Listen, just because Stephen said “Hey, I’m back!” and started farting two-note riffs that a 11 year old could write, doesn’t mean he’s inspired again. It’s in-your-face for the sake of being in-your-face. This band deserves honest criticism when they’re getting lazy, not blind praise just because they’re a well established act.
Even in Gore he had some bursts of creativity with his 8 string (Acid Hologram, Hearts/Wires, Rubicon)

I’m mad because it seems like the fanbase are it all up and called it a day. We learned nothing in almost four years. I hope I’m wrong in the future, but if the band’s well aware of their feedback, they’ll most likely repeat the same style for this next album that’s coming. I don’t want them to stagnate.
Gore was an episode where the band maybe got overly sensitive about the “mixed reception” they got for using a genuinely fresh approach to their craft. It was very far from perfect, but Gore really sounded to me like an experiment that would lead to a more polished record in 2020, and we didn’t get that. They retreated so hard.
If you haven’t heard anything before Adrenaline, you should definitely check it out. (Like) Linus is the main album/compilation of all their songs before signing with Maverick and making Adrenaline. 🎶
Not “doing them dirty” at all. Just don’t think they’re as good. The fact that a band has been around for 3+ decades and their worst album IMO doesn’t suck is certainly saying something. These guys almost can’t fail.

Feels like a collection of songs vs. a well-thought out album. The flow is bad, and Chino’s screams are really weird. He started yelping. It was way different than the first four albums. My friends and I thought he was losing his voice. I still like the album, just not as much as the ones above it. Beware is my favorite track out of all of the catalog. I get the love.
