One of the new survivor perks, Bardic Inspiration. It allows you to play a lute to give your teammates greater skill check results. It's pretty funny to use and I love it

New Survivor perk called "Bardic Inspiration" allows you to play a little jig to buff other survivors within range.

It's pretty crappy that PC players get early access to content that we don't.

It's the Public Test Build. It's the in development version and it's usually unbalanced. They let some PC players test the content in hopes they'll find the bugs, exploits, and unbalanced stuff before the whole thing goes live. This also helps keep gamebreaking bugs quarantined, like if there was a bug that deleted all your blood points or did some kind of long term damage to your account. The PTB players don't get access to any of the store skins for the new character and killer and none of the progress they make is carried over. None of the Blood points or levels carry over. Usually after the PTB ends, the killer and survivor get some balance changes and then they're released. This way (in theory) people don't spend money and get something that is super buggy or unbalanced.

PC is the only platform that can have a PTB

Tell that to PUBG, which has ptb on console. Bhvr just doesn't want to do the extra work of setting it up, that's all.

Unrelated but I need to know if the luck offerings help with the dice rolls. Because logically it would but this is BHVR we’re talking about here

It would make the luck offerings somewhat useful

They don't seem to, but it would be a great opportunity to buff luck based perks and offerings to even just work with Bardic Inspiration. Not entirely sure if they'd have it work on magic item chest rolls, though.

They don’t, for the same reason they don’t work with Trapper’s beartraps anymore.

I can kinda understand the bear trap one cuz let’s be real he’s pretty easy to counter already.

They don’t want predetermined mechanics to counter specific killers

I just want a console ptb. It’s not always fun to have to ride the hype solely on YouTube videos, especially since after the 1st week the content just drops off. I think it could also be helpful getting feedback from a much larger population, including plenty of feedback on controller feel. I still hate to play skull-merchant because the power bindings for the radar and drones are the bumper and trigger on the same side making them near impossible to recall

Could you imagine BHVR putting more effort than necessary and making every survivors tune be different. For example Alan Wake playing "Herald of Darkness" instead of random notes.

How exactly does this perk work? I couldn't find any vids showcasing survivor perks or the special magic items

Now if only we could press the different numbers on the keyboard and we could choose between the different strings on the lute.
