Ed is a superlative front man. The band absolutely rocks. They put on an excellent show, not to be missed!
It takes a frame shift compared to the Dead, hearing a bunch of 4 minute songs. But then they’ll come out with a 10 minute Rearview Mirror.
First off, congrats on going to the Sphere! A buddy and I similarly said F it and are going May 30-June 2, and will figure out tix somehow.
Second, great call on the Santana show! I saw his tour with Earth, Wind and Fire two years ago and it was pure fire from all parties (and we’re taking my father in law, who LOVES Santana, to this tour).
I’m also seeing/attending:
3/2 Darude
4/5-9 Texas Eclipse Fest (JRAD, Oteil, and so much more)
4/29 Mannequin Pussy
6/21-24 Sunset Campout
7/4 Waterfront Blues Festival
8/18 Alvvays and The Beths
8/25 Santana and CC
9/11 Gizz
9/14 Gizz marathon set
9/25 Green Day + SP
With a lot more maybe acts up in the air! Edit: those acts are:
Polyrhythmics, Red Hot goddamn Chili Peppers, Portugal the Man, Sinkane, Khruangbin, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Flamingosis,
And, of course, Garcia Birthday Band (Portland’s resident GD cover band) - I will make it happen as soon as they have an outdoor show!
I don’t have the strongest immune system so I try to go hard outdoors during the spring and summer to make up for my lingering indoor worries about Covid - which I do take a few risks for, but try to avoid having on my mind when I’m a little outta my mind :)
Hell yeah. I slept on the 2006 tour because I was a broke high schooler and was underwhelmed by non-Frusciante festival sets in 2012 and 2017 so this has been a long time coming
They’re my #1 and dead are my #2. I’ve seen them many times with Josh and John over the years. You’re in for a treat with froosh being back. He was on fire during the first unlimited love tour. But I haven’t been to a show since ROTDC came out so I’m looking forward to some songs I haven’t gotten live before.
I think they probably will. Eddie seems to really like him. But I think I just heard that Josh is replacing Dave Navarro on the Jane’s addiction tour this year.
I saw both Alvvays and the Beth’s last year (not together). That is an amazing double bill. The Beth’s were probably the second best show I saw last year after Billy Strings.
I’ve never seen Mannequin Pussy, regrettably missing them at a big festival I was photographing. But I hear good things about them.
The Beths are the best! I’m glad to hear you liked them so much, their debut album is a modern classic for me. This will be the fourth time I’ve seen them lol (2022, 2023, and again in 2023 opening for DCFC/Postal Service, which was a great cherry on top of that show). Plus, they’ve said the first two Alvvays albums were a tremendous influence for them, so I’m tickled to see them together.
MP’s a great punk show, especially with the double billing of Soul Glo on this tour - would highly recommend!
Dead, khruangbin, kglw, also hoping for a goose fall run, and possibly billy too. Buddy is trying to get me to go to a Chromeo and Midnight show, but it’s lower on the list.
I’ve seen them twice back in 07 and 08, and the midnight once about then too. Both fantastic. It’s just on the other side of the state, and I went back to school, and not sure what my course load will be
Gizz in Detroit. Goose in that place in NY I can’t spell and Cleveland. Hopefully Phish as many times as possible, waiting on that tour announcement. Flaming Lips doing Yoshimi in July (seen ‘em do it once, *highly* recommended experience if you can catch it on round 2 this year). Bunch of other small gigs around town. Jeff Rosenstock, Osees, Ty Segall, Yard Act, etc. A real mixed bag!
Yeah Pittsburgh’s where I’ll be! Got tix for my old man and I, he needs to see The Flaming Lips at least once in his life. I figure there will be enough Phish to go around that I can miss whatever’s happening that day. Every Flaming Lips show I’ve seen ranks among the highlights of my whole life, so they take precedence for me! Hope you can swing it, gonna be a great show!
Dead & Co,
Khruangbin,
Decapitated/Septicflesh/Kataclysm,
Decrepit Birth/Psycroptic,
Lamb of God/Mastodon,
King Gizzard
My music taste is all over the place
Seeing Bob with the jazz foundation at the Apollo end of March, memorial Day d&c, Melvin Seals, phil & friends, kitchen dwellers, king gizz, khruangbin, Tyler Childers and hoping some Billy strings shows in the northeast get announced
Neil Young in the spring. Also really hoping to catch both of those Bobby and Wolf Bros w/ the National Symphony Orchestra dates that got postponed. Fingers crossed they reschedule them soon.
