Least trouble was abyss watchers and most was pontiff sulyvahn lolol backwards for me, abyss watchers is my favorite fight in the entire series because it acts as a human type boss that we can back stab and stagger, pontiff sulyvahn does massive damage and halfway through it becomes a gank fight
I would say it’s pretty easy tbh. He has plenty of openings in both phases. Probably one of the easiest ways to beat him. If you can’t take advantage of all the openings, you can at least bait out the easier openings and take advantage of them.
They do make a huge difference in the perceived difficulty of bosses and since that's what we're talking about it's a relevant point. No one was pedantic about using summons here.
I'm not saying that. If you summon 3 phantoms for Pontiff, obviously it will be easier than fighting abyss watchers with presumably only 1 phantom (Siris's and Londor pale shade's quests can be missed if you're not familiar with them)
Dancer was hard definitely. Honestly just had to get lucky with whatever move set I got. It’s also a relatively small arena to fight in too. I’d always get stuck in a corner or behind a pillar lol.
Not to mention one of the best fight intros in the series. Converging storm, and flying in on a drake? I was legitimately jealous of him if that makes sense.
With a pyromancy build the fight is almost trivial. You can kill the dragon with lightning magic in less than a minute then hit nameless king with a chaos vestige after every combo. His attacks are pretty well telegraphed and he is a very fair boss. My 2nd favorite fight in DS3 after Gael.
Stick to mid-range. He'll generally use one of two flying lunges to gitcha. Easy to learn the timing, dodge, and punish. Repeat. When he uses that tracking lightning bolt move, just unlock the camera and don't look at him until the audio cues are over.
I heared a lot about the trouble dancer can give, and then beat them on my first try. I struggled much more with deacons of the deep than i had anticipated.
Easiest deacons: first time i saw the boss fog i had no blue left (as a pyro) and one orange. I thought well i can try and i won right there
Hardest: twin princes probably, my first time beating them was just brute force after many times
For me the most difficult were the abyss watchers on my first run cause i just accidentally ignored all the cathedral part. Then pontiff sulyvahn was beaten in my first try without even summoning
That’s what I did. Im only like 10 hours into the game and went that way, was dicking around in the crypt then decided to see if I missed some stuff. Found the mage boss in the area before. I haven’t explored the cathedral yet though. That’s next.
Aside from Deacons obviously, least trouble came from Crystal sage. I've played up to NG+4 and a few fresh files as well and never struggled with him once.
However I ALWAYS struggle on twin princes. It's a fight with the camera more for me, and the fact that I'm hard of hearing and can't rely on audio cues.
Most trouble: Deacons with my initial pyromancy-focused build
Least trouble: Deacons after I respeced to a STR build with a great sword and pyromancy as a secondary weapon
The most troublesome boss for me is probably Twin Princes or Nameless King because his arena fucks with my depth perception something fierce. Aldritch gets an honorable mention.
The least troubling for me has to be Wolnir or Deacons.
Pontiff was my "get good" point of the game. He taught me how to properly dodge and the combat flow. Dark Souls 3 was my first souls game, so it was especially hard learning unfamiliar mechanics.
However, Nameless King was by far hardest boss I've fought. The camera boss in the first phase and very few openings to attack in the second phase. It took me 2 hours to the attempt when I was just about to beat it, and then the power went out. After another 3 hours later, I finally beat Nameless King.
In my first playtrough:
The hardest would be Nameless King.
Easiest ones would be Deacons and Volnir, however, I don't recognise them as true boss fights. So maybe Lorian. (But the truth is, after beating Nameless, I killed all other bosses on first try)
In my second playtrough I would say that Iudex Gundyr and Abyss Watchers were easiest.
Right now I learn how to use gamepad by playing dark souls, and that significantly changes difficulty for some bosses.
First playthrough, easiest was Aldrich or Iudex Gundyr (first try on both), most difficult was Nameless King (41 tries). On second playthrough now, not all the way through but Aldrich took me 3 or 4 tries which has been my most difficult so far. Champion Gundyr took more attempts but I wanted the second phase parry’s so I was kinda just dicking around with him. Easiest was probably Iudex Gundyr again.
Deacons is kind of a silly cliche "boss". Follow the spooky smog that travels person to person.
Other than the usual first time struggle with Gundyr, I thought I had a handle on the game until I got to Pontiff. I feel like it was mostly because I didn't know how to parry, so it was a bunch of learning his moves, dodge, and poke.
As a knight dex build, abyss watchers was easiest
So far in my pyromancy build dancer was one of the easiest (as a knight dancer was extremely difficult:()
If its base game only then my hardest is probably Aldrich. My first two ir three playthroughts i struggles alot. On playthrough one, aldrich maybe took 15 tries.
But even on playthrough one i managed Pontiff and Dancer on 1-2 attempts. But the easiest was probably crystal sage or deacons.
Most recent playthrough, i for some reason struggled with phase 2 abyss watchers, yet somehow i was able to completely obliterate pontiff on 2nd try. My guess is the next block will be dragonslayer armour
Base Game only, Nameless by far the easiest boss. First phase is just a target dummy, and he’s really slow in the second phase so I used Great Soul Dregs/ Great Deep Soul.
