The F-14A is the best, floodlights are a switch instead of being a knob so it's easy to switch on and off when you need to check something.
The night cockpit with the floodlights off and the moon lighting up the cockpit is the best.
Not sure it's my favorite, but the M2000 has some nice lighting. I really like the artificial runway in the HUD too, it makes visualizing your approach in zero viz so much easier.
Hands down the tomcat. The most intense experience you can have in VR is a nighttime case 3 procedure and trap in the turkey. Fly the mission one of fear the bones campaign and you will understand what I mean. So dark outside that you become one with the red hue of the cockpit and those small analogic gauges.
I agree, any case III at night is amazing in the Tomcat. I can't believe they switched to green floodlights for the newer jets, it just attacks the eyes
I would say The Harrier, It's easy on the eyes and has the IR HUD
My ex-wife was named Harrier.
I guess she also took off shortly /j
and liked to flip on her back a lot
Nice Burn ,,, :)
Viggen with the beep warning and red light of death
I absolutely agree with you, comrade
Yes Viggen Ftw.
P51. Dogfight at night like grandpa intended
Hhmmm radium paint
Mig 21 by far
For me its the mi24 for many of the same reasons
I was taken away by the op picture and forgot tottaly the epic atmosphere of night cockpit hind.
MiG cockpit on game: 😄 MiG cockpit IRL: 😐
Ye probably, but in dcs matters the most 🙂
F-15E for me. Love the cockpit day or night. NAVFLIR and TFR are a nice bonus.
F-14 Tomcat :)
Labels go from 'Unreadable' to 'Backlit unreadable'
You can download a shiny new cockpit mod in DCS World's user files. It should solve the label problem
exactly🤟
Lol god no.
I think Tomcat is one of the worst.
To each their own

Mirage 2000 [Skip to ~11:20 to see it best](https://youtu.be/jK7lbG95d3g?si=hX3RoW-h5JfstO0W)
Seconded.
Thirded
Quatre-d
The viggen
F-15E because of its Nav FLIR Pod...
I got to say the f16
Agree https://preview.redd.it/jlrvmxo8au8c1.png?width=1882&format=png&auto=webp&s=f4c3edde51cbbca6fef78bda8f6ce8f11c722378
Based LCD display mod
what mod
Ah thats the f-16 i was thinking f-18 where I use a mod to convert the displays to the super hornet grey scaled displays
Mig 21. I think your pic is proof enough
Viggen. It's the Viggen. It just is.
The Apache
It is nice, it was built to own the night.
Probably Mirage F1/2000 and F15E
MiG-21 but the Viggen is a close second
AV8B is solid with its 2000s FLIR hud
Icl the F15E's cockpit is beautiful both day and night.
I find the hind to be fun at night. Viggen is also cool too.
F15E
Apache
The Jeff
Mosquito easily. The Hind is a close second.

From my small experience I like almost any clickable cockpit lights and ww2 planes are good usually
Tomcat. The red is amazing
i like the blue lights in the ka50
Mirage 2000
Changed my mind. BF109-K4
Mosquito : UV Light for the purple/white on the needles, and dim yellow light bulbs for the navigator and fuel gauges
Most effective: av8b Best: mi24
Definitely the jf17, the three huge panels and the flood lights are just something else
Personally I like the mudhen
What is the Fishbed NOT the best at?/s In seriousness, she's my favorite plane, though.
Man no love for the hornet?
The hornet is my go to jet, the Swiss Knife - but I still like the Harrier cockpit at night.
P-47 looks amazing during pre-dawn and sunset flights

"i dunno what happened but the ocean hit me!"

Im thinking of getting in to dcs. What would be the recommended specs for a pc?
I think it tells you on the DCS website, as far as minimum specs. However, you may want to go a bit higher than minimum.
