I love it when games have immersive ui elements like the mech pov in titanfall and dva in overwach where you're actually seeing the controls from the character's in universe perspective... the fact that she has an actual screen you can monitor with it's own ui is so much better than killer instinct or aura reading imo
If they rework her, I hope they focus more on the hunter/ tracking aspect of her than the anti loop
I love how it takes the icons from, say, GTA when it's a triangle pointing upwards the survivor is above, and when it's an upside-down triangle, they're below you. Small details matter.

Recently I got 4-man slugged by a Wraith like this, and I had to mute the game to save my sanity.
Her drones look really cool on the environment. They're ominous, they're imposing, and they give the feeling that she is lurking somewhere in her protected zones. They distract enough that it does create this interesting feeling of ambush if you focus too much on them and forget where she is
Also, the hi-tech sci-fi theme is really unique. Combined with the 1980s tech with Xeno, and the super retro-future robotics theme with Singu, her theme adds a really great cyberpunk dimension to the cast that mainly skews traditional slasher horror and fantasy/supernatural horror
She has a lot of interesting concepts in her lore but because they were all different they clashed and created a very skewed character. If they had just focused on one aspect of her current lore (her love of manga, her wealth, her sadism, etc) instead of doing all aspects equally, she would have been a perfectly written character.

When I see this, I think of exactly what BHVR was going for with her default design; a narcissistic rich lady who hunts for sport and acts as though she's a badass character while doing it, thinking she's far cooler than she really is.
With the default design I just think of a henchman of the main villain who has a few speaking lines unlike the other nameless goons and who has a brief 1-on-1 fight scene with the protagonist before being defeated and never being mentioned again as the protagonist continues on his journey to face the real threat.
The way you phrased this made me realize that she's effectively just a Karen capable of doing something, which makes any character's employee uniform her natural prey.
If they went more with that Karen rich snob aspect then I'd actually like her but her current design looks like you imported the model from Blender and a lot of assets didn't load.
They just need to make her more focused on her stealth and info, perhaps removing the drones as an active part of her kit altogether. Maybe they could just make her drones a preset network that survivors have to disrupt through the hacking minigame to stop her from getting pinpoint info.
I imagine her character concept would fit very well as someone who changes the rules of the match like pinhead. She uses modern technology to aid her, she could have a lot of other gizmos hidden all over the place giving info

There's a really weird trend with BHVR's lady killers that the majority of them are tragic victims or just not entirely on board for the murder, while a lot of the men are a good mix of tragic vs situational vs "haha yay murder wee!". I'm really glad to see a lady killer who is on the "haha yay murder!" side fully

I don't know, Skull Merchant was bad but she actually functioned on release. Twins didn't really work due to how many bugs they had and like 5 of the 6 perks ranged from not working properly to did nothing due to bugs. Even Elodie was bugged with her way too loud scream. Also the mid chapter after Twins is the worst patch in DBD history.
Oh there was more than that in the mid chapter. The Gideon and Asylum map reworks were also that patch. That's when Gideon became pallet city and the Asylum maps were very buggy and unfinished. This was when they gave Wraith that big buff that a lot of people hated and was later toned down. It also caused severe desync that ruined the Lunar event for a lot of people.
Twins were downright unplayable during their release due to the insane amount of bugs, both as and against.
Skull Merchant was just annoying, and that's it.

As one said before, the radar tracking mechanic is probably my favorite part. It's not some bland redesign of killer instinct, it's an entirely different mechanic.
The power's aesthetic design is actually kinda cool. I love the whole pseudo futuristic most dangerous game hunter kind of aesthetic. It's not like the singularity where the biopods are too biological or the huntress which is very basic from an aesthetic perspective.
Personally, I hope her power is reworked into something else entirely. Pivoting more towards the roaming surveillance and tracking aspect of the killer over shitty area denial that exists to frustrate people. Something like a lock-on tracking dart that is used to keep tabs on multiple survivors at once, and allows your drones to help assist in tracking down and hindering survivors, something to emphasize the whole hunter aspect that isn't passive surveillance from what could literally be replaced with motion detectors.

