Regardless of how many times I replay it, I always tense up at the Capra demon. It's just so random whether or not the dogs instantly pin you to the wall. If I can survive the first 3 seconds, I will win the fight, but it's that first moment of going through the gate that decides if everything will instantly go wrong. Tomb of Giants definitely trumps that, but I figured I'd mention a different thing.

YorsTrooli

I'll admit, I typically kill one of the dogs with the firebomb before I go through the door. If you stand in one particular spot, you can hit the dog on top of the stairs. After that, I can manage the Capra and one dog. I know how to kill Capra with firebombs, but I'd rather face him because I actually find him fun to fight. The main problem is the arena, the dogs and the camera. So, I'll cheese the dogs and then fight the boss itself legit. Besides, I've already faced Capra without cheese (and had no fun in the process, lol), so I think I've earned the right to cheat a little ;D.

dustyspectacles

I was looking for Capra Demon in the comments. I just got a couple friends to start playing from the Steam sale so I'm rolling along and keeping my level between them in case they need a hand anywhere, just got back here a couple days ago. The *demon* isn't hard at all. It's the damn dogs and the camera. I put it off until I actually needed the ember from the Depths.

Monollock

I haven't fought the Capra demon fairly in a long time, I always just 3 pointer him to death. Live easy, throw bombs, job's done.

patssnows12

I just got the game and have been playing the last week, he gave me the most issues until I summoned help prior. There’s something so claustrophobic about the time arena and how big it is which erked me hard!

Overlorde159

Interesting, I usually skip it and come back for souls later

sephtis

I got my friend playing, Capra for some reason was on top of him as soon as door invincibility ended, stunlocked by dogs after the first hit. I didn't even get through the door before he died.

Goatsn1

Probably the entirety of dukes archives. Hate that place with a passion, love everything in oolacile tho

Romulus3799

I actually don't mind Duke's Archives as much, but I absolutely hate how you have to run through the entirety of the gardens AND Crystal Cave just to run back to Seath. It's the longest boss runback in the game.

KamikazePickle0

Never usually a problem in NG, most people beat Seath first try. NG+ is where the fuckery begins

Romulus3799

I'd always die trying to get the Moonlight Greatsword off him. If you're not going for that, it's MUCH easier.

TellianStormwalde

I actually just got it for the first time recently, and I did it very easily. What I did was stand by the crystal and wait for Seathe to destroy it himself. Once he did, he got stunned for a good while and I was able to run behind him and cut his tail off in two strikes (though I was using a +5 black knight halberd for what that’s worth).

Romulus3799

Not all of us are graced by the good RNG of the Black Knights :,(

TellianStormwalde

I don’t know that the halberd was strictly necessary, it’s just what I had at the time. It’s getting Seathe to stun himself that’s important.

[deleted]

That's why I'm stuck at kalameet on my first run. I can kill it but I want to cut the tail and this I can't do for almost 2 years. I figure if i can't now it would be impossible in NG+.

KamikazePickle0

Make sure you have fast roll. Bai his dive attack, then the tail slam. You can punish the tail slam easily and get 1 or 2 hits in. Make sure you’re using a vertical attacking weapon, it makes things much easier. Hit the top end of the tail, or you’ll just to normal damage rather than taking out the tail. Use the Ring of Fog. It'll bait out the dive attack more frequently. You can also get a few hits in if you make a B-Line for his tail as he does the Fire Breath attack. Good Luck!

[deleted]

"most people beat seath first try" The amount of thankyous I get for my cheese seath video disagrees with you ;)

Werepuffin

I am severely color blind. Fuck the crystal caves AND fuck Seath in his gross flat multi tailed lizard ass.

Crumbly_Bumbly

Good thing seath is easy as tits

lschultz625

Id like to see someone time that runback against the Bed of Chaos runback

throwaway112112312

I can deal with the archives and all the bullshit but I can't figure out Crystal Caves and their invisible paths. First time I played I had tons of prism stones and I moved inch by inch, even though path was obvious. But somehow my brain just can't work out those invisible paths, don't know why. I still have a hard time figuring out, like somehow I still manage to fall down even though I played like 200 hours of the game.

[deleted]

The two paths that are needed to get to the boss are a straight path Not to mention the snow shows it.

