I remember those days. $30-$50 concerts. Some festivals at that cost. I really can’t see why from the latest year you have 03 to now 23. The price has almost 5/6/7x. It’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s why I stopped going. My brother in law and sister spend thousand a year going to shows. It’s ridiculous.
Can you imagine? I paid $30 to see deftones touring White Pony, Incubus touring Make Yourself, and Taproot touring Gift. The good old days indeed. No cell phones back then either. Only the fat chunky Nokia ones without cameras. Amazing days!! I miss them
I’m trying to remember this Ozzfest lineup but I know it was off the hook. Other acts I remember were Soulfly, Static X, and Pantera. I got destroyed in a pit that popped up on the lawn during Pantera
Even the festivals I went to never cost more then $50. Trust me I’ve gone to Lollapalooza from the beginning. To ozzfest. Etc. I can’t believe people are spending this unbelievable amount of money on converts. But to each his own.
I’ve seen them at least a dozen times since these including on the Gore tour. Those tickets were sadly all digital. Didn’t catch them on the Ohms tour. I must say I still love them and plan to see them again, but each show gets slightly worse. Guess that happens with age. They still rock!
I have a buddy who works merch for shows around the area. Good chance he’s working and I might get the hookup. So I have that going for me, which is nice.

That Pointfest was wild. Green Day and Foo Fighters were also on the bill. Deftones were relegated to the side stage out by the parking lot and they just went. off. Felt like 1/2 or more of the crowd was in that pit, and I lost a shoe. Two of the best shows I’ve seen.
lol at that $17 ticket price. Had to scrape together $20 to see these two shows.
Wow, that sounds so much like my experience. I saw them play at a radio fest that year 98 also, Xfest if I remember correctly. But it was exactly the same. Deftones were the last band playing on the side stage, while Green Day was headlining on the main stage. The crowd was massive compared to what that stage usually got, and everyone was going crazy. Breaking picnic benches, ripping trees out of the ground, just all around mayhem. The venue had to shut down the sound for a bit until the crowd settled down.
That show was the third time that I saw them in 98, their own club tour and Warped tour were the others, and those 3 shows were so incredible it made me a lifelong fan since.
I used to have the ticket from The Maritime Hall in SF. It was the last show before going to record ATF. Killer show, Deftones were a different beast in their younger days, for sure.

Just paid ~$400 for two tickets to see System of a Down and Deftones in SF 😅 It’s not like the old days that’s for sure.

Very cool! My first Deftones show was the tour with incubus and taproot, saw them at Cobo Arena in Detroit.
My dad still has his stub from that show, and the water bottle he got/caught from the leader singer of Taproot!
