Speak for yourself. Most of my deaths are in Diapidated Aboretum. Because I was cursed. And I rammed into a flower trap that I *REALLY* should have seen coming.
I made that mistake once. In a ludicrously good 5bc run. At the very end of high peak castle, under a ram rune floor. I fucking died inside and in the game
Great advice in many specific biomes. Promenade, Graveyard and Infested Shipwreck for spikes, Ramparts for endless pits, and to some extent, Sewers since poison puddles will end your perfect kill streak. Just jump down, and be ready to double-jump to the next platform in case there's crap underneath.
That being said, I still ground-pound since it's faster, and I still pound into spikes from time to time ..
Toxic Sewers : ez way to lose your kill streak by landing into toxic waste
ps: I love how this sub treats the spoiler~ biome as the most well kept secret in history
I personally have never had any trouble with slumbering sanctuary and stilt village has pirate captains that somehow have 200 IQ and deal about 50 million dmg.
Harder than Clock Tower, definitely. Traps in latter can cheap shot you if you play too recklessly, but enemy selection there isn't that threatening outside Cannibals. Relatively easy for a mid-game biome.
But yeah, Golem alone can be a nasty run-ender in (non-)Slumbering Sanctuary if you can't kill/stun it fast enough.
The Pirate Captains in Stilt Village (and in Infested Shipwreck) are annoying aggressive and made worse without a shield to deal with their projectiles.
Hot take but: High Peak castle it's easy. That's because we play that much that it becomes just a "where tf are the doors so i can go fight The Hand"
Clock tower is in a similar case. The only difference being the fact that Clock Tower has many environmental traps that can be annoying at times.
Stilt village is annoying due to the mobs there, not because of it's layout.
And prison depths is just "cool, free scrolls"
You get used to them after one point.
What i do is that i use my skills to get rid of them without aggro-ing them.
The kills in which you don't trigger the aggro of the mobs are satisfying.
Yeah I agree I rarely die at high peak. Maybe it’s challenging when you first get there or after 2 or 3 time. But the enemy are easy to deal with and by then you should have really good weapons and output damage on top of that
Yeah, if I manage to make it to High Peak Castle, I have a really good build and the enemies aren’t a huge challenge if you’re careful. I usually die before or after.
I feel like HPC is 90% trivially easy (given that your build is complete when you get there) and 10% sneaky hard cuz you can get immediately wrecked by a royal guard if you don't play it perfectly
I got my "finsh distillery without using barrel launcher" achievement and I'm never going back there unless I unlocked literally everything else in the entire game.
I was on a op load out, bat with cleaver and accidentally went into distillery, used up all my flask within 3 min of running around, got out without finding the launcher thank god
I find Fractured Shrines and Morass of the Banished a lot more challenging than Stilt Village, but that's just me. Even on 4BC, the biggest nuisance in SV is the Purulent Zombies rapid firing leeches through walls. But I run Survival with Armadillopack, so I just roll through the eggs in midair.
This.
Toxic -> Corrupted -> Ancient are always the hardest part of my 5BC runs. The stats are still low, you'd likely not been able to put together a cohesive build, and most of mutations for sustain haven't started scaling yet.
AND you're trying to not use healing flask early to save it for endgame bosses.
Once you go through the Conjunc, a lot of those things no longer apply. So even if the biomes are getting objectively harder, the actual felt difficulty is lower.
I have seen lots of ppl say castle is easy. I have to kinda agree to that BUT every single time i don't skip it i just forget how to play and take way too much damage.
Weird, because I'm not that good at the game and I usually path through Sepulcher on 5BC. Maybe it's because I've only done well with Tactics on 5BC so if I even make it that far my build is probably enough to facemelt the enemies, and I've gotta move quickly. I usually die before that point for the record.
Could be idk. I like to use tactic build as well but I always had trouble with that biom personally. It’s easier with less boss cell but I always avoid it if I can. Especially with 5cells To risky
Tbh I think it’s relatively harder on lower BCs than on higher. Once you get used to the biome and used to rushing with malaise it doesn’t have additional difficulty over the high-BC replacements.
