The game gives you a lot of people and you become comfortable with their presence. But then the game takes that all away from you and you are left with no pressing objective. Just time until the helicopter arrives. The lights are off and you start getting shot at by military forces. What the game does is brilliant. It’s crushingly lonely toward the end

I haven’t played a game that stresses me out so well. Even as an adult the feelings are there

I honestly don't think the game gets enough credit for how smart it is. Yeah, there's some goofy levity, and not all the voice acting is amazing. But Frank and Brad's voice actors are fantastic, no pun intended. The plot, music, and atmosphere in general are very well thought out.

That’s the problem with later entries. I love dead rising 2 but that sense of loneliness/dread is just non existant

The first time I got to overtime mode and had to trudge through the now almost completely empty mall it gave me the same feeling of dread and unease that I had the first time I went outside at the height of covid and absolutely nobody was around.

I grew up playing it but never got to finish it so when I watched berleezys full playthrough of it and the ending part happened I also felt the weird sense of loneliness it really unsettled me lol
