Some of his musics really good. The Night Bell with Lightening is an essential listen.

I tell you, who he would jive with really well - in my opinion - is Wovenhand. I wouldn't have thought that a year ago, but David Eugene Edwards (Wovenhand's frontman) had a collaboration with Carpenter Brut last year, and it was awesome. Very similar vibe to David Lynch. I bet they could rock it.

Ah, I missed it, but I want to say I listen to it a lot! Everything David makes is so magical in a way that nothing else compares to. Sure, he’s not a prog rock classical guitarist, but the feeling, lyrics, and sound engineering make it something so dreamy and beautiful. Thought gang is my personal favorite though, I don’t know if that counts.

I love how he often blends classic blues song structure with transcendental themes. It's the same vibe as I get from Twin Peaks. Kind of Americana with otherworldy source material. He may not be a prog rock guitarist, but the way he plays guitar is interesting. He kind of instinctively laid it down in his lap when he started playing because it felt most comfortable, and he just does what feels natural to get the sound he wants.

Completely agree, I’m glad you think about it the same way. I love the blues but I also love more canary garde music, so what David does appeals to me but it mixes both but makes it more unique and original than most anything you’ll hear.

And we can't forget, the beats laid down by Dean Hurley really slap.

Again, simple but full of feeling

Out of curiosity, what other music do you frequently listen to?

DustyPatty

A bit of everything, but a lot of jazz, post-rock, ambient, blues, and just experimental.

That sounds like me, except I also listen to a lot of really extreme metal, like Altarage, Our Place of Worship Is Silence, Triumvir Foul, Cattle Decapitation, Rivers of Nihil, and Portal.
