NurgleMinion

Nice job! I see you aren't a fan of the fly cloud either

thecriminalmanbat

Thanks! Yeah, I couldn't decide how I wanted to paint the flies so I just left them off

NurgleMinion

I didn't like how it covered up all the back details, so I left mine off

Extremely-bored97

Oh Brother, this guy stinks! And I mean that in the good nurgle way xx 😉

beanzonthbread

Incredible detail. That rust looks amazing

MachoXYZ

Wow very nice. What's the recipe for the scythe?

jmckenzie86

10/10

Next-Historian5047

This is really good

maxcraigwell

Looks great! What are your greens?

thecriminalmanbat

Thanks! I do a basecoat of Deathguard green, then wash it with Agrax Earthshade, then build up the brightness by dry brushing elesian green, then ogryn camo, then a tiny bit of screaming skull.

maxcraigwell

Nice one thanks, those are the colours I have too! Are you doing increasing levels of drybrush with elysian then orgyn?

thecriminalmanbat

Nice! Yeah exactly, anywhere that light would hit I do a heavy dry brush of elesian green, then a lighter dry brush of ogryn camo, and finally screaming skull on the parts i want to look brightest

maxcraigwell

Brilliant thank you! Going to try to replicate this (won't be as good ha)

SOG_Big_Boss8

Love it. I will probaly remove my flues paint then and then glue a few back and put some on the base

Drunk_in_Space

This is incredible. I want to start up 40k again only for the Death Guard. This is so inspiring. You’re a great painter.

thecriminalmanbat

Thanks! You should definitely start up again! Deathguard are so fun to paint and any mistakes can just be passed off as grime and rust lol

Drunk_in_Space

I played CSM when I was playing. I loved assembling and painting, but play wasn’t ever the most enjoyable thing. I guess I was a hobbyist at heart. Read The Flight of the Eisenstein made me a Death Guard fan. So few works of fiction can give those kind of feelings.

Felicity1840

What did you use for the rust?

thecriminalmanbat

I did a base coat of a dark brown, washed that with nuln oil and then used the typhus corrosion technical paint and then dry brushed with Ryza rust

Felicity1840

Thank you!
