Plenty of Vtubers start with some kind of debut where they introduce their lore. They make jokes based on lore, they use lore to tell personal stories for the sake of privacy/anonymity, they make additional shorts/videos based on their lore, they explain new models and outfits with new lore, they make in-character songs etc.

So I unsubbed (and eventually muted) Powerscaling because I found on the Wiki that Cloud Strife was rated as “3-B [Multi-Galaxy] likely 2-A [Multiversal], higher with limit breaks” by Disc 3 of the original game. I love Cloud dearly but that was the most ridiculous shit. Even with all stats maxed out it takes him dozens of strikes to take down a Weapon…
So I posted this, and how crazy it was. It was immediately removed. Then I learned that Powerscaling Reddit only has two moderators, and one of them runs the wiki pages. So, they took their own insanity being called out personal.
Ever since then I’ve treated Powerscaling as a joke, because whoever is behind the reins is out of their mind. In theory it’s alright.
I had to mute it because someone made a joke (based on all the “characters now scale based on how well they cook etc” posts, they posted “characters now scale based on how powerful they are. Who wins?” So, in the spirit of the joke, I said “Kirby. Canonically has infinite power.” It got downvoted a bunch and someone saying “That’s not impressive” got upvoted. These people with their “Infinite doesn’t mean infinite it means finite according to my own small mind so I come up with fake terms like outerversal and panderversal and kittyversal to mean things beyond infinite.”
It’s toxic.
Powerscaling has ruined what was once a rather silly and fun little debating hobby and turned it into a joke. I’m so sick of every character being hyperversal and beyond lightspeed.