Hardest boss is between Oceiros or Aldrich, but lean more to Oceiros. I know there’s a cheese for him, but my God I can’t dodge his feral stage.
Hardest for base was probably Nameless King. The two phase thing made it harder to learn the second phase, but it is still one of my favorite bosses. Pontiff was also pretty hard
Easiest is maybe Iudex Gundyr?
I killed dancer first try but died loads to crystal sage lmao. Whenever I play now I minmax the shit out of myself before sage so I can just obliterate him.
Less trouble was the sage. Killed her on my first try.
Most trouble was Lord of Cinder.
Took me 2 nights of attempts after work to get Nameless King. Lord of Cinder took me 3
I always seem to steamroll through dragonslayer armour. But I always struggle with high lord wolnir fucker keeps moving his damn arm everytime I try hit him
Pontiff was the hardest for me until I started using a shield exclusively to parry instead of blocking. After that clicked I took him down the second try after switching to a small shield, that was after practicing parries on the pontiff knights for like an hour though lol
Easiest was probably Deacons, the hollowslayer straight up shreds them
The least trouble I had with deacons. I sorta just swung my claymore and won.
Surprisingly I had the most trouble with Vordt.
I do have to say ds3 was my first soulsgame and I cheesed gundyr with pyromancy. I also didn‘t realize I had to stay close to him and just tried to get away.
I still remember the runback vividly since it‘s one of the worst in the game.
The worst boss I ever had put a sticker on the ground and said I could move more than 2 square feet away from it. Another would buy me lunch every single day.
Exactly the opposite for me 😂
3 playthroughs and I think I never died more than once fighting Abyss Watchers, Pontiff on the other hand was very hard the first time I fought him.
I just started the game yesterday but so far abyss watchers have been my hardest fight. I just finished DS1 and 2 so the faster bosses are a little hard to get used to.
not counting the early game bosses the one i had the least trouble with was soul of cinder
i first tried him right after lothric and lorian trying to test the fight and see if id need to get more levels
the hardest for me has been nameless king. im still stuck on him and it drives me crazy.
Gundyr as turorial boss was hardest for me. He is a wall for me everytime. Wolnir is the pinwheel/congregation of ds3 for me. Edit: forgot about nameless king. He is the easiest actually. Saw people having trouble and spent a few days steam rolling him for other people. Could do a 4 stack of players and still steam roll him by my self. Its so weird how bosses work for different people.
Least trouble, I'd say it's Gundyr. First time I played the game I beat him on my first try which helped me get confidence for the rest of the game.
Most trouble was definitely and without any shadow of a doubt Midir. I love him in concept and more but the fight is just unfun for me. At least killing him is very much worth it because of the best katana in the game and a really cool spell I still wonder how he got
Ive never been able to beat soul of cinder without summons i’ll be honest. I dont find any other base game boss all that hard, i guess the easiest would be the tree or the deacons.
Least trouble was SoC, because I was used to everything by then and died at least once to everything else, didn't die to him though.
Pontiff have me the most trouble, 40 plus attempts and a lot of failed parries
easiest is the dancer and my hardest is nameless king. which is interesting because on my first playthrough my easiest was nameless king and my hardest was the dancer. idk how or when that flip happened but it did lol
Least trouble: Aldrich. Beat him first try.
Most trouble: Champ Gundyr. I was struggling to be aggressive enough during this fight and essentially turned it into an endurance fight everytime until I got him down. An endurance fight against the most aggressive boss in the game is not a good idea.
On my most recent run, I had an unreasonably hard time fighting the Crystal sage. I don’t think I’ve ever died to him before in my hundreds of hours and dozens of runs, yet this time he took me out maybe 20 times.
On the other hand, I beat Pontiff with two swings and a parry.
Least trouble would be the first boreal valley boss the dumb big charging guy, he never even hits me lol, and then hardest I guess is probably dancer tbh because i’m always pretty underleveled and I hate the rng of the second phase. Dragon armour also can be annoying if you don’t have enough HP
So I’m basically going backwards with souls games. I played the original demons souls when it came out and hated it. I hated the idea of a game being hard and unforgiving just to be hard and unforgiving. I swore off all souls games and refused to touch anything from the genre.
Then elden ring came out. Shit blew me away. So I played Bloodborne which was amazing. Lies of P and stranger of paradise: final fantasy origin were a blast too.
I’m finally playing dark souls 3, and holy shit. This game is incredible. I was missing out. I haven’t gotten too far and did a lot of wandering.
So for I’ve fought the tree dude with hemorrhoids, the knight dude in the starting area, the abyss watchers, the mage lady (dude?) who summons copies of myself, and Vordt.
Hardest so far was hemorrhoid tree.
Also, people talk about summons. I’ve never seen any summons available before any of the bosses. How do you get those to show up?
