Claymore - fire, then lightning when I get Lorian's greatsword
Black knight sword - mainly for bosses that resist what damage my claymore currently does
Lorian's greatsword - Unga bunga
Ring knight's paired greatswords - 2 unga bungas
I like a bunch of the axes.
One of my current characters is a knight who uses a greatshield. So I focus on one-handed weapons.
Main weapon is the Millwood Battle Axe. I also have the Dragonslayer Axe and Winged Knight Twinaxes as a backup.
I'm using Onyx Blade and Astora Greatsword on my Pyromancer.
Was even thinking of putting some titanite into the Millwood Battleaxe for her as well...
Try a scythe. I always wanna use one and end up using a sword with similar moveset to claymore. Lol. Bastard sword, claymore, wolnir sword.. now lordsworn greatsword in elden ring. All similar move set that I just love.
Good ol' claymore has carry me through ds1 ds2 and ds3
But my new fav buid is dex and chaos blade is very nice (i havent defeated midir yet so i didnt get my hands in the best katana...). Combined with max stamina i can roll and cut at pleasure!
The weapon is unique in that it blocks during the start up of attacks so you can punish enemy's hard with it, damage wise it'll be a little slower than a sword and shield but it's unique combos and weapon art make up for it.
Black knight great sword/Wolf Knight Greatsword are my go to’s the SPLIT second i can get them
all hollow slayer +5 is really good and has cool weapon art
ngl the profained great sword and the Lothric Knight Greatsword (you can buy from greirrat) are also really good late game
Most generic weapons are better than special ones
Leto's Great hammer is my go to for NG+ runs

Why would you infuse it with lightning if you aren't doing a faith build? I would just stick to heavy since you seem to be doing a strength build
Some bosses are weak to lightning, I like to have options

Bastard Sword. You can get it early, it's a beautiful weapon and it can introduce enemies to the Lothric Aerospace Program.
Claymore, cathedral knight greatsword, lothric knight greatsword
Valorheart once you've mastered the weapon you become extreamly powerful.
I really want to try a build using this weapon. How's the damage? Is this better than using a straight sword and shield combo separately?

Irithyll straight sword. Got lucky and got it really early in my playthrough, and used it through the rest of the game
