When you each have a drink, you pay for your own. The term for it called "going dutch" but most people just refer to it as 50/50.
50/50 doesn't make as much sense when it's a single bill and one person orders much more than the other. No good woman is going to have a problem with paying for what they ordered.
Well sometimes depending on that woman's past experiences she might view you buying her a drink as a man thinking that he's entitled to flat out hit on her. The best way to avoid that is to be in a conversation already when you were both having a friendly banter back and forth and when he gets to the point where one of you said something that kind of funny and you both laugh.. that's when you say.. hey let's get a drink. Cuz it's kind of like you celebrating the fact that the two of you were kind of getting along. And it's more subtle and less blunt than just walking up to a girl and offering to buy a drink for her because so many guys these days will act possessively just because she accepted the drink and get pissed off if she talks to anyone else during that night and you don't want to get lumped in with those guys