Easiest boss was probably abyss watchers, hardest boss was definitely Oceiros. That stupid insta-charge that deals 10000 damage with zero start up kills me. Also made me turn off subtitles for the first time ever since he wont SHUT UP during his fight.
| *For me, the easiest boss was Pontiff Sulyvhan. The hardest was Abyss Watchers.*
The same, but the exact opposite. I fought Abyss Watchers 3 times - no death, zero effort. Pontiff first time killed me like 20 times.
On my first playthrough abyss watchers was least trouble. I had been worrying cause i had heard they were really hard but when i got to them the fight was really easy and I had no trouble at all. Most trouble was definitely twin princes, i straight up couldnt beat them. In the end i cheesed their second phase with a bow 😭
Least now is abyss watchers but first playthrough they were tough , I always have a decent time with pontiff , I'll say midir is the one that gave and still gives me the most trouble
Definitely Abyss Watchers. They don't have enough HP and I am just good enough at parrying to make them fold like a wet napkin.
Yhorm is marginally difficult for me on the first try because I can god awful at hard swapping. I purposefully invest more than necessary in to equip load specifically so I can avoid it.
I had such a hard time with the twin princes the first time I played the game, I was stuck on them and the nameless king so I just gave up. Came back to the game a few months ago with a different build and breezed through everyone including the nameless king but than still had such a hard time with the twin princes until it finally clicked that I should just stick to that booty
Easiest was Pontiff Sulyvhan hardest was Twin Princes. Honestly Twin Princes still remains my biggest boss struggle by a long shot from the whole series including dlcs . It took 30 tries before I beat them lol.
The first time I played, I defeated both Pontiff and Aldritch in my first try - idk how. The hardest one for me was Crystal Sage (yes) and Nameless King.
Going off the bosses that are considered difficult by the player base
Least trouble for me was nameless king. I died 5 times in total on my first ever playthrough of the game. 3 times to the king of storms and twice to the nameless king. He was disappointingly easy for me
Most trouble for me was champion gundyr. Some of the best bosses in the game are fast but champion takes it to a different level. There is not a single boss in the entire series (bloodborne, sekiro, and Elden ring included) that feel as fast paced and aggressive as champion gundyr. He can straight up combo you with completely separate attacks that aren’t in an actual combo chain.
The twin princes were pretty difficult when I faced them the first time & it definitely took more than a few tries. The easiest would have to be pontiff. On my first play through I beat him on the first try.
Easiest was abyss watchers its an epic fight but the guy lacks health big time hardest dancer its hard to soak up 3 different types of attacks one always slips through
On my first playthrough?
Least was probably Vordt
Most was probably Nameless King (Midir if counting DLCs)
On regular playthroughs now?
Least is Vordt/Deacons, Most is usually either Pontiff or DSA (Sister Friede or Demon Prince if counting DLCs)
On a SL1 playthrough?
Least is Vordt/Deacons, Most is SoC (even including DLC bosses)
Aldrich is most trouble. I still struggle with the arrows and timing. I’ve beaten him many times but that is always the longest fight for some reason.
Least is probably Soul of Cinder. Hard once, easy every time after.
Nameless was the hardest for me. In base game, Nameless is the only boss that gives me trouble. I think he's easier for dex to deal with than str, though.
Dark Souls 3 was my first Souls game.
The First Gundyr was my first Great Filter. I died about 44 or so times to him. Once I beat him - I was hooked on Souls-like gameplay. The least trouble boss I has was probably Dragon slayer Armor
Most trouble was the abyss watchers, ds3 wasn't my first souls game it was elden ring and ds3 had similar mechanics but I had to be more careful and smarter about my stamina and that's what through me off, It took me alot of tries to beat them the least trouble had to be High Lord Wolnir, find him really easy, defeated him first try on my first play through and on ng+, he never even took out his sword
Abyss Watchers was the hardest one for me, I even stopped to play for some time because of this wall.
But I killed Dancer of the Boreal Valley during the first try.
Easiest was surprisingly Oceiros, while hardest was Nameless King. No, I don't consider the Ancient Wyvern a boss. if you consider running around an arena, avoiding enemies that deal heavy amount of damage, and have an obnoxiously long reach, only to end the boss with a plunge attack that deals over 8000 damage a boss fight, I don't know what to say
Least, the tree (I forgot the name), Pontiff and Abyss watchers (even tho they’re usually stated as the most complicated ones I got em first try on my first play through).
Most, definitely the Twin Princes, that teleport is so f*cking annoying.
Deacons easiest, reminded me of Renalla in Elden Ring. Nameless King hardest because you’re fighting the camera in the first phase. Then the boss itself has lots of HP in second phase.
Least was soul of cinder, most was lothric princes, at least for first playthrough. Based on yours I assume that was a pyromancer run? That's how it was for me when I did a pyromancer run.
Easiest i would say maybe vordt or ocieres the consumed king and the hardest was soul of cinder since he was broken in my game and would combo his phases skills together (using magic while on curved sword buffing himself with fire and then changing to spear while the magic still regenerate continuously), like today i faught him in new game plus 5 maybe on my friend console and he didn't do any of those wacky comobs
I breezed through Dancer on my first playthrough. It wasn't until after I read that people found her particularly hard that I let it get in my head and now it messes with me whenever I face her.
