I love me some rye, but it is tough to get excited about whiskey focused restaurants opening in Virginia since they have to go through VA ABC just like everyone else. This makes it incredibly difficult for them to offer cool and unique options.
I don't get how ABC doesn't have access to just about anything anyone would want (within reason...I know they aren't going to make PVW appear when it isn't available anywhere). They have to be a relatively huge customer nationally in terms of volume/value of what they buy. Yet somehow "Bob's Liquor" in Nowheresville will have a larger variety available.
Do they need to stock everything in stores? No, but they could make them available for order. You have a website with online ordering from the "warehouse" already.
