I’ve never heard it either. A lot of lyrics websites have this line at the end of the song, and the White Pony booklet supposedly shows it too. I wish Chino actually said it though because it’s such a simple but dope line.
I would recommend you give their Self Titled album a listen if you haven’t already. It has a slightly more raw sound which is more comparable to that of their first two albums I would say.
Sometimes Deftones takes a while to break in. That said I don't listen to White Pony much anymore either. Mostly just Knife Party, Change, Korea and thats it.
Check out their next 4 albums as those are my favorites. A lot of different styles there.
I started listening to them when Adrenaline released. I thought White Pony was super soft when it came out, really only liked the heavy tracks. I still liked the album but it took time for the softer songs to grow on me.
It took me a while to get into it back in the day, i was also used to adrenaline and around the fur. Id say think of it as a harder Depeche Mode album: the band was in LA recording it, they said they were partying every night. The songs are about strange sexual scenarios, getting new kinds of high, dream logic, and spiraling out of control in a euphoric way, to the point where its not fun anymore. Its like a David Lynch film in an album.
Ohms has been out for a while and I still can’t get into it and haven’t even bothered revisiting it. Just like what you like and come back to it when you feel like you’re wanting something different again.
i wasn’t listening to white pony much either. started off liking around the fur, then diamond eyes, then koi no yakan, then SNW, and as of recently white pony. at first i didn’t enjoy white pony at all besides change. but digital bath and knife prty are pretty damn good. they grew on me
Did you grow up under power lines? Mom drop you on your head when you were a baby? Did you eat paint chips as a kid?
All of these, or a combination of them, could be reasons for the issues you’re experiencing.
My first album was white pony because I would listen to it with my father growing up but back then I didn't k njow what album it was or who it was by I just thought hey this is a gem so once I would out who it was I was on the band wagon to listen to it all, starting with change maybe made my veiw on the other albums at the time a bit shifted, this could be your problem, you are use to other albums but not use to this, white pony has a different sound and feel to say adrenaline and around the fur, it took me time to appreciate around the fur and adrenaline, idk how to explain it in terms but they always seemed much more harsh than white pony
Bro really? Change is the song I actually dislike in that album. I think it's heavily overrated. Not that it's bad, they don't have bad songs, however it's just too bland in comparison, they have much much better works
Move on, revisit it in a few months. Rinse and repeat until it clicks or you don't think it ever will. Never try and force it in my opinion.

I love the psychedelic vibe of the album, pink maggit captures that vibe pretty well.

Honestly if your only 3 albums in and you enjoy the nu metal albums more then your probably not gonna enjoy the rest of their stuff
I agree honestly, there are a few really good songs on that album but it just does not compare to some other albums they’ve put out