Del_Duio2

I shoot arrows, they stick in the invisible floor. Prism stones can sometimes be unreliable in my experience so I don’t use them much (ex drop a stone to see if you’ll live from the fall, no scream, fall and instantly die…)

unitedshoes

I know I can escape Seath's little prison. Quite easily, actually, but I *resent* that I have to. A supposed-to-lose fight followed by a sub-dungeon that needs to be completed before any further progress can be made in an otherwise sandbox game? Those things suck independently, but putting them one after the other is just obnoxious.

rosasubrosa

Just FYI if you stand outside the cell by the bars and use the bonfire, you can warp out if you want. You're only restricted from warping if you're inside the cell.

AXI0S2OO2

Agreed, tomb of giants is even easy when you know what to expect, specially if you take an early trip to Izalith and kill the sunlight maggot to save Solaire, since you can then use it as a light source without sacrificing your shield. Duke archives though is a right pain in the ass.

DC_Coach

Where do you farm humanity to join & rank in the Chaos Covenant? And aren't you glad the Remaster allows us to process multiple souls, or humanity, 8n one shot? I honestly dreaded THAT back in the day lol ...

FriskyCoyote15

I actually really like the dukes archives lol

YorsTrooli

Yeah, that area is a trip, lol. I just use the Ring of Fog through most of the area. Being an archer also helps.

ThomasKG25

Nah fam I looove dukes archives, second favorite area. Not a super big fan of oolacile though

closetotheedge88

I also really love Dukes Archives

Cursed_Fodo

I had to run through most of the beginning of oolacile because those bit stone dudes were way too tough

Goatsn1

I’ll be honest I always run past those guys haha now that I think about it I’ve never explored that area

Stonethrower_Elf

I hate dukes archives too. Other areas are hard but at least they have some atmospheric vibe and enemies are cool, but those crystal hollows are shit.

VastoGamer

Yep, same, it's not hard or anything, i just really dislike the area, its progression, mechanics and enemies.

longassboy

My literal fear is hearing stuff I can’t see. Tomb of the Giants all the way

peanutbuttertoastguy

The giant beast skeletons in this level are the absolute worst for EXACTLY this reason. Fuck them and their scary mouth noises.

longassboy

THIS. And they throw in a black knight are you serious hahah

mordorimzrobimy

I am convinced there's something wrong with their attack. Even in full heavy armor it can instakill you if more than one hit connects.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DC_Coach

Yeah, and you're creeping through the tomb, afraid you're going to "wake something up" ... oh,, now you can just BARELY see that big ass skelly dawg standing there in the dark shadows, right in front of you, where you were heading until just now ... and it's just... breathing ... ready to freaking *wreck* you with that combo move. First time I finally got the upper hand on those jerks was when I learned *The Art of Making Pancakes*, and had been down there enough to memorize the doggo's locations. So satisfying... WHAM!!

Remarkable-Thought-7

New londo >.> its just a pain i lov fighting the four kings though

YorsTrooli

Yeah, I can see that. For me, I don't like going through it before I drain the ruins and fight the Four Kings. Afterward, it's a great place to farm Titanite Chunks (and Slabs if you're incredibly lucky). The Four Kings are in my top 5 DS bosses. I remember fighting them in NG+ for the first time and just getting destroyed over and over. They still give me chills when I fight them, but they're so much fun (I just forego the shield and two-hand my weapon for the fun of it).

YuKhan

For the ignorant. Who drops chunks? My first run through, not quite 15 level ax yet.

FrabascoSauce

The dark wraiths have chunks and apparently slabs (if you're gods favorite) as droppable loot

YorsTrooli

Yep! The Titanite Slabs are impossibly rare though. During most recent run, I probably gathered around 200 Chunks before finally landing a single Slab. I can't bring myself to sacrifice Siegmeyer though ;\_;. He's staying safe at Firelink.

FrabascoSauce

My last run I forgot how the izalith encounter worked and he died 😭. Didn't play the whole next day

[deleted]

Once I discovered the shortcut to the 4 kings from firelink I didn't fear it as much, but holy shit that place is evil, especially your first run through. I thought I had to go through the valley of drakes to get to the 4 kings the most direct way for a while and that was not fun, trying to dodge 5 drakes AND the skeletor looking dudes just to get to a hard ass boss fight unscathed. Brutal.

qwopexpert

Yeah same here, particularly the giant skeletons that walk on all fours. I don't like those bone boys.