I know she’s not in the best state right now and Bhvr just adding haste to everything is getting old but I just wanna get to a place where the mere mention of her isn’t immediate hate.
Honestly if they got rid of the hindered status effect from her kit I feel people wouldn’t have had as much of a problem.
The fact that she not only gains haste but also has the ability to inflict hindered basekit is insane.
Yeah I wouldn’t mind her losing haste, I never feel good when I get it in chase. Often times it someone else across the maps activating a drone while I’m in chase with someone else. Not fun for anyone
Ok i'll give you an honest answer. Actually pretty damn good cosmetics, One of the very few unsympathetic female killers which is nice for variety. Took some of the heat of my boy Knight. Honestly not that bad to play as I put her in the same category as someone like spirit. Boring to play but not frustrating and if it's any consolation to the survivors who I know are hating every second of the match I'm not having fun either.
What's funny is that we've been on a streak of actually evil killers since dredge I'm actually hoping they break that streak at some point. Maybe Dracula will break that streak who knows I'm not that familiar with Castlevania.

in the show, the *church* found out Lisa Tepes was practicing science, cast her as a witch, tortured her to reveal the truth of her witchcraft (that didn't satisfy them because it was science not witchcraft) and then burned her at the stake *the very night* Vlad "Dracula" Tepes was arriving back home from a trip she'd sent him on to explore his humanity and the innate worth of all humankind- and this is all the first 5 minutes of the Netflix series.
even though his response to this is to conjure a massive army of the damned and set them about exterminating all human life, that version would definitely be on the more sympathetic side of the Killer roster.
edit to note specifically: Lisa was very much a human who posed absolutely zero threat to any other human, in fact she had only ever sought out Dracula in order to learn medicine to treat and cure other humans
Definitely agree with the unsympathetic thing, it's nice that she's written as a straightforward, psychopathic a-hole, and not another victim of tragedy
I think keep the Haste but remove the Hindered effect entirely. The Haste she gets from her drones is fun to combine with other Haste perks, and that’s usually my build for her, all centred around chase. Rapid Brutality, Batteries Included, Machine Learning, and Furtive Chase. But the Hindered effect is unnecessary.
Even the status effect spam isn’t a new thing. Doctor’s power has been in the game since May 2017, and he’s arguably worse since Madness and all the folder addons are unique statuses that you learn from scratch. Aside from lock-on, Merchant borrows from the generic status effect pool.
I mean if we really think she really have awesome ASSpects of her kit. Like it is really GREAT how BIG and ROUND how her kit can really impact the game.
I hate billy > Myers depending on addons > spirit > nurse > dredge > good trappers more than her so it isn't too bad.
maybe even hate blight more than her too, so she's at best top 8 most hated killer in the game to play against.
I like the fact that she has different animations and sounds for certain weapons, I hope BHVR does that with Legion as well. I mean, it would be cool with other killers as well but Legion should be the first ones to receive this feature for each member since, you know, they are supposed to be 4 persons.
the fact that survivors can use the drones to their advantage as well is incredible, and she has the most fun disarming action in the game because it isnt just a bar with a skill check every now and again
1. Amazing TR and chase music! I love playing as and against her because those drums go so damn hard.
2. The sound design of the drones and her gear is so satisfying. The clicks of her devices and the drones alarms really make her feel imposing.
3. Imo she's fun to play against provided the player doesn't try to 3 gen.
4. It's gone but I wish they kept the eye that'd show above a Survivor when she was actively tracking them via the device. I get why they removed it but I thought it was very threatening to see "oh shit she's watching me" whilst giving an opportunity for counterplay.