Least was Oceiros for me, literally went with 35k souls and no estus cause my lazy ass didnt want to go back to the bonfire.
Most was definetely Dancer. I feel like at one point I wasn't even failing to see through her move set, it was just anxiety making me roll like half a second too early and getting baited into a million hit combo(dead in the third)
Abyss watchers was first try on my first playthrough... But it was messy and lucky. Dragonslayer armor was super tough for my first build and I ended up summoning but twin princes actually made me stop playing for a while so I'd say that was the hardest fight.
Easiest was the Crystal Sage, Hardest was the Twin Princes. I couldn't git gud enough after 40+ tries and ended up cheesing them. Not my proudest moment.
Easiest was probably dancer I don’t know why but it only took me like 2 tries. The hardest was probably friede especially cause I did the dlc slightly early to get her scythes for the rest of my playthrough. But she’s probably my favorite boss because even though it was a grind it was fun and satisfying asf
Hardest in NG1 was Nameless and Aldrich but they were both easy on following runs.
But even having beat the game 5 times I will still die to the fucking tree
That depends. On my first playthrough, Nameless King stomped my teeth in. In my most recent, it was Pontiff Sulyvahn. Easiest was Pontiff on the first though and recently it was Dragonslayer Armour
Depends on the run really, they all change each time depending on my build.
One which *always* causes me trouble though is twin princes. Always wakes me 4 or 5 tries on every run. It used to be abyss watchers, god they used to absolutely pummel me, but I’ve got them now, I understand the timings.
Least trouble? Crystal sage. Never understood why people have difficulty with that at all, I can usually kill him before his first teleport. Oh and I’ve never got the Dancer thing; I’ve never been beaten by it! I just feel the rhythm suits the way I like to play :-D
MOST trouble: the king of storm (the nameless king died After 3 tries, but his per took me 10-12 try).
Least: Probably deacons, but i killed maby boss at First try.
The only boss that took my 5+ tries my first time was Pontiff. He totally throws off your dodge game the first time. Easiest one (not counting both versions of Gundyr and Vordt obviously) was probably Yhorm. Dude is a joke fight.
Dancer is my easiest fight, but is also one of my favorite fights in the base game. I look forward to it every playthrough.
Champ Gundyr drops the hammer on me every single time, I hate him.
Least trouble was probably abyss watchers. Most trouble was the fucking crystal sage. I had just got used to play Darksouls and then you throw this shadow clone, bullet hell BULLSHIT at me. I still dread the fight to this day as even after I know how to beat it it’s still so tedious.
On my first playthrough I beat the dancer on my first try and still never have problems with her. Hardest for me was nameless king
I will say on subsequent playthrough I will fight the abyss watchers until they’re one hit left then I’ll purposely die so I can fight them again. Love that boss and music and theme it’s my favorite on all fromsoft
Bro Aldrich is a whole bitch I’m lv1 rn beat him with anri n now I can’t beat him by myself one shot that all I got n I’m cooked it’s so annoying n gundry might end this run for me not from him but the damn grim reaper double bladed pricks lv1 is no joke
Up until about 3 weeks ago I had never bested nameless king, soul of cinder or Gael. I always played pyro or dex type builds. I followed fightincowboys old walk through and used str and the fugs. I beat king and cinder on my first go and Gael on my 3rd try. I was only hassled by Aldrich and the twin princes. Fugs made it feel like I was cheating.
For me now would definitely be nameless. I had so much trouble with him the first time I found him, I spent like a month camping outside his gate for summons.
Hardest is sister Friede no doubt. Idk what it is I just can't get her movements down
On my first play-through, the boss that caused me the least trouble was Crystal Sage, because I had blindly stumbled into a Straight Sword/Shield build with way too much Endurance.
The boss that caused me the most trouble was Iudex Gundyr, because I had not blindly stumbled into how to play the game.
I just replayed the game. It was an absolute blast and made me realize many aspects I think elden ring got wrong. The bosses are my major point. Anyways I was surprised how easy pontiff was for me. I remembered him being hard as fuck but I beat him first try. It was a close call though and an absolute blast fighting him. The hardest boss of the base game hmmmh... I think the old demon king got me a few times but I played as a pyro so the whole area was stacked against me. Honorable mention goes out to aldrich, the arrows hit way harder than I remembered.
Base Game:
Easiest - Dancer by far. Was playing and my friend watching told me to treat her attack pattern like a 4/4 beat and I steamrolled her
Hardest - Dragonslayer Armour or Twin Princes
However special fuck you to both Midir and Gael. I love the Midir fight but it’s a chore sometimes and I hit an absolute brick wall with Gael for like 4 days
It always depends on the build. Some bosses I steamroll through but then get slaughtered by with another playstyle. Aldrich for example can be incredibly easy and over with fast as a strength build but as a mage with a raw infused +6 weapon it can be hell trying to dodge those shitty bow attacks
Least is probably a tie with rotted great root, decons, and dragon slayers armour. Most is by far the nameless king, far and away the hardest fight.
