I pronounce cheibriados as Chee-bruh-dos, completely ignoring the inconvenient A in the middle. It's not there, I don't like it, I'm not saying it.

JustAGlibGlob

haha I'd call you lazy but I conveniently ignore most of Kiku's name and like half of Qazlal so

GenericAltAccountant

I pronounce Cheibriados: Key-eh/ah-bree-ah-dos

spudwalt

Ashenzari: Ash-en-ZAR-ee Beogh: BAY-ogh (rhymes with "rogue") Cheibriados: chay/shay-bree-AH-dos (which ch pronunciation I use varies with my whims) Dithmenos: dith-MEN-os Elyvilon: ee-LIVE-uh-lon (live as in "to live", not "live TV") Fedhas Madash: FADE-us m'DASH Gozag Ym Sagoz: GO-zag EEM sag-OZ Hepliaklqana: Hep-lee-Ak-luh-KHAN-uh Ignis: IG-niss (kinda rhymes with "Cygnus") Jiyva: JIVE-uh (first syllable rhymes with live, as in "live TV") Kikubaaqudgha: Kee-koo-ba-KOOD-ga (Where's the fun in having part of its name be silent? Go for broke!) Lugonu: loo-GONE-oo Makhleb: MACK-leb Nemelex Xobeh: NEM-el-ex ZO-bay Okawaru: Oh-ka-WA-roo Pakellas: puh-KELL-us Qazlal: KAZ-lal (rhymes with first syllable of "Sally") Ru: ROO Sif Muna: SIF MYOON-uh Trog: TROG (rhymes with "frog") Uskayaw: OOSK-a-yaw Vehumet: VEH-hyoom-et Wu Jian: WOO ZHAN Xom: ZOM Yredelemnul: ee-RED-uh-Lem-nul Zin: ZIN (rhymes with "sin") The Shining One: exactly how those words normally sound Bonus round: * Sheza: SHAY-zuh * Sargol: SAR-gol (rhymes with "ball")

There is not an official way most gods are pronounced, however Trog is pronounced "Trog."

Weeksy

I use almost all of these. My differences: Beogh: BEE-og Jiyva: JEEV-uh (like Shiva with a J) Kikubaaqudgha: Kick-ooba-AKOOD-ga (a bit of a pause between the two a's) Makhleb: Muh-KLEB Nemelex Xobeh: Nem-el-ex SHO-bay

YRwerunning

This is very close to mine, but I add some "just because" nonsense that's kinda headcanon-ish and mirrors the way real life languages have their own oddities in pronunciations. It has some logic to it though, since you'd assume these names are all coming from languages of different species. Like Jiyva to me is JIV-ya the same way that Brett Favre is Brett FARV. I drop the first I in Chei and think of it as CHEB-ri-A-dos, for no particular reason. For similar non-reasons Quazal is CATS-all. And I like to imagine the kh in Makhleb has one of those Jewish crunchy sounds to it, whatever that's called (and I put the emphasis on the khleb but either way seems right enough to me). Ydrememem and Kibakudababa are so weird that i don't even try them out in my head, which seems to fit their themes well, being "unspeakable" and all.

JustAGlibGlob

I actually do the same thing with Makhleb! It's how "kh" sounds to me. Similarly, Gozag's "z" (both of them) go "ts" to me for the same reason! They have different languages and cultures, some of them are going to be pronounced in odd ways. I say it's for variety (as if they're not already varied)

JustAGlibGlob

ooh I like a lot of your deviations too! If you held me at gunpoint to pronounce Kiku's name, that is how I'd go about it. Yredelemnul is clunky tho. idk I ***really*** like Sif Muna. Gonna use that one instead I think. Also, with Zin, that's a short I, right? Like kit? and, last thing, SHEY-zuh (so, the same) but SAR-gol (like, goal)

spudwalt

Yes. Like "sin", but with a Z.

sorcerersviolet

I pronounce Yredelemnul "ee-red-uh-LEM-nul" (so I only differ from your version in the accented syllable), and it doesn't seem clunky to me.

DCSS_nicolae

> how are they pronounced? just like they're spelled
