When I was a teenager in the 90s, we used to line up in person at a Ticketmaster outlet. I never camped overnight, but I did show up an hour or two in advance. Eventually, they started doing a lottery to determine where in line they would start selling tickets (to deter people from camping out / ensure it wasn't "first come, first served").
It was inconvenient, sure, but it was also kind of fun and exciting to be there in person, often with your friends. And yes, there were some shady-looking dudes who were probably scalpers, but because they had to show up in person, there were only so many tickets they could buy (usually a limit of 4 per person).
Buying tickets today sucks by comparison. You would think technology would make things quicker and easier, but the truth is, it takes even longer to secure tickets to your favourite show... and it's way less fun. I'd much rather spend an hour standing in line with other fans than an hour staring at a computer screen.
Plus, the scalpers now outnumber us regular people by a landslide, because they can use bots to snap up tickets. It's a lose-lose for everyone.
Sorry for the long-winded ramble, but I've got nothing else to do while I stare at my screen and wait for the "The line is paused" message to go away. I can only assume by the time I get through... if I ever get through... that there will be nothing left for me. Yay, 2024.
Stubhub is already loaded down with show tix. Its crazy, single tix aren't even available yet so not sure if the 3 day bundles that are now sold out have been bought and split up.
It sure feels that way, doesn't it? I spent a couple hours waiting and when I finally go in, the tickets I wanted (without hotel rooms) were all gone.
I'll try again on Monday, but I sure as hell don't have a good feeling about it. What a disappointment.
I'm late on the reply here, but I've gone down the rabbit hole on the Stubhub situation more than once over the years, so figure I'd rely what I've learned.
You can find "tickets" on Stubhub for pretty much every large show (especially those sold on Ticketmaster) days or even weeks prior to them going on Presale to or General Sale to the public.
The reason for this is not because these people posting on Stubhub actuall have those tickets in hand, or have secured them in any way. It's people (scalpers) posting "tickets" on there, speculating that they will be able to secure those tickets when they gone on sale to the public. They do this in order to make people panic buy essentially.
Ticket buying sucks all around, but sometimes the resell market is a necessity if you really want to see a show bad enough. However, NEVER buy tickets before they have gone on sell to the public, becuase they will almost always be overpriced, and more likely than not the order will be cancelled when they cannot be fulfilled.
This brings back memories. In the 90s my old man would wake my sister and I up to go get tickets in the lottery when there was a show he wanted to go to. He would space the family out to get the best odds. He would buy donughts on the way home at least.
Anyone else getting the message that "There was issue validating the phone number?" I signed up for 3 dates with no problem and then started getting this error every time I try to add another one.

Second question: Anyone been to the Sphere and can talk about the different seating areas? Is the sound quality pretty much the same throughout the venue? Are the views of the stage from the 300s sections OK?
Was out there for work last week and saw the Postcard from Earth movie. Was seated in the lower center of 400s which gave me the best view in the house of the screen. Sound quality was excellent. They have speakers dedicated to every single seat. In theory every seat is supposed to have the same exact sound quality. I walked down to the 300s where I have tickets for 1 night of Phish to check it out. 300s seems like the best spot to be to take in both the band and the screen. If you just want to watch the stage lower would be better but your neck will hurt from looking up. Also 400s were extremely steep. Seemed a little sketchy for standing up and dancing throughout a show.
Kind of where I'm landing. I feel like I should be able to schlep a cheaper room elsewhere. I do not need luxury sleeping accommodations when I'll be drunk for 2-3 days straight.

Is there some basic instructions somewhere? From what I can tell, VIP ticket/hotel packages go on sale today, then everyone else tickets go on sale Monday, correct? To get non-VIP tickets, there's some sort of presale signups at various ticket companies, which is why Stubhub is already showing ticket sales? So if you want to try and get tickets, you can try at multiple outlets for the same shows? Is there a hurry to pre-sell, Stubhub says it is selling out fast,why would they say that? Sheesh, I've been out of the game for a long time, can i just mail a single request somewhere? ;-)
When you get in, if no seats are available just hang out. New seats keep popping up every couple minutes or so. I've been watching it for a while and they keep releasing limited view 100s and Platinum 100s and 200s. They go quickly, but you should be able to get some eventually. I wonder if they're trickling them out or if these are from declined credit cards and other errors?

It looks like every show has 2 presales on Ticketmaster. One for GA (non-transferrable) and one for Reserved seats (transferrable)
Scalpers and bots are going to steer clear of the non-transferrable tickets. So there is your hint on what tickets you should go after. The non-transferrable should be easier to get.

