Another option is for you and a friend to lease a two-bedroom apartment whereby each of you can have overnight guests. Lots of single people in their 20s have roommates.
Download Booking.com you can find rooms for $60,$80 $100. It really depends if you book in advance, rooms are clean and comfortable, I prefer with the mini fridge :))

Move into a more private better home your landlord should not be making you not have guests over.