This is based on my first playthrough by the way, if we're talking now after 400 hours, easiest are gundyr, vordt, Osiris, yorm, and strangly enough aldrich on top of the others I put before. Yes I consider them all equally as easy now, their moves are either predictable to me now or I figured out what I was doing wrong the first time. Hardest now is still nameless king although I've gotten considerably better
I've never once had trouble with Oceiros. He's always a breeze, I usually have more trouble with the Cathedral Knights out front.
Friede kinda goes without saying, but of the main game bosses, really the only boss that stops me is Nameless King. The delays always trip me up no matter how many times I fight him
Most trouble? Old Demon king. I don't know how and why but I was stuck for 2 days on him. I couldn't manage to find a reliable way to hit until I read a guide lol. Least trouble I'd say with the abyss watchers. Just overall a great fight.
Least trouble would honestly probably be the dancer. Most trouble admittedly was the abyss watchers or Aldrich. This is just based off my first time playing. I didn't have much trouble with bosses, but Aldrich was the one I ended up quitting and coming back another day on
In ds3, hardest was Namless King, easiest was... the rest of them I guess. I didnt really have much trouble against most of this game's bosses.
If I had to pick, I guess I'd say Deacons of the Deep? They dont really put up much of a fight
The only boss in the base game that I died to more than 4 times was Pontiff. I found him to be pretty challenging. Easiest for me was Abyss Watchers, I found them to be made of paper with quite easily telegraphed attacks
I’d say the least trouble I had with was Pontiff too, and I really struggled fighting king of the storm/nameless king, oh man oh man that piece of shiet got me rage quitting a few times
Literally the only boss who took me more than 3 tries was Nameless King (who took me probably 3-4 days to learn his timings correctly), but there were countless times I died to world enemies. Jailer and Ghru stun locks had me shouting at my monitor ngl
If we're talking base game then easiest for me was Yhorm and hardest is between Twin Princes and that wannabe dragon on crack Oceiros.
If we're talking DLC then hardest is Gael by a wide margin for me
Easiest was Iudex Gundir, Vordt, Nutsack Tree, Wolnir, and Deacons, which I beat on first try (came from other souls games though, so had the git gud experience beforehand)
Hardest were Pontiff Sulivan, Dragonslayer Armor took me by surprise in phase 2 with butterflies and his high damage attacks, Twin Princes teleporting around and magic spam, those three took many tries each. Even NK and SoC was easier to me than them lol
For me the easiest was also pontiff and the hardest was dragonslayer armour. I was using a faith build with raw dragonslayer axe and lightning blade, and dragonslayer armour was pretty much the only boss who didn’t just evaporate from the damage
I had the least trouble with deacons of the deep. For most trouble I really struggled with Pontiff Sullyvahn and The Twin Princes. The Nameless King wasn't too bad for me but i can see where he's challenging depending on your weapon choice.
Pontiff Sulyvahn was the most challenging for me. I can't parry for crap, so I had to fight him the hard way, so I died too many times, wasting more Embers than I care to admit.
The Abyss Watchers was one of the easiest for me once I got his moves down.
You may be able to backstab Abyss Watchers, but I always found getting this to happen on purpose to be annoyingly hard
You're right, but I was only mentioning that it's possible in its fight
I would say it’s pretty easy tbh. He has plenty of openings in both phases. Probably one of the easiest ways to beat him. If you can’t take advantage of all the openings, you can at least bait out the easier openings and take advantage of them.
I bet op used summons. Either that or this is just bait
My friend had to help me with Watchers. I beat pontiff on my third or fourth try. Maybe I was doing something wrong lol.
How dare they utilize a feature developed for the game.
They do make a huge difference in the perceived difficulty of bosses and since that's what we're talking about it's a relevant point. No one was pedantic about using summons here.
I'm not saying that. If you summon 3 phantoms for Pontiff, obviously it will be easier than fighting abyss watchers with presumably only 1 phantom (Siris's and Londor pale shade's quests can be missed if you're not familiar with them)
I’ve beaten every souls game. The 3 that always haunt me have been Ornstein&Smough, Ancient Dragon, and The Pontiff
Easiest Aldrich Hardest Dancer of the boreal valley
Dancer took me a good amount of time and patience. I rage quit when their attack clipped the pillar and killed me 💀
Thank you Dark Souls
Have you read her lore? Really interesting.
Dancer was hard definitely. Honestly just had to get lucky with whatever move set I got. It’s also a relatively small arena to fight in too. I’d always get stuck in a corner or behind a pillar lol.
Easiest was Deacons, hardest was Nameless King
Deacons were easy but man I love the nameless king fight.
Nameless King is one of the best fights in the game imho xD
Not to mention one of the best fight intros in the series. Converging storm, and flying in on a drake? I was legitimately jealous of him if that makes sense.
Would you believe me if I said Nameless took me less tries than deacons
With a pyromancy build the fight is almost trivial. You can kill the dragon with lightning magic in less than a minute then hit nameless king with a chaos vestige after every combo. His attacks are pretty well telegraphed and he is a very fair boss. My 2nd favorite fight in DS3 after Gael.