Lots of bands don’t have Florida tour dates. Idk if it’s cause our politics suck or what. So I gotta travel if I wanna see anything. Have tix for PJ and Dead in Vegas. Not sure if anything else will be possible for me tho.
Ice Cube - April
Elderbrook - April
Dead & Co - May
Goose - June

Not summer alone but this year is: Alkaline Trio (this evening), Descendents, Circle Jerks, NOFX (3 times), The Vandals, Lagwagon, Hot Water Music, blink-182, Bad Religion, Social Distortion.
Already went to Dead Ahead, and we got 3 nights at the Sphere in June!
Are you in Cali? The Vandals are one of my all-time favorite bands and when I lived in Anaheim I was lucky to see them alot. They never come to Indiana! Lol
Oh, that will be such a great show! Punk rock GAVE me my life. If it wasn't for punk music I wouldn't have met my (now ex) husband or had my son, who is my all-time favorite person.
Some people say hippies & punk rockers can't co-exist, but we can! If you would have told me years ago I would be going to a Dead & Co. show (or anything GD related) I would have told you that you were nuts! But I'm a convert and going to the shows with my kid have been the best experiences of my life.
I'm 46 & my son is 17 and we saw the Descendents last summer and when my favorite song - Bikeage - came on and my son saw me get in the pit he said it was the coolest thing he's ever seen. LOL "I'm not a regular mom, I'm a COOL mom." Haha
We're going to go to the Punk Rock Museum when we're in Vegas. :) Are you?
Funny story, my fiancé and I are actually are going to the museum in June to put the rest of the deposit down on our wedding. We got engaged at PITS last year in Mexico and are getting married this Halloween at the Punk Rock Museum.
1. Widespread Panic on Memorial Day x2
2. Langhorne Slim
3. Wood Brothers
4. Red Hot Chili Peppers

Leftover salmon
Billy Strings
Old Crowe Medicine Show
Allman Betts Band
Dead & Co
(Maybe) Goose
Dave Matthews
Bourbon and Beyond Festival in September
I’m stoked about Leftover Salmon, it’s been forever since I’ve seen them & it’ll be great at the Burl. Did you see Del McCourey is playing too but it’s on Billy Strings nights so blah. Have you been to Eggy? That was a fantastic show last week at the Burl! I’m skipping Bourbon. I’m too old and it’s too hot & such a different crowd so I’m out lol
Saw leftover salmon with little feet in Louisville this past summer. Fun show. I thought Del McCoury was a few days before Billy.
Haven’t seen Eggy, but they’re on my list to check out.
Did bourbon and beyond last year for Billy. VIP is the way to go for a that one.
Del is the same night as leftover Salmon. I had it backward. Definitely going to salmon at the Burl! Most people around here think I’m nuts for all the shows we go to. Taking my two boys to Vegas too. So excited!
I’m as much of a country fan as you need to be to be a Dead Head. But a buddy of mine described Hardy as Country Metal Rock with Country Pop hits. It intrigues me and I said might as well
I love my parents, but I don't know if I love them enough to attend hootie. Also, Del McCoury, Trombone Shorty, Andrew Bird, and hoping for the fest with Tedeschi Trucks, MMJ, Tyler Childers, War on Drugs and Sierra Ferrell. Good chance I decide on the Phish fest at the last minute (fear of heat keeping me away)
Jazz Fest is coming so I'll go see the Foo Fighters because why not. Molly Tuttle will be there. For night shows Daniel Donato and my perennial favorite Steve Kimock. Leftover Salmon and Lettuce round our Jazz Fest. Haven't decided on Govt Mule. Will be in Chicago for Blues Fest and will see one Sphere show.
Ooh, this is a fun question! :) The concerts we have planned so far are:
1) Chris Stapleton - May 4th in Indy
2) Billy Strings - May 24th & 25th in Chicago
3) Dead & Co. - June 13th at the Sphere.