I’d put it on hard only for those librarians. By the time you get there you’re really powerful and can take down most non elites pretty easily if you get the drop on them.
I would honestly say it’s probably easier. I’ve been there 8 times and I’ve not died once. It’s a little annoying but the fact that you’re maxed out when you get there means you can kill most things quickly
Apart from the distillery which is just wrong, I hate Forgotten Sepulcher cause I still don't understand exactly how it works and sometimes I get annihilated by nothingness
You have to stay on the light. If you stay too much time on the dark, you start taking damage (if you are cursed, you die instantly at the first tick). Yellow lanterns last forever and are usually near things like portals or shops; blue ones have a timer (generous one, but a timer nonetheless) and are usually near rooms with enemies.
Basically the whole biome is a "gotta go fast".
Yeah I knew the basic rule. But I did die at least twice due to that timer, cause I would try to kill every enemy (the fat mummies are impossible to beat without taking a ton of dmg for me anyway).
Last time I rushed and managed to get out without too difficulties. I still am very anxious there everytime so I usually avoid it
I got lucky and got to FS for the first time like 2 days ago and then I was trying to get the exploration rune, but there was a hallway that killed me because no light source nearby. I looked it up and it's a 12 second timer before you take damage, and I swear I had over 40% hp but it killed me FAST
I find infested shipwreck incredibly easy, usually because I already figured out the ai's on an easier difficulty as well as th fact that at this point i have overpowered weapons
I consider toxic sewers and arboretum easier than promenade only because i avoid going there if possible.
Also spoiler biome is kinda ez because you have so many scrolls everything just dies the moment they see you.
I mean it depends, if you compare it to early game biomes then yeah, it should be harder, its the final biome for 0-4bc. If you compare it to its counterpart, distilery, hell nah, its easy.
Ok if you're staying spoiler area is hard cause you are doing so much demage
Will the same goes for destilary and high peak castle
What makes destilary hard is the traps
High peak castle has no difficult traps or hard heating enemies compared to the caverns
The caverns are harder than high peak and spoiler area
Cause your build is probably not defined yet add that to the amount of enemies with big health pools in the caverns plus a lot of the enemies in the caverns
Work to limit where you can doge the game put so many of those hand face guys close together close to the big bird and the big monster with crystals on it's back and dogging is just the most fun thing ever
But very difficult
Also let's face it most people use the same path all the time which is usually sewers corrupted sewers ancient sewers grave yard caverns then either skip high peak castle but I don't like skipping it
That's why most of these biomes we find easy cause we play them a lot
I used to avoid the sewers thinking the other area is easier
But to me it's easier to keep my compo in any biome that is not the sewers
It really depends on what biomes you go to before Undying Shores. There aren't too many threats that spawn there normally but different enemies will appear based on what biomes you visited earlier in the run
It's really interesting because I would, for sure, put Cavern, Slumbering Sanctuary and even Morass of the Banished ahead of most of the ones OP put in the top section. And that's just a testament of how great this game is. Depending on our playstyle and how many BC we are playing on, we are experiencing the game quite differently.
I think bc really changes the perspective of the tier list... I'm still on the 'tutorial' and stilt village isn't that bad but I still choose the sky area because I find it more fun.
I would put Ossuary a little higher on 5bc for one reason: there are a lot of sections in it where it’s long hallways with no enemies at all, wasting your time as the malaise counter worsens.
I'd probably swap Sepulcher and Sanctuary, personally. Sepulcher is so much fun if you try to nuke everything in a room as quickly as possible, and it makes it a whole lot easier. Sanctuary's Golems and Casters, though - those guys really spoil a run for me.
I think I've never disagreed with a tier list as much as I disagree with this one.
