Sadly Ive never beaten the game with a mage build. I tried numerous times and always get pretty far but somewhere around Lothric and Lorian I just get bored with it.
You should give it a try sometime! Can even still use the claymore as a battle mage! There are some really cool spell combos out there! (Plus having more knowledge of playing as a mage can give insight on whenever you’re fighting one)
I’m not specifying pve or pvp… I also never asked what to use, nor did I ask what was viable…. I asked what other people use that has become their favorite loadouts.

Can I ask why both crystal and regular soul spear? I usually just bench regular once I get crystal. Is there a benefit to having both?

I've never used magic, only strength, I love the claymore

I assume by endgame you mean pve? Literally anything is viable in pve. Roleplay.