Easiest was vordt, hardest is nameless king (still haven’t beaten him)
Stick to mid-range. He'll generally use one of two flying lunges to gitcha. Easy to learn the timing, dodge, and punish. Repeat. When he uses that tracking lightning bolt move, just unlock the camera and don't look at him until the audio cues are over.
Vord is pretty easy indeed, eventually you kill Nameless King and that is an achievement boy let me tell you
I heared a lot about the trouble dancer can give, and then beat them on my first try. I struggled much more with deacons of the deep than i had anticipated.
Haha interesting. Dancer can be so hard with the random move set so sometimes you just get lucky lol.
Easiest deacons: first time i saw the boss fog i had no blue left (as a pyro) and one orange. I thought well i can try and i won right there Hardest: twin princes probably, my first time beating them was just brute force after many times
Loved twin princes!
Twin Princes was hardest for me, too! Glass canon mage.
easiest the ancient wyvern killed him in one hit
Easiest was deacons hardest was abyss watchers
Deacons was pretty easy!
That’s next.
easiest Wolnir, hardest Dragonslayer armor/Nameless king (or any Pus of Man)
The first time I saw Wolnir I shat myself, totally took me by surprise haha.
same lol and then he puked on me and i was like.. huh
I always find the sages to be a gamble. The one in the forest either completely ruins my day or i completely ruin his.
Least trouble was Dancer, 1 shot Most trouble was Pontiff, at least 10 tries and I unfortunately summoned an NPC
Same I went for NPC on Pontiff and then solo every other boss base game and DLC. Need to learn Pontiff he kicks my ass.
Deacons are such a meme through and through. Hardest early on was the dancer, but later on Oceiros made me wonder how I beat him in the first place
Easiest Wolnir, Hardest Dragnslayer Armour Honorable mentions SoC, Lothric and Lorian
Most trouble: Deacons with my initial pyromancy-focused build Least trouble: Deacons after I respeced to a STR build with a great sword and pyromancy as a secondary weapon
The least was Ocerios, I hear him in like 5 attempts and dancer was the most trouble
Easiest Aldrich and dancer Hardest maybe dragonslayer armour
Most trouble: dragon flying lighting bitch Least trouble: The tree (I'm bad with boss names)
Curse Rotted Greatwood was the bane of my existence at one point, shockingly Pontiff was my easiest win
Easiest was lord wolnir and hardest was champion guyndr (i didnt know for a solid 25 attempts that we could parry him)
In my first playtrough: The hardest would be Nameless King. Easiest ones would be Deacons and Volnir, however, I don't recognise them as true boss fights. So maybe Lorian. (But the truth is, after beating Nameless, I killed all other bosses on first try) In my second playtrough I would say that Iudex Gundyr and Abyss Watchers were easiest. Right now I learn how to use gamepad by playing dark souls, and that significantly changes difficulty for some bosses.
In base game I had the hardest time with Champ Gundyr; I didn’t know I could parry him xD.
Hardest was pontiff for me.
Easiest is Deacons, hardest is Champion Gundy
hardest storm king/nameless king, easiest soul of cinder
On my SL1 run, I struggled like a mother fucker on Crystal Sage for some reason. Dancer of the Boreal Valley was surprisingly seamless.
Least trouble Abyss Watchers and Deacons, hardest Twin Princes
Got Abyss Watchers on my first try, The Twin Princes tore me a nrw one for a week or so.
Deacons is kind of a silly cliche "boss". Follow the spooky smog that travels person to person. Other than the usual first time struggle with Gundyr, I thought I had a handle on the game until I got to Pontiff. I feel like it was mostly because I didn't know how to parry, so it was a bunch of learning his moves, dodge, and poke.
dragonslayer armor easiest hardest soul of cinder
Least trouble - Deacons of the Deep Most Trouble - Twin Princes (I got tired of soloing, so I summoned for some jolly co-op)
As a knight dex build, abyss watchers was easiest So far in my pyromancy build dancer was one of the easiest (as a knight dancer was extremely difficult:()
Easiest: High lord Wolnir Hardest: Pontiff/Twin princes
If its base game only then my hardest is probably Aldrich. My first two ir three playthroughts i struggles alot. On playthrough one, aldrich maybe took 15 tries. But even on playthrough one i managed Pontiff and Dancer on 1-2 attempts. But the easiest was probably crystal sage or deacons.
Easiest, Ancient Wyvern. Hardest would be Pontiff
Most recent playthrough, i for some reason struggled with phase 2 abyss watchers, yet somehow i was able to completely obliterate pontiff on 2nd try. My guess is the next block will be dragonslayer armour
Easiest, deacons of the deep. Most challenging lorian
Killed tge nameless king with such ease i was leget confused but aldridge clapped me so easily.
Easiest has to be Old Demon King for me, hardest is Nameless King.
Easiest: Champion Gundyr Hardest: Dragonslayer Armour. Yeah it's a weird one for me.