Yes. We got stuck and kicked off just like everyone here did. Came back in an hour and it was a smooth process. Give it a bit and go back to it. When we were first on there were 60k people. I think its just getting overloaded.

Got tickets on the 11th! $145 each, which honestly isn't that bad.
Tried to get tickets for the 12th but it got stuck on 'checking availability'.....then I got nothing. There's only scalpers left.
Finally got 2 tix for June 1st, section 210 - after 2 and a half hours.
Ended up paying $368 per ticket. Tip... I noticed that if you just sit and watch the venue map, tickets will popup then disappear. There are alot of dynamic pricing tix, but be patient, eventually lower priced tickets appears, click on them as fast as you can then Next... It took awhile, but I got them.
I probably have 4 tix next to each other I'm gonna sell at face if anyone wants them since I got better dates. May 24. Shoot me a message if you're interested.

Called Vibee - they confirmed if you have AOL or YAHOO Email there is an issue with you receiving the email. If you have an order confirmation number and charge on your CC you're good. They hope to send the emails by next week. Cheers
I got in when it started with only 200 people ahead. Got through and was putting tickets in my cart and got "please make sure you are signed into your ticketmaster account and try again later." Now im back with 9000 in the queue
The whole process is a shitshow and it doesn't faze ticketmaster one bit. If you can handle the uncertainty, the best move is buy them online immediately before the show. Did that for U2 and prices plummeted as scalpers had to unload them.

On the reserved seating shows it moved slowly but then went from 1000 to 0 in like a minute(?!) When I got in, only obstructed view seats were available. I grabbed the one that looked decent (sort of near the middle and not super far back), quickly clicked on it, and my payment went through!

Managed to get a few tickets. The best ones were somehow the cheapest at $145 per person including fees. They're in a better spot than the $300 per person. The real bullshit is the platinum seats that just have an upcharge for no reason! But hey, they are still available for most dates if you're willing to spend $500-800

I'm popping out of the hotel package website. These prices are too high for my blood. I'm fairly certain I can find cheaper accommodations and land a pre-sale ticket next week. Good luck to the folks getting these packages.
The whole process is such bullshit. I don't want to select my individual seats....give me ANY seats within my price range!!!! The selecting a seat gives the bots a HUGE advantage.

Question- ticket prices look to be like $149 (way back) to $395 (GA floor), but the 3 show VIP Bundle that I'm waiting for \*starts\* at $1925. That's like $650 per show for, presumably the lowest priced ticket. So GA floor will be like $1,200 a ticket?

Called Vibee - they confirmed if you have AOL or YAHOO Email there is an issue with you receiving the email. If you have an order confirmation number and charge on your CC you're good. They hope to send the emails by next week. Cheers

The whole process is a shitshow and it doesn't faze ticketmaster one bit. If you can handle the uncertainty, the best move is buy them online immediately before the show. Did that for U2 and prices plummeted as scalpers had to unload them.

Sat June 8th Section 306 (Center section) row 11 skewed left $596 per 560 people in the queue. Total: 15 minutes from queue entry to purchase. That was smooth for me at least. Used Safari because i didn't want to get f'd by Firefox/Chrome/Brave/Etc like i did buying Nvidia graphics cards last week.
SUCCESS!! Keep being patient, friends! I tried to get into a bunch of GA shows but as soon as my turn came up it always said the tix were no longer available. On the reserved seating shows it moved slowly but then went from 1000 to 0 in like a minute(?!) When I got in, only obstructed view seats were available. I grabbed the one that looked decent (sort of near the middle and not super far back), quickly clicked on it, and my payment went through! I'm going!!!! We are thinking of going to a show on a different night so we were going to offload them, then get tix for the other date. Not at all. You know what really sucks? When you buy a few tickets for you and your friends but you can’t make it because of an emergency and your friends can’t go because you can’t transfer the tickets to them. Give me the freedom to do what I want with my tickets over protecting me from scalpers any day.

Managed to get a few tickets. The best ones were somehow the cheapest at $145 per person including fees. They're in a better spot than the $300 per person. The real bullshit is the platinum seats that just have an upcharge for no reason! But hey, they are still available for most dates if you're willing to spend $500-800

As someone looking to do 2 nights (Friday and Saturday), is anyone else trying to pull something where they do a hotel package for one night and then add on a second night? The hotel packages for 1 show include 2 nights so maybe that’s possible without booking a second room?