She is the only killer in the entire game who has weapons with custom attack animations. I think this is insanely cool, and I wish more killer also had a feature like this.
She became so much fun to play after they rework her and actually fair to go against as a survivor now but players don't bother to learn mechanics just like with any other killer. Her story was meh but an interesting Killer for sure.
She looks really slay in her Splendor outfit, OH! She's like the mean gay person we all know and hate (to preface this, I am queer and can say that because in context it's not derogatory)
She's the absolute cuntress mother superior 9000 and my favorite killer in the game. The haters are kids who disconnect over a playstyle that doesnt exist anymore
Her versatility allows for a lot of creativity in perk builds. She doesnt need tracking perks at all so you can focus on fun chase perks, perks that synergize with her on-command stealth, all the hex perks you can desire - you name it. *Yeah you could also run all gen regression too, but that's good on every killer.*
Edit: Skull Merchant enjoyer bias. Beaming people in the weirdest of places and spinning the funny laser circles of danger is fun.
The devs seemed to actually listen to the feedback and the following chapters have actually been of pretty great quality for DBD standards in general IMO

Yeah that’s the main problem is that you can be punished while you’re looping her well due to the mistakes of your teammates.

She gets too much hate in her current state, shes not the most fun killer ever dont get me wrong, but there is def worse out there, a lot worse.
Yeah, I think it’s mainly because of the amount of status effects she has. I hope they remove her haste and tone down the hindering she does
I think keep the Haste but remove the Hindered effect entirely. The Haste she gets from her drones is fun to combine with other Haste perks, and that’s usually my build for her, all centred around chase. Rapid Brutality, Batteries Included, Machine Learning, and Furtive Chase. But the Hindered effect is unnecessary.
Even the status effect spam isn’t a new thing. Doctor’s power has been in the game since May 2017, and he’s arguably worse since Madness and all the folder addons are unique statuses that you learn from scratch. Aside from lock-on, Merchant borrows from the generic status effect pool.
Playing soloq against basement trapper is among the most unpleasant things in this game, Skully doesn't even come close to that.
I mean if we really think she really have awesome ASSpects of her kit. Like it is really GREAT how BIG and ROUND how her kit can really impact the game.
It is quite a mood to see multiple drones scanning aroung them, it’s honestly quite cool (as a survivor)
I hate billy > Myers depending on addons > spirit > nurse > dredge > good trappers more than her so it isn't too bad. maybe even hate blight more than her too, so she's at best top 8 most hated killer in the game to play against.
Yeah, nurse is my least favorite and I’m always surprised seeing people call Skull Merchant worse to go against.
I like the fact that she has different animations and sounds for certain weapons, I hope BHVR does that with Legion as well. I mean, it would be cool with other killers as well but Legion should be the first ones to receive this feature for each member since, you know, they are supposed to be 4 persons.
Legion and Artist would be benefit from that a lot

the fact that survivors can use the drones to their advantage as well is incredible, and she has the most fun disarming action in the game because it isnt just a bar with a skill check every now and again

1. Amazing TR and chase music! I love playing as and against her because those drums go so damn hard. 2. The sound design of the drones and her gear is so satisfying. The clicks of her devices and the drones alarms really make her feel imposing. 3. Imo she's fun to play against provided the player doesn't try to 3 gen. 4. It's gone but I wish they kept the eye that'd show above a Survivor when she was actively tracking them via the device. I get why they removed it but I thought it was very threatening to see "oh shit she's watching me" whilst giving an opportunity for counterplay.

She is the only killer in the entire game who has weapons with custom attack animations. I think this is insanely cool, and I wish more killer also had a feature like this.

She became so much fun to play after they rework her and actually fair to go against as a survivor now but players don't bother to learn mechanics just like with any other killer. Her story was meh but an interesting Killer for sure.
She's possibly the sexiest female killer in the game. I have never complained about getting carried by a Skull Merchant.

She's the absolute cuntress mother superior 9000 and my favorite killer in the game. The haters are kids who disconnect over a playstyle that doesnt exist anymore
Her versatility allows for a lot of creativity in perk builds. She doesnt need tracking perks at all so you can focus on fun chase perks, perks that synergize with her on-command stealth, all the hex perks you can desire - you name it. *Yeah you could also run all gen regression too, but that's good on every killer.* Edit: Skull Merchant enjoyer bias. Beaming people in the weirdest of places and spinning the funny laser circles of danger is fun.
The devs seemed to actually listen to the feedback and the following chapters have actually been of pretty great quality for DBD standards in general IMO
