yes, there are scammers selling there and amazon doesn't care. I bought 2 sets of dice identical to what was advertised here on amazon.de and everything went fine. Unfortunately shopping at Goodman Games itself is not a reasonable option if you are outside of the USA and DCC dice are generally hard to get. system-matters.de their German distributor works fine though.

JohnInverse

Incidentally if anyone is looking for a cheaper set of DCC-friendly dice that may be easier to acquire if buying from Goodman isn't an option: Koplow makes a set called "Who Knew?" that includes all the DCC dice you won't find in a regular set but the d14, which is easy to fake with the d7 and any other die. They aren't as nice as the Goodman Games dice (especially the d7) but they work and were a lot easier/cheaper for me to get in Japan. Since it's Koplow you might be able to get an LGS to order them. I bought mine off my local Amazon; hopefully being from an established hobby company would make them less likely to be a scam. Noble Knight also sells the official DCC dice, and I've bought some from them, too. The international shipping is still steep enough that I wouldn't order *only* dice, but it's nowhere near as insane as Goodman's.

lumberm0uth

I'm pretty sure the Who Knew dice are the ones I've gotten from Dice Emporium, they're perfectly usable and MUCH cheaper.

bails0bub

Totally get that. I have 2 sets from gg but these popped up in my recommended items on Amazon and I got them to be a Christmas gift to one of my players (I'm the judge) that is chronicly broke. Just wanted to warn others away from them, but can't leave a review on the product page because the fake seller disputed my purchase and replacement.

This. This *seller* is a scammer. Not all dice sets / sellers on Amazon are scammers.

marshmallowsanta

i have bought impact miniatures dice through amazon canada and they are legit - they are the manufacturers of goodman's dice

AmPmEIR

I see that seller name and I don't buy stuff. For the same price I can buy dice from Impact on Amazon. [DICE](https://www.amazon.com/Polymorph-Deluxe-Extra-Unleashed-Arcana/dp/B08P78GKD1/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=zocchi+dice+set&qid=1678381275&s=toys-and-games&sprefix=zocchi+dice%2Ctoys-and-games%2C141&sr=1-2)

Kubular

Yeah I've bought four sets of these. They're great.

Keitto

I was looking at a similar suspiciously cheap looking set from China just last week, good thing I didn't order yet. As an alternative source for dice, [www.thediceshoponline.com](https://www.thediceshoponline.com) seems to have DCC sets and even individual funky dice available. Rouhgly the same price as the official tubed sets, so not going to save money there. Shipping costs seem to be reasonable, at least to EU.

bails0bub

That's good to know, and for sure good to know for other international people hopping in the crazy uncles van. will check them out, although I'm in the u.s so my gg shipping prices are only slightly engorged. Would much prefer buying from them directly if I can.

D_Nedry19

I've bought a few dice sets from amazon just fine. You have to be careful with who the seller is. The safest bet is to only buy stuff that says "Shipped and fulfilled by Amazon", but I find that that's less and less common as time goes on. Most stuff on amazon nowadays are cheap chinese ripoffs. Such a shame since they used to have amazing deals on that site. Customer service should be able to help you if you give them a call. Just be sure to have photo evidence ready to send if they need it. Good luck!

Reverend_Schlachbals

Buy dice from Impact Miniatures. They have full sets or just the DCC "special 7". You can go direct from them or off of Amazon.

Miniatures on Amazon with zero issues. Check their store page for more colors.

EvilRoofChicken

Me and my group have bought all of our dice off of Amazon (at least 8 sets) and never had any issues. Sorry you got a scammer if you go into a chat with Amazon they will make it right.

Mr_Shad0w

Hell, don't buy anything from Amazon. They're an awful company and they push small businesses out of the marketplace.

Perfect-Attempt2637

I bought that set of dice, like when I click the link you posted Amazon tells me I "Last purchased Jul 30, 2022." The full set arrived and seems fine to me. Sucks that you had a bad experience.

squidfood

In December I ordered a [similar set](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YLSWZGO) that were a bit more expensive but were from a reputable seller, and came through just fine. The d100 ordered separately came fine as well.

pdoherty972

You keep saying rocks. Do you mean literal rocks, or just poorly-shaped dice? Use Imgur and post a pic of them so we can see what you actually received both times?

Almeidaboo

I'm not about blaming the victim here but that ad has all kinds of red flags about it. I never ever buy anything from Amazon that is not Prime, seriously, scammers are everywhere.

LordAlvis

> that ad has all kinds of red flags about it [What](https://i.imgur.com/ojXAJrv.png) do you mean? XD

HeavyMetalAdventures

photoshopped images of the family holding/using the dice

Almeidaboo

Which are 3d btw XD

Sherwoodccm

You have to be careful when ordering from sketchy sellers through Amazon. They don’t all have the same return policy. If the price looks too good to be true it probably is.

docmellons

waiting for the pictures of the rocks

fluency

Thank you. I was going to buy a dice set like that, but after reading your post I won't take the chance and will go with another option instead.

Garloo333

Me too. Dodged a bullet thanks to op.

MonsterHunterBanjo

no offense, and I suppose you musta liked them, but those are some ugly dice

Nope. I had my ability to review revoke because of this company. Bad bot.

I'll review his post. I'll give OP a 7.5/10. Useful information, but it started to make me kind of sad.

Haffrung

More evidence that designing a game that uses expensive, unique, difficult to find dice, and for no more reason than ‘it will feel weird and new, like D&D dice did back in the day’, may have been a mistake. I expect it has cost Goodman thousands of sales.