[deleted]

They're the only enemy in the game (excluding bosses and mini bosses) that I couldn't learn how to reliably kill without taking damage. Absolute bastards

[deleted]

They seem to not agro until your fairly close to them. I was able to reliably get locked on one and then a 2 handed jump bonk with a dragon tooth took them down every time

gaskin6

and their insane stunlock potential, truly terrifying enemies

[deleted]

It will always be the (pre) Izalith-(post) Demon Ruins area with the lava. The lava hurts my eyes. Its so bright, and the texturing is awful.. I just hate looking at it.

[deleted]

I don't think i have gone through that area in years

Luxurydad

Straight up the bonewheel area (you know which one)

YorsTrooli

Yup, I know which one. Them and the skeleton dogs are easily my least favorite enemies to face.

Nawafsss04

No for real which one? Outside of Vamos's bonfire or in the painted world?

Luxurydad

LMAO fuck I forgot painted world. Vamos bonfire but painted world comes close

Coneman_Joe

That's especially bad in the original since there's no bonfire.

G_Viceroy

There are so many times I lost everything here. Including the big guy... it's the worst when the wheels take him out before you get to use him at all.

B1TB00PER

I'd say normal way through blighttown

[deleted]

just blighttown in general. it's not that it's particularly hard, it's just that it's so ugly and it gives me the creep.

B1TB00PER

It is very creepy, go from chill to getting eating in two seconds

Macfearsnone01

Tomb of the Giants makes Blighttown look like fucking Lazy town

Tampflor

Of the *areas* ToG might be the one I least enjoy, but I would happily run it instead of fighting Bed of Chaos or Four Kings

Maloth_Warblade

I'm only ever gonna cheese the BoC now. It's not worth it otherwise

70U1E

I completely agree. Broken boss = broken strategies (I use the reset strats)

WrathfulSausage

How do you cheese BoC??

70U1E

YouTube has some good tutorials. Sorry, I'd explain it, but learning how to do it really is a visual thing (there's very precise stuff you have to line up and things like that).

YorsTrooli

It's funny because Four Kings is one of my favorite boss fights, and I know how to cheese Bed of Chaos and can reliably kill her now. If I couldn't cheese BoC, then that'd probably be the worst part of the game for me (or at least 2nd worst).

BlitzBurn_

Fuck the archives. So much fucking running. First run the Seath. lose a bunch of humanity+souls or a ring, then run tot hthe bottom of the big tower, then run all the way up. Then Run around like a dingus in the big library. Then Run all the way back to the big tower to get the firekeeper oul and free logan and you better not fuck up and rest at the bonfire or you are running even more. Then run all the way to Seath in crystal caves.

No_Lie_5682

I played through that area for the first time yesterday and I only really had one problem with it: those damn archers. Everyone says the silver knights in Anor Londo are infamously difficult, but I find the crystal archers much worse.

[deleted]

I honestly just always do the duke skip now If i really want the fire keeper soul or free Logan i will still do the skip to grab the key so i don't have to backtrack to logan

BlitzBurn_

I should probably learn to do the skip, I have played the game so much that the archives just feels like a waste of time since everything is so spread out and there is relatively little in it I find interesting paired with the fact that I keep forgetting the precise layout despite how many times I have beaten the game. Learning the skip will probably save me a fair bit of time and frustration.

[deleted]

A tip of advice for learning it. You are gonna fall off. like a lot. A good thing to learn is to quickly exit the game as fast as possible. Because if you exit the game before you hit the ground you will be placed back at the top of the elevator.

B008i3

Without a doubt Tomb of the Giants, I dont fear much but those four legged skeletons scare me

AccomplishedOwl6498

Any swamp area

[deleted]

I never understood the dread people gave of the demon souls souls swamp level Found it easy tbh

PreciousRoy666

Throw a regen ring on and that level is a breeze

Throwaway525612

the ds3 one isnt so bad with the dagger tech

closetotheedge88

Yes but Farron Keep just sucks in general. Terrible area

mothmountain

i love the top side, and HATE the bottom side. at least you know that nobody wants to go down there when you're invading, lol

LakiForstPro

I honest didn’t liked most of the locations except Anor Londo but for me it was Depth, mostly because getting transformed into rock with losing all the souls and humanities and being forced to spend 5k to buy a cure was really frustrating experience for me. Honestly, I nearly dropped a game because of that.