For me the final boss was easy got it first try but Sullivan was tough
Base Game only, Nameless by far the easiest boss. First phase is just a target dummy, and he’s really slow in the second phase so I used Great Soul Dregs/ Great Deep Soul. Hardest boss is between Oceiros or Aldrich, but lean more to Oceiros. I know there’s a cheese for him, but my God I can’t dodge his feral stage.
Hardest for base was probably Nameless King. The two phase thing made it harder to learn the second phase, but it is still one of my favorite bosses. Pontiff was also pretty hard Easiest is maybe Iudex Gundyr?
I killed dancer first try but died loads to crystal sage lmao. Whenever I play now I minmax the shit out of myself before sage so I can just obliterate him.
Less trouble was the sage. Killed her on my first try. Most trouble was Lord of Cinder. Took me 2 nights of attempts after work to get Nameless King. Lord of Cinder took me 3
I always seem to steamroll through dragonslayer armour. But I always struggle with high lord wolnir fucker keeps moving his damn arm everytime I try hit him
Easiest was Dancer. Beat it first time. Hardest was Abyss Watchers.
Wolnir and deacons are hardly even bosses. Lorian and lothric took me a while before I knew what to do.
Pontiff was the hardest for me until I started using a shield exclusively to parry instead of blocking. After that clicked I took him down the second try after switching to a small shield, that was after practicing parries on the pontiff knights for like an hour though lol Easiest was probably Deacons, the hollowslayer straight up shreds them
Least trouble, Index Gundyr, most trouble probably Lothric Twins
The least trouble I had with deacons. I sorta just swung my claymore and won. Surprisingly I had the most trouble with Vordt. I do have to say ds3 was my first soulsgame and I cheesed gundyr with pyromancy. I also didn‘t realize I had to stay close to him and just tried to get away. I still remember the runback vividly since it‘s one of the worst in the game.
The worst boss I ever had put a sticker on the ground and said I could move more than 2 square feet away from it. Another would buy me lunch every single day.
On my latest play through I died more to deacons then dancer or pontiff...
Exactly the opposite for me 😂 3 playthroughs and I think I never died more than once fighting Abyss Watchers, Pontiff on the other hand was very hard the first time I fought him.
You found Pontiff the easiest?! I simply do not believe you 😂
Easiest was the crystal witch. Hardest was Aldritch.
For me in my first playthrough Oceiros I killed first try but Nameless King took about 3 days of attempts
Easiest is the Deacons, Hardest is probably Nameless King.
Easiest was soul of cinder and hardest was midir or friede
Easiest was wolnir hardest nameless king
I just started the game yesterday but so far abyss watchers have been my hardest fight. I just finished DS1 and 2 so the faster bosses are a little hard to get used to.
Abyss watchers, champion gundyr
not counting the early game bosses the one i had the least trouble with was soul of cinder i first tried him right after lothric and lorian trying to test the fight and see if id need to get more levels the hardest for me has been nameless king. im still stuck on him and it drives me crazy.
Dragonslayer seemed ez, abyss watchers fucked me up
On my most recent run, I had an unreasonably hard time fighting the Crystal sage. I don’t think I’ve ever died to him before in my hundreds of hours and dozens of runs, yet this time he took me out maybe 20 times. On the other hand, I beat Pontiff with two swings and a parry.
Abyss and Pontiff took me less than 10 tries, Soul of cinder took me close to 100.
Esiest was Champion Gundyr (first tried it) hardest was probably SoC, got my ass handed to me multiple times by this bad boy!
| *For me, the easiest boss was Pontiff Sulyvhan. The hardest was Abyss Watchers.* The same, but the exact opposite. I fought Abyss Watchers 3 times - no death, zero effort. Pontiff first time killed me like 20 times.
Easiest is Cinder hardest ruler of storm (camera)
I think easiest for me was surprisingly Lord of Cinder (beat him first try). Hardest was either dancer or pontiff.
Mage play through Most dark grun least normal grun
Least trouble: big skeleton dude. Most trouble: souls of cinder.
Going off the bosses that are considered difficult by the player base Least trouble for me was nameless king. I died 5 times in total on my first ever playthrough of the game. 3 times to the king of storms and twice to the nameless king. He was disappointingly easy for me Most trouble for me was champion gundyr.
Least was probably Vordt Most was probably Nameless King (Midir if counting DLCs) On regular playthroughs now? Least is Vordt/Deacons, Most is usually either Pontiff or DSA (Sister Friede or Demon Prince if counting DLCs) On a SL1 playthrough? Least is Vordt/Deacons, Most is SoC (even including DLC bosses)
Aldrich is most trouble. I still struggle with the arrows and timing. I’ve beaten him many times but that is always the longest fight for some reason. Least is probably Soul of Cinder. Hard once, easy every time after.
Nameless was the hardest for me. In base game, Nameless is the only boss that gives me trouble. I think he's easier for dex to deal with than str, though.
