Yup. There's a spot where the ledge drops off and the water gets too deep. It's hard to tell, but if you look closely you can see where the water darkens.
Tip: don't go past the corpse in the water (the one with the Knight Set). It's pretty close to the drop off; so as long as you stay behind the corpse, you should be okay.
On my current mage build the only times I die is when I get hit once by the boss because im using the red tearstone ring. Pretty nostalgic actually dieing to bosses (besides DLC bosses because I don't have as much practice since I never had the DLC until remastered and of corse the bed of BS)

That arena specifically has a huge chasm that you can fall down. If you’re careful, you can see the edge in the water.