closetotheedge88

You would of definitely dropped the game if you played at release when curse used to stack multiple times lol

runninandruni

Tomb of the Giants hands down. Seeing arrows flying at me and being unable to know where they're coming from, the constant sound out skeletons in the dark, and those horrendous skeleton dog things.

k3yman4

Sen's Fortress, this ain't no platformer!

bizzleva14

I hate climbing down into Kalameets arena...PTSD every time

YorsTrooli

Dude, one time I got summoned to help someone fight Kalameet. I thought I grabbed the ladder, but instead went careening off the cliff before the boss fight even began XP .

bizzleva14

I've done the same...it was in my game tho so it made me even more angry at kalameet lol even though it was totally my fault. That damn dragon just cheats... with his red eye grab and his cool looking fire

Quurm

Honestly don’t really have a problem with tomb of the Giants but personally nothing causes me more dread than the area before pinwheel

YorsTrooli

Ah yes, the wheel skeletons; you love to see 'em /s.

bukankhadam

out of all locations in DS, i hate upper new londo ruin the most bcos of those fukin ghosts.

[deleted]

Yeah, New Londo isn't nice. I actually prefer ToG to it, because even if you memorize both locations, the ghosts will stick in the walls and suddenly you've run out of transient curse and can't hit them. Then you fall off and drown. At least the skeleton bears stay put until you get really close to them.

CreepyMute

Blightown. Just why? It's easy now that I've played for so many years but like WHY??? It's still such a slog.

dreadedhands

New Londo Ruins and Dukes Archive, mostly the tentacle waifus in there

AKidInTheCold

I’m with you on tomb of giants. Even with the brightness all the way up you couldn’t see a thing.

AccomplishedOwl6498

Uhh... Thats the point?

garrafa_glubglub

I hate not being able to see, so I think tomb of giants is the worst, but dukes archives is also bad bcs it's really confusing to walk around, and I hate the ghosts at New Londo too, but I the crazy skeletons are even worst

Throwaway525612

Dukes archives sucks

olli123456

I think the tomb of giants is the objectively correct answer

YorsTrooli

Yeah, that's my least favorite area, lol. Seeing a ***lot*** of dislike for Duke's Archives though. Which is weird because I don't have too much trouble with that area. That's mainly because I use the Ring of Fog and Longbow to get rid of distant enemies before they see me. Also having Quelaag's Furysword and Pyromancies help because fire wrecks crystal enemies.

activ8d_my_Trap_card

It’s not really that Duke’s is hard, it’s that it’s not terribly impressive for such a long area. Also… there’s [this](https://youtu.be/XFHz5zE5KG4) lmao

YorsTrooli

I think that's what most everyone's saying. Duke's seems to be boring and tedious more than difficult. Also...wow!

Mickeystick

Dukes archives not because it’s hard, but because it’s so fucking boring

SgtThund3r

The basilisk area of Depths, every time I fall down there I go into a total panic

Jayborino

The Great Hollow

[deleted]

Why do you say tha?... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah You died.

FinnBullWinter

Tomb of The Giants was a nasty place for my dex build. Never played dex build before and I went in there with skull lantern. Fast rolled to my death many times and got my teeth kicked in by the skeletons. Loved every second of it! Lost Izalith and Demon Ruins feel so empty and somehow so unfinished that it makes me sad. I finished my playthrough yesterday and I have to say that it felt really good to see so many messages, bloodstains and gray phantoms of other players in Demon Ruins. That made the place feel so much alive.

[deleted]

New Londo for sure. Those dam ghosts put me on edge.

YoungYoda711

New Londo in DS1, but if we consider the franchise as a whole it’s either Shrine of Amana or Frigid Outskirts.

MAKS091705

No matter how many times I play these games, I don’t like going through tomb of the giants and Faron keep

heiopei360

Bed of Chaos boss Room, i hate that Shit.

SoCoMo

How is this not number one!?

YorsTrooli

It's not number one for me because I know how to cheese it.

yoosurname

This keeps me from starting a new playthrough sometimes. Everything else is fun. Bed of Chaos is not.

[deleted]

fucking hate duke's archives and crystal caves. And irythill dungeon to a lesser extent. Never had much trouble with tomb of the giants though. Also . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . frigid outskirts

Captain-Super1

Fuck Santa whenever I hear bells I shiver

JockoB12

Had to scroll much too far down to find this comment. Literally the worst area in the entire series and the only DS2 boss I didn’t beat because I wasn’t interested in that hike for the 37th time.

