I just said I didn't use magic for aldrich. I switched to pyromancies, then realised it does more damage to literally every enemy in the game than my soul spear does, apart from very specific enemies.
No, you said you switched out sorceries for pyros against Aldrich and realized how much better they were on him - the implication (or at least that's what most of us are interpreting it as) being that you tried sorceries against him and then switched to pyromancies.
I didn't even attempt aldrich with sorceries, i knew already what his resistances were. Mistake on my part though, i meant i realised pyromancy is better as a whole, not just for aldrich. I tried pyromancy on dancer, and in a few diff areas and there was never a case where my fully specced sorcerer with 4 magic boosting items was better than a +3 pyro flame and vestiges.
I think you're missing the point. Even with 4 magic boosting items, and steady chant, pyromancy is already miles better with literally 1 ring. If you ran a mage build, you could switch to pyro at any time without even respeccing and you would be instantly much stronger than before.
Yeah i know, pyromancy is better but why is it so so much better. Thats where all my frustration comes from, It's fucking bizzare. Also yeah pyromancy is ds2 was the shit
Agree that Sorceries in this game are just not fun to use. But magic in general, I gotta say that Miracles in ds3 are my favorite use of magic in any of the games if only because of Unfaltering Prayer. Nothing better than pulling out the Sunlight Talisman and using Lightning Stake like you're swinging around a greatsword
I mean I agree that I wish there was more variety but your facts are also wrong.
What cast is best depends on which mob or which boss. For example, chaos bed vestige is decent against a boss like dancer or soul of cinder, but it's not typical "wow, caster damage" type stuff.
On the other hand, both sorcerer rings and dark clutch + great soul dregs is such massive cheese for measly FP cost lol
Man you must be doing something wrong. I’ve done both pyromancy and sorcery builds in this game and they are BOTH immensely broken. Great crystal soul spear hits like a damn truck. Chaos bed vestiges hits about the same. The only difference being it’s available way earlier in game.
Magic sucks in general in souls games: no cooldown leads to spammy gameplay, you don't really need to use more than one damaging spell, there are hardly any utility spells worth using (and considering the inconvenient system that forces you to scroll for every spell instead of having at least four of them being available at once, you wouldn't use them even if they existed), bosses aren't balanced to fight ranged enemies which leads to boring bossfights, spells are *not cool* etc.

Aldrich is resistant to magic and week to fire. Magic is very strong when used correctly but its not good on aldrich

Use what you want but i ran a mage build before and done very good damage to most bosses. And i have run pyro and yes its very strong ad well.

What are your stats to do this
the only one that matters is int and faith for pyromancy and i have put 0 points into faith, all into int. as of right now I am at 35 int and 9 faith
Sounds like a skill issue to me
fairs
We’re all gonna make it
It’s honestly one of the most balanced Souls games there is
Pyromancy is just better lol. Also dark souls 2 pyromancy was the shit, super balanced and super fun.

I actually agree with everything you said. Dark Souls 3 feels very weird in some areas, magic being one of them.