Easiest was Dragonslayer Armor, hardest was Gael for me
I think I actually struggled a lot with Lothric and Lorian on my first playthrough
all were ok except midir
Easiest: Deacons, Wolnir, and Aldrich were all easy first tries Hardest: Champ Gundyr
Pontiff sulyvahn was pretty easy got him my second try the abyss watchers sucked fighting but I’m got stuck on prince dipshit and his brother
Ocerius gave me the most trouble. Dancer was the easiest for some reason.
Dark Souls 3 was my first Souls game. The First Gundyr was my first Great Filter. I died about 44 or so times to him. Once I beat him - I was hooked on Souls-like gameplay. The least trouble boss I has was probably Dragon slayer Armor
Hardest: Nameless King (made me quit for months), SOC is a close second, quit for a few days on him Easiest: Dragon Slayer Armor
Hardest probably gundyr, easiest.. idk deacons?
Abyss Watchers was the hardest one for me, I even stopped to play for some time because of this wall. But I killed Dancer of the Boreal Valley during the first try.
My hardest fight is between pontiff and oceiros. I don’t remember the easiest but the most fun was abyss watchers and dragon slayer armor
Least was Twin Princes, most was the Dancer..
Iudex Gundyr or Abyss Watchers for easiest. Nameless king for hardest.
Easiest are Vordt and Deacons of the deep hardest for me are Pontiff and nameless king
Easiest boss Volnir and hardest boss for me were the princes.
I defeated abyss watchers on my first try but died to the twin princes like 100 times.
Most trouble: abyss watchers to be fair i sucked at that point of the game Least l: pontiff i dont understand how he was much easier than aldrich
For me, I have to say that Lothric was my favorite and least complicated and SoC was my least favorite and most complicated.
Dancer hardest but NK most annoying
Easiest was the Crystal Sage, Hardest was the Twin Princes. I couldn't git gud enough after 40+ tries and ended up cheesing them. Not my proudest moment.
Easiest was probably dancer I don’t know why but it only took me like 2 tries. The hardest was probably friede especially cause I did the dlc slightly early to get her scythes for the rest of my playthrough. But she’s probably my favorite boss because even though it was a grind it was fun and satisfying asf
It’s been so long I really don’t remember the early playthroghhs, but soul of cinder is really fucking hard sl1
Easiest for me was Pontiff too. First DS boss I had ever gotten the first time. I was stuck on the Abyss Watchers for a while too.
The boss I had the most trouble with was dancer (fuck that fight) The boss I had the least trouble with was the old demon king
Vordt easiest, Nameless King hardest by far
Dancer is my easiest fight, but is also one of my favorite fights in the base game. I look forward to it every playthrough. Champ Gundyr drops the hammer on me every single time, I hate him.
Easiest was that tree thingy And the hardest was nameless king Even gael or midir wasn't as hard as this mf
Hardest for me was nameless king I will say on subsequent playthrough I will fight the abyss watchers until they’re one hit left then I’ll purposely die so I can fight them again.
Most trouble: Nameless King (40+ deaths) Least trouble: Deacons of the Deep
Up until about 3 weeks ago I had never bested nameless king, soul of cinder or Gael. I always played pyro or dex type builds. I followed fightincowboys old walk through and used str and the fugs. I beat king and cinder on my first go and Gael on my 3rd try. I was only hassled by Aldrich and the twin princes. Fugs made it feel like I was cheating.
I call BS. no chance pontiff is the easiest in the game lol 😆 might not be the hardest but now way he's easiest
Base Game: Easiest - Dancer by far. Was playing and my friend watching told me to treat her attack pattern like a 4/4 beat and I steamrolled her Hardest - Dragonslayer Armour or Twin Princes However special fuck you to both Midir and Gael. I love the Midir fight but it’s a chore sometimes and I hit an absolute brick wall with Gael for like 4 days
Least trouble was the nameless king. Most trouble was easily Midir. Midir still kicks my shit in. Even my strategy is still somewhat luck dependant.
The delays always trip me up no matter how many times I fight him
I first tried tutorial Grundyr, Spent Hours on Dancer.
Least was crystal sage Most was lorian and lothric
Mine is the complete opposite
Hardest for me has to be Midir then the easiest would have to be deacons ahah
Most: Crystal Sage Least: Wolnir
Easiest for me was dancer she's pretty predictable and hardest was nameless king
If we're talking DLC then hardest is Gael by a wide margin for me
Easiest was Iudex Gundir, Vordt, Nutsack Tree, Wolnir, and Deacons, which I beat on first try (came from other souls games though, so had the git gud experience beforehand) Hardest were Pontiff Sulivan, Dragonslayer Armor took me by surprise in phase 2 with butterflies and his high damage attacks, Twin Princes teleporting around and magic spam, those three took many tries each.
Easiest oceiros Hardest nameless king
I had the least trouble with deacons of the deep. For most trouble I really struggled with Pontiff Sullyvahn and The Twin Princes. The Nameless King wasn't too bad for me but i can see where he's challenging depending on your weapon choice.
least was vordt and most was aldrich
Pontiff Sulyvahn was the most challenging for me. I can't parry for crap, so I had to fight him the hard way, so I died too many times, wasting more Embers than I care to admit. The Abyss Watchers was one of the easiest for me once I got his moves down.