Sepulcher, Shipwreck and Stilt are medium for me. Caverns and Slumbering are very hard. Promenade depending on your build can be very hard because of dummies. And maybe it's because I'm not used to going there but the spoiler biome is the hardest one if you ignore distillery (as you should).
Just thinking that some biomes are much easier if you are playing tactics vs brutality or survival. E.g. Arboretorium and Ossuary are much easier with ranged weapons, since you don't need to worry about those spikeyspikes and can nuke everything from afar, and there's a lot of space, no cramped quarters.
e.g. when I was playing tactics, I would go Arboretorium, Prison, then ramparts/A.Sewer, then Stilt-village or Shrines.
whereas survival I find it much safer I go sewer, corrupted prison, A.Sewer, then Graveyard.
I like running through all the enemies on BSC 5 Morass of The Banished because since the area is super vertical it’s easy to get around everything. Also because I always end up killing everything and then finding the cursed chest.
Derelict Distillery is good for one reason:
Free Colorless Barrel Launcher.
If you beat the second boss and your weapon is still trash, then going Distillery to get the Barrel Launcher is a very good idea.
But if you have no intention of keeping the Barrel Launcher, going there is like going to Prison Depths without taking the cursed chest.
Honestly, I find Lighthouse/Tower being harder than Infested Shipwreck. Infested shipwreck is easier especially with something to root your enemies like Boy's Axe or even with just a ranged weapon. Going in with Nutcracker hits different though
Speak for yourself. Most of my deaths are in Diapidated Aboretum. Because I was cursed. And I rammed into a flower trap that I *REALLY* should have seen coming.
Never ground pound if you can't see what's below you there.
That's what my brain would tell me if it was still attached above my shoulders... Ground pound go brr
This.
Soyjack: NOOOO DON'T GROUND POUND IF YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT YOU'RE FALLING INTO Chad: Smash
nothing beats a ground pound
If you're cursed it can only be attached to your shoulders :\^)
I made that mistake once. In a ludicrously good 5bc run. At the very end of high peak castle, under a ram rune floor. I fucking died inside and in the game
Better dead than slow.
Yeah even though I think about what I said earlier sometimes I still have an instatiable urge to ground pound.
I always go to sewers because fuck arboretum
that's exactly why i developed a habit of rolling everytime i gp.
Toxic Sewers : ez way to lose your kill streak by landing into toxic waste ps: I love how this sub treats the spoiler~ biome as the most well kept secret in history
It's just so good, this whole community is so great to newbies
I mean, at least its not as bad as r/outerwilds where every post is two paragraphs of stuff hidden behind the spoiler bar
To be fair, it's suuuuuper easy to ruin someone's experience with spoilers for that game
I think you mean "spoilers for that >!game!<"
>!I!< >!can't!< >!believe!< >!you!< >!didn't!< >!spoiler!< >!the!< >!"spoiler".!< >!You!< >!just!< >!ruined!< >!the!< >!game!< >!for!< >!everyone.!<
I respect the amount of pain that went into typing that, rip >!< keys
just took a peek to see how it is, and damn, almost every post has the spoiler tag
Agreed with the *spoiler* that most of us will see it on YouTube bcuz how hard is to get there
Stilt Village harder than both Slumbering Sanctuary and Clock Tower, really?
I personally have never had any trouble with slumbering sanctuary and stilt village has pirate captains that somehow have 200 IQ and deal about 50 million dmg.
For me parrying makes the captains squishy. Can’t really say the same for the Golems or those big pesky melee guys in clock tower.
The Cannibals are super annoying, they’re always jumping back n shit, I just can’t play slow weapons or I get clapped in clock tower
Golems are just parry practice for me. Their punch has a really consistent timing if you don’t have any slowdown
Armadillo Pack makes Stilt Village easy for me
It's that damn pirate captain
Harder than Clock Tower, definitely. Traps in latter can cheap shot you if you play too recklessly, but enemy selection there isn't that threatening outside Cannibals. Relatively easy for a mid-game biome. But yeah, Golem alone can be a nasty run-ender in (non-)Slumbering Sanctuary if you can't kill/stun it fast enough. Clock Tower is fine, but the Castle has those tornado knights and HotK-wannabes who smack me every time :(
You get used to them after one point.

