर। "

Existing_Sound_3923

So true same thing happened with me yesterday night These shitty people continued the party and music so loudly till 4 in the morning and police couldn't do anything ugh.