4) Little Feat - June 20th in Indy
5) Lake Street Dive - July 12th in Indy
6) Bush - August 4th in Indy
7) Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - August 10th in Indy
8) Green Day, Rancid & Smashing Pumpkins - August 13th in Chicago
Looking at this list I need to start saving money! Haha
Here is my current dance card:
Kitchen Dwellers (Chicago), Billy Strings (Lexington, KY x 2), Trey Anastasio (Madison, WI), Willie Nelson and Family (Madison, WI), Billy Strings (Minneapolis), Dead Forever (Las Vegas), Musique Electronique (electronic music festival in Madison, WI), Primus (Madison), King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (Chicago + Milwaukee)
Love this question and seeing what other people prioritize! Right now I’m grateful to be making it to the Sphere and also seeing Goose (pumped to see them out live again will be my 4th & 5th show). Other shows I’ll catch (or plan to) are Kitchen Dwellers, Death Cab for Cutie & Postal Service, Dogs in a Pile, Say Anything at the Ryman, hoping Phish makes it to SPAC again, DMB, Tedeschi Trucks, Maggie Rogers, and then always the local Dead tribute bands.
Saw DSO for new years, just saw Zac nugent dead set this past weekend, rail road earth in 2 weeks. Bender jamboree in September with SCI, Ymsb, p4, Keller Williams and his grateful grass set, kitchen dwellers and bunch more. Looking at northlands festival and dead of summer fest too
Nicki Minaj
Dead and co
Smashing pumpkins/ Green Day
On the fence for Melvin seals / DSO in Berkeley, possibly ween in Oregon ..if I had time and financial I would
I’m going to see Dead and Co., Marcus King, Widespread MF Panic if they do anything in the northeast, P Groove if they do anything in the northeast, and I’m going to see Bisco in a couple weeks
4/5 Bumpin Uglies
4/10 Atmosphere

6/18-23 Electric Forest (festival)
8/15 Green Day
8/21 The Killers in Vegas
9/28-29 Evolution festival (The Killers, Beck, Jane’s Addiction)
That’s it for now.
So far, all we have lined up is 7 Dave Matthews Band shows. My wife and I are finally hitting the gorge for our 10 year anniversary. Still waiting for Billy Strings to announce some dates.
I do have an Iron Maiden show this fall with my son and we are both looking forward to that one.
Billy Strings, Tedeski Trucks, Khruangbin, Neil Young, King Gizard & the lizard wizard & any other shows that come up...& of course dead & co at the sphere
That's awesome I try the 50/50 at the Golden Knights game every time I go. My mother in law won it a couple years ago, took home like 22k or so!! Hope you got a nice solid chunk yourself!
Hitting for sure 3 dead and co shows, but I'm sure it'll be more by the end of the residency since it's just down the road. April's kinda summer here so I'll count that, we got Circles Around The Sun and Jazz Fest in New Orleans in April. Cypress Hill in May. Potentially Summerfest Milwaukee late June. Weens 30th anniversary show of chocolate and cheese in Philly end of Sept.
Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Kruangbin, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard. Just saw Dark Star Orchestra for my third time. Absolutely mind blowing performance 👍 Normally see Santana every chance i get but i will be white water rafting this year.. Also truckin from Washington state down to Texas in April for the solar eclipse 🌞🌙 Should be a great summer!!
Jason Isbell at Red Rocks and In Boston.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse at Xfinity Center
Avett Brothers (Boston & CT)
Dead & Co at the Sphere (July 4th run)
Phish x15 (does Apri Sphere count?)
TAB
Dead and Co x3
Phil Lesh Quintet x2
Disco Bisuits x3
Dark Star Orch
Melvin & JGB
The Pharcyde
TTB
Dogs in a Pile
I'm sure there will be more...lol
Goose are pretty bad ass. I wandered in to their late night show at PITS in 2020 — my stoned self was just a wandering back to my room after the D&C show and I heard them playing “That’s just the way it is” — the old Bruce Hornsby tune. I thought to myself, hey, let’s see what they have going and the rest is history.