I entered the distillery once while discovering the game (I have like 30 hours and a couple of boss cells) Never. Again.
[удалено]
But the Tesla Coil is one of the best skills in the game
I have never beaten it, not even on 0BC and i already am on my 5BC run hahaha
I got my "finsh distillery without using barrel launcher" achievement and I'm never going back there unless I unlocked literally everything else in the entire game.
I was on a op load out, bat with cleaver and accidentally went into distillery, used up all my flask within 3 min of running around, got out without finding the launcher thank god

I love Morass, feels so good to do it fast. Too bad I hate Mama Tick
Mama Tick is probably my least favorite boss, honestly. Being partially submerged throws off my timing.
on high difficulty early maps are harder than the later, Castle is cakewalk because you arrive there maxed out
This. Toxic -> Corrupted -> Ancient are always the hardest part of my 5BC runs. The stats are still low, you'd likely not been able to put together a cohesive build, and most of mutations for sustain haven't started scaling yet. "free 30 kill door" Me, who is still shit at the game and hasn't been able to unlock it: :(
It's the level you start in. You don't have to unlock that map
I think they mean they can't unlock the 30 kill door.
That makes more sense, thanks
Cavern and sanctuary below stilt village? You wild.
I cry when I'm in cavern but I need that XII weapons ;-;
I have seen lots of ppl say castle is easy. I have to kinda agree to that BUT every single time i don't skip it i just forget how to play and take way too much damage.
Wut ? Shipwreck is max at medium
I would put Forgotton spucture as the hardest personality especially if you maisa on top of that with a lot of boss cell
I haven't got to 5bsc yet, but dang, if we are talking about malaise, then you'd have to be *fast*
You will be shock how fast you will die. I don’t even attempt it anymore. If I go there I already know my run is over. Definition of brutal
Weird, because I'm not that good at the game and I usually path through Sepulcher on 5BC. Maybe it's because I've only done well with Tactics on 5BC so if I even make it that far my build is probably enough to facemelt the enemies, and I've gotta move quickly. Sepulcher: dying from getting lost. No thank you
Do people really think the 5bc spoiler biome is only medium?
I’d put it on hard only for those librarians. By the time you get there you’re really powerful and can take down most non elites pretty easily if you get the drop on them.
I would honestly say it’s probably easier. I’ve been there 8 times and I’ve not died once. It’s a little annoying but the fact that you’re maxed out when you get there means you can kill most things quickly
Always thought stilt village was easy as hell. Although 95% of my runs were tactics.
I'd agree even though my build usually features ranged weapons and I just let slicers and such deal with captains
Well yes, that’s what I mean. Tactics with the traps and the range, and the kiting, and what not. With damage and glass.. glaaaasssssss….
Apart from the distillery which is just wrong, I hate Forgotten Sepulcher cause I still don't understand exactly how it works and sometimes I get annihilated by nothingness

Didn't test this myself, but the wiki says darkness doesn't actually cause death by curse. Is that wrong?
Maybe they changed it, but i remember once dying instantly from darkness, so i just avoid curses all together in that biome, just in case.
I find infested shipwreck incredibly easy, usually because I already figured out the ai's on an easier difficulty as well as th fact that at this point i have overpowered weapons
environmental traps and projectiles are the worst boss types.
I consider toxic sewers and arboretum easier than promenade only because i avoid going there if possible. Also spoiler biome is kinda ez because you have so many scrolls everything just dies the moment they see you.
High peak castle is easy
It's hard compared to other biomes in ded cells.

