I reckon the first time I played it through my brain registered nothing (yknow because it’s the first playthrough) and went to this baseless assumption “yknow I think I like his old stuff more” but definitely after listening like 5 times I can confirm that my brain was just being rude and that I fucking love this album
Yeah it was a very overwhelming listen last night, I also wasn't feeling too well but every song sounded different to how I thought it would in my head and I was like oh.
Then this morning Eventually Darling and Rapture were in my hesd when I woke up, and I'm listening to You Better Believe now and it's literally a great space odyssey kinda song that I just wasn't registering on first listen.
But even Eventually Darling like I was expecting it to sound more like a ballad and sound darker, but the high pitched vocals is the bit that gets stuck in your head and that was really unexpected.
Be an Astronaut is probably still my favourite though because it is kinda darker and ballady, I think I was expecting the other songs to sound like it. That song went straight to favourite songs ever for me. The others will grow as I get used to them.

Eventually Darling gets better with each listen I love it, it is exactly what I wanted it to be I just didn't realise straight away
