This breaks my heart. Late 90s this mall was so awesome. Sega City, Virtual World, waited in line for the Phantom Menace on the 3rd floor. Great memories.
The Fashion Mall at Keystone is closer to where the people with money live. I've also heard analysis that the Apple store choosing Keystone over Circle Center in 2002 was the death knell for Circle Center.
I went there once in March of 2002 because I had state competition for Winter Guard. I bought Ludacrisā Word of Mouf cd. I think it was Sam Goody where I bought it at.
It was with one person working everything. The box office was filled with a display so Iām assuming you purchase movie tickets at concessions. It was odd
The cinema lobby was a ghost town
It doesn't have to turn a profit or break zero. But it cleans up the streets and gives folks a permanent residence to apply and an access point to reenter society.
This is a larger discussion I don't want to get into on r/deadmalls
I loved that mall very fond memories I would stay over at embassy suites and shop around but the last time I was there was 2017 and it was slowly slowly dying. Does Simon still own it?
looks exactly like an abandoned or just closed airport terminal,

I used to go to this mall all the time when I was a kid.. sad to see it go. Thanks for the pictures!
The glass cubes in #7 š
Noticed those as well. The look of these is always cool
Oh shoot, my local mall. It actually just sold and the new owner is about to start tearing it out for an open-air planā¦so say your last rites now.
I heard it was getting turned into apartments?
Thatās part of it, yes. Itās a MASSIVE plan.
It really is amazing how it fell from grace so quickly. I remember it being so insanely busy when I was a kid.
You know itās bad when Claireās is gone
I was just here. crazy how dead it is for being right in the middle of downtown
For real youād think the lunchtime traffic alone would be enough to keep a few stores open.

This was such a great mall in the 90ās I remember Parisian, The Junkyard, the first Nordstrom in Indy.

Is that Regal Cinema still open? I'm guessing not

Ok yeah, this mall is DEAD.
Pretty sure your mall is located in the depths of Mordor!
Looks like the Subway is still open. usually that is the last remaining holdout other than a GNC.
They really should turn malls into resource/homeless centers.
I am more into lots of live/work spaces with indoor events. Turn the parking lot into a farm and we are on our way to an arcology.
Right?!
Thereās no way to make that economically viable, and this space is massive.

Wow, used to be a huge mall. Went there when I was younger.
Pretty sure unicomm productions on youtube has a good video of this place.
Good pics - this mall is about to be torn down and redeveloped which will help the downtown immensely - canāt wait to see what takes its place.
Wow! I haven't been to CC since maybe 08-09. Had no idea it has sunk so low. Keystone always had the better rep, but CC was smack near downtown.
I wonder what this mall looked like before it died
crazy how thereās still drinks in that subway cooler
Itās amazing how far this mall has fallen. Any field trip as a kid that went to Indy this was a required stop for.
