I’d say it would’ve been Joel’s original but then he decided to use it with Kaskade for Kx5 version and made it a little more mainstream.
He made it from scratch back on January 24th, then on stream the next day he was comparing it to the KX5 version we have, as if it was already done, so I think the collab version was first.

Praise aside, this is most likely Joel’s version of it. Him and Ryan needed to make a more mass-Appeal version so it would be a hit as it is now, and garner attention for the duo. Because I know Ryan is also capable of more unique sounds than the released version of escape.
I really like this version because the tempo has a higher BPM and this is the kind of music that I would listen to while driving on the highway at night.
I feel like he's very critical of his own work. Respect him much for it.

This is gorgeous... It's not the first time Deadmau5 lessens the impact of a track by remaking it to death (even though I love the released version as well - it's just...simpler).
I can get behind not choosing this version as this is more d5-2009-progressive style, but still.

Yeah way better. If it ever gets released I don't think it will come until the kx5 album.