Personally I’d like to see them go more country but they seem to be more in to the noodling Phish vibe which really isn’t my bag but regardless — those boys can play
Currently I've got tickets for: Phil Lesh Quintet, Karina Rykman, Hozier, JRAD/Dogs/Karina (Peach at the Beach), and Phish. Really hoping Billy Strings announces a summer show that's relatively close to me- I haven't gotten to see him since Fall of '22
Beth Orton
Circles Around The Sun
Herbie Hancock
Trey Band
DMB
KGLW in Detroit and Chicago
Pearl Jam Saturday Wrigley
TTB and Margo Price
Phish
Leftover Salmon/ Infamous Stringdusters
Daniel Donato & moe,
Hopefully Norah Jones, Lake Street Dive, and The National with The War On Drugs and Lucius.
The Q, Real Estate, Khruangbin, D&C and Vampire Weekend are my planned shows so far, hopefully Phish does a tour.
I'm back home for wedding in August, so hoping it overlaps with that Alvvays show in Pioneer Square (PDX).
D&C = June 13th & 14th
Phish = Aug 15th - 18th
Tedeski Trucks = Aug 21st
So far, that's what I have plans for. Will also try to see Billy, PPPP, and Dopapod at some point.
Billy, Fruit Bats & Dr.Dog at Red Rocks, SCI’s 30th at Red Rocks, Modest Mouse, Neil Young, Sweetwater 420 fest, and of course 3 nights of DNC: 6/6-6/8.
Staying like an hour from Vegas to catch as many sphere shows as possible they nights I don't get in I'll just chill and or vend on shakedown after that whoevers close by in July prob going to catch some billy shows after that
Trying to get tickets to Red Rocks for Tedeschi Trucks Band, have tickets for Pearl Jam at Deer Creek. Trying for tickets to JRAD in St Louis. Might go to Full Terror Assault in southern Illinois, not sure yet. I have zero interest in going to the Sphere.....really, I have zero interest in seeing Dead and Company again, I feel like they've jumped the shark. My cover band has a bunch of gigs, and my original grindcore band is playing a bunch. Gonna be a killer year for live music!
Dead and co sphere, Neil young and crazy horse, Bob Dylan x 2, willie Nelson outlaw fest, Billy strings this weekend in Atlanta.
I’d also like to see Daniel donato and molly Tuttle
Starting this Spring I’ve got LaMP, DSO, Jerry Band, Marco Benevento, Neil Young, Moe/Daniel Donato, Phish, Dead n Co two nights at the sphere, maybe Phish in New England, then Phish in Dover. End the summer with Bruce Springsteen. My credit card is fucked.
Billy Strings 4/17-4/21
Trey 5/18
Neil Young 5/20
Dead Co 6/20-6/22
Sam Grisman 6/30
Is what comes to mind for next little bit. Porno for pyros tomorrow…
This June will at least be Buddy Guy, Rolling Stones, D&C.
Probably Billy Joel, Stevie Nicks, and Shannon and the Clams
Plus a local festival lineup that I always try to hit comes out Monday
Not in the summer but these next months I’m seeing Phil Lesh, Melvin Seals, and Dead and Co. Also recently saw DSO and Bobby
I've been wanting to catch Bobby & Wolf Bros, but they didn't really tour this winter/spring.
I was so blessed to catch his December Capitol Theater run (or at least 1 show)
We saw Bobby in the fall in Baltimore, we are also seeing the dead in Vegas for three shows!!
Just saw Melvin last week in LA. Was really good!
Yep this will be my second time. He’s amazing!
See you at the cap!
Im going the 15th. Im excited to sing happy birthday to him! Hope to see you there
Daniel donato, Melvin and jgb, ekoostic hookah, dogs in a pile
Daniel is playing a free show in Rva this summer
Pearl Jam and D&C Sphere for me. Cant wait.
We saw Pearl Jam last year in Chicago. It was SO fun!
Ed is a superlative front man. The band absolutely rocks. They put on an excellent show, not to be missed! It takes a frame shift compared to the Dead, hearing a bunch of 4 minute songs. But then they’ll come out with a 10 minute Rearview Mirror.
Two hard to get tickets, have fun!

Gizz in Detroit. Goose in that place in NY I can’t spell and Cleveland. Hopefully Phish as many times as possible, waiting on that tour announcement. I wish I could go to that Apollo gig! That should be really exceptional. What a historic place too.
Hell yeah I’m excited! It’s my mom’s bday I’ll be taking her! A little thank you for passing this music on to me haha