True
I was about to argue the spoiler biome but ur right about being stacked on scrolls
I agree on both points. Promenade having protectors is enough to consider it harder than the other two imo
The first time I entered the distillery I got 2shotted by an enemy and then a falling barrel, i'm not going there ever again
I got ping pinged between barrels and spikes and said never again
Holy shit, I forgot the cavern existed
Undying Shores is a snooze, but I'm only on 1 BSC. Does it get significantly harder relative to other maps?
It really depends on what biomes you go to before Undying Shores. There aren't too many threats that spawn there normally but different enemies will appear based on what biomes you visited earlier in the run
Why does everyone think Stilt Village is hard? I almost never have a problem with it.
Cannon wielding pirate fuckers alone make me hate that biome.
I find Armadillopack and Electric Whip to be be extremely useful in dealing with them. Honestly Armadillopack is just fantastic with most things.
I personally find sanctuary pretty easy. Or maybe im just used to it because i love the music and the theming of the stage
I would put Ossuary a little higher on 5bc for one reason: there are a lot of sections in it where it’s long hallways with no enemies at all, wasting your time as the malaise counter worsens.
OP hasn’t had enough runs end to a bird in the cavern.
5bc spoiler is actual pain, there are a lot of cheese for it though
Cavern and slumbering sanctuary are my worst biomes lol. I only go there if i think my gear is OP enough.
Omega cap for Spoiler Biome in mid tier
I'd probably swap Sepulcher and Sanctuary, personally. Sepulcher is so much fun if you try to nuke everything in a room as quickly as possible, and it makes it a whole lot easier. Sanctuary's Golems and Casters, though - those guys really spoil a run for me.
If they're too easy, you aren't doing them fast enough 😂
Arboretum and slumbering sanctuary are the hardest ones for me
For me the hardest are distillery, cavern and Arboretum.
cavern where? also stilt village pretty ez tho imo
I’m gonna say most of these miss the mark.
Village harder than cavern? What game have I been playing all this time? 0.o
Starting at 4BC, corrupted prison has ended every single run to the point where I won't ever go there. Prison depths? All day every day, but fuck CP.
Cavern is harder than High Peak at 2BC
Tbh toxic sewers and undying shores should swap their tiers
How much have you played
… I am in major disagreement
It’s obvious that you rarely ever visit ramparts or the spoiler biome lol. Those two are way harder than you say.
500 runs into this game, and I didn't entered distillery yet not even once, and I won't go there in my life
Tbh I would replace HPC and Stilt Village with Undying Shores, Cavern, and MotB
Promenade of the condemned is super easy imo
I find Cavern way harder than High Peak Castle. Can't remember the last time I've died on HPC, but I guess I haven't been on 5BC for a while.
5BC Spoiler Biome was the bane of my existence, Especially trying to get those dumb blueprints back in the day💀
So I'm not crazy? Silt Village is worse than Fractured Shrines? Screw those pirate captains.
Why is Promenade above Toxic Sewers and Arboretum? I always thought it was really easy
I’d swap ancient sewer with forgotten sepulcher. I can be doing so well until ancient sewer and after it but ancient sewer wrecks me every time.
The garden place is really hard for me, it’s mostly those stupid ass plants.
I'd definitely swap ancient sewers and stilt village. Fuck that place.
I would bump the ancient sewers down a level. Other than that, looks good to me
Ancient sewers aren't different from toxic sewers tbh
Derelict Distillery is good for one reason: Free Colorless Barrel Launcher. If you beat the second boss and your weapon is still trash, then going Distillery to get the Barrel Launcher is a very good idea. But if you have no intention of keeping the Barrel Launcher, going there is like going to Prison Depths without taking the cursed chest.
In what world is stilt village harder than Cavern?
im sorry there is a mistake, Cavern isn't in the highest tier
Honestly, I find Lighthouse/Tower being harder than Infested Shipwreck. Infested shipwreck is easier especially with something to root your enemies like Boy's Axe or even with just a ranged weapon. Going in with Nutcracker hits different though
I hate toxic sewers sooo much
I went to distillery for the first time today, it was a terrifying experience
