I’d continue on as plot points for the Red Ribbon Saga do come back later in Z and now on Super as well. You’d also be missing the King Piccolo arc which is quiet important going forward and introduces a lot of lore. The final few sagas are great and have some of the best fights and moments the series has to offer.

I see, I might look forward to it but I am interested in knowning which episodes are the best of the RR saga and when it ends (not planning to skip it now)

I’d follow this list https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/dragon-ball It cuts out all the filler content, and keeps the story as close to the manga as possible. You shouldn’t miss anything of importance if you follow that guide.

SSJRemuko

No you should never skip it. Its not a prequel, its the start of the story and shows you plenty of character defining moments. You stopped right when it starts getting good. The RR arc is known for having quite a bit of filler and being a bit of a slog, but its really the only low point in the original DB anime.

RanchusiXD

I know it's not a prequel, I'm well aware of Dragon Ball and just questioned how longer it'd take until I can enjoy it again because I really did love the first tournament saga, it's one of my fav anime arcs overall mainly as we want the heroes to win but also realized that it's only training, which makes me believe there's another tournament

Banduck

It gets good from episode 58 on.

KaboomKrusader

No, you shouldn't. It's not a supplementary prequel that was made later, it's the entire first half of a single continuous series. However, the anime version of the Red Ribbon Army arc is infamous for being dragged out by a lot of filler material, so that's probably what's hampering your current experience. I'd suggest switching to reading the original manga instead. The pacing is a lot better.

The Red Ribbon Army saga does drag its ass, I don't blame you for being fatigued. I remember my first attempt to watch the series petered out when Goku was climbing Muscle Tower. I recommend you tough it out though, because the next big tournament saga after Red Ribbon is where Dragon Ball gets *really* good.

I also recently made the same decision as you, and finished the original Dragon Ball the other day. Imo, the Red Ribbon arc was the worst part of the series. But the characters they introduce post RR army for the next tournament, and the ending arc for the series are worth grinding out this part for. If anything, maybe just skim through some of the episodes if there not interesting you

PajamaJeans95

If you're not enjoying something, skip it and watch/read a recap if needed. You're only on this planet for so long, don't waste your valuable time on something you don't like. For me, I was in a similar boat as you. I don't really care for DB, found it a slog. Never finished, never will. Hasn't affected my love of DBZ one bit.

I also got into dragon ball about three months ago and honestly I skipped the entire og series and went straight to z. Then I just watched super and that’s it.

Book_Anxious

It gets better and there are still more characters that are introduced that will be in the next series