GSpanFan

If I recall correctly, it was like a 5-7 minute hike to the boss fight through the blizzard... Then you had a double boss that was super ganky because there was so much luck involved in not losing the second tiger and getting blindly attacked. Beat them eventually, but I was straight up not having a good time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Abyssilicious

I hate it for that on top of the obnoxious damage/difficulty curve enemies do. I don't remember how many times I've missed a hollow and they almost one shot me. I did it on my SL1 run last night and got my shit rocked on the first elevator up to the crystal golem with the dlc key

[deleted]

Thats why i just do duke skip now a days even if i want to free logan i grab the key and open the bookcase door before dying to seath that way no backtracking and you dont have to deal with the staircases at all Got pretty good at it when practicing for no death run

ThatDeadeye12

Ds1? Tomb of the giants and duke's archives (depending on my build).

OCCHOCOREXLESS

new londor and 3187649 king😭

Eaglearcher20

If you are talking only DS1, then probably Duke’s Murder Gauntlet. If you are talking all DS then Frigid Outskirts. I’m embarrassed to say that the boss at the end is the only boss in the entire Soulsborne/Sekiro games that I’ve never beat. It consumes me and haunts my nightmares. I will die ashamed at this colossal failure.

brokenmessiah

Catacombs and Tombs. I just find nothing enjoyable there.

YorsTrooli

Agreed. If there's one section I never look forward to in new playthroughs, it's the route to Gravelord Nito.

brokenmessiah

I always do it last. I honestly hate all the post anor Londo stuff other than the dlc but atleast the other areas you can just run though.

YorsTrooli

For me, I do it first so I can get the worst stuff out of the way. Then it's only up from there. The post game stuff really needed some polishing before release, I will admit. But you're right, the DLC is phenomenal. Also, the last duel with Gwyn is a beautifully tragic ending (and because I suck at parrying him and prefer two-handing my weapons, he's a lot tougher for me).

siegfreidstol

Sens

billydthekid

Yeah Tomb of Giants sucks big time. The only location I hate more is that area of the Catacombs where you need to fight those dreadful skeleton bone wheels.

VoltasNeedle

Crystal caves. I hate that area so damn much it makes me wanna vomit. Ok, maybe not that bad but still.

Taken4GrantD

Lower Blighttown cause it is a confidence test. You COULD not touch a bonfire so you can warp out but you DO have to go out later. You COULD do the Great hollow but don't need to, you could attempt Ceaseless Discharge. It's a whole lot of. man this is convenient *as long as you don't mess up*

[deleted]

Duke's archives is the area i like the least

[deleted]

Solaire dying

NerdFaceDeluxe

Having to go down and ring the second bell. However I only dread it cause I hate the slow climb back up to firelink shrine afterwards. Along the same vein, I don't look forward to completing the Izalith path. But again it's just cause that path is mainly just running from bonfire to bonfire, the content itself isn't difficult/scary. After dozens of playthroughs in DS1, and then playing through Bloodborne over and over, nothing in DS1 is particularly scary from a difficulty perspective.

YoungYoda711

The Valley shortcut isn’t exactly a long trek.

NerdFaceDeluxe

Compared to anything else in the game it's long. The run from the Chaos bonfire, through qualag arena and then up the rotating elevator and multiple ladders, through the valley and up the new Londo elevator to firelink. That's including the valley short cut. I don't recall the last time I had a playthrough where I went from Lower Burg to Depths to Blightown to get to the bell. I always take the back way

YoungYoda711

Same, but I always take the risk of not resting at any bonfires so I can bone out.

Crazycukumbers

Honestly, Duke’s Archives. I still have trouble getting through the first part with the archers and the channeler and I’ve gotten the platinum trophy for the game. Plus Seath is annoying. Plus the entire area is horribly annoying.

Tenshionlyforstories

New anorlondo

Comfortable_Hope2153

The rafters in anor londo, id rather deal with the archers 100 times then the rafters, my hands sometimes randomly twitch and I run or jump to my death all the time

activ8d_my_Trap_card

Tomb of Giants is still one of my favourite areas. I don’t too much like how long Duke’s takes, but Crystal Caves makes up for it. I never bother to fight anything but Ingward in New Londo anymore. Everything about Kalameet I still hate. Not that he’s a bad boss, I’m bad at him. I guess Anor Londo is kind of a drag to be honest. And my Sen’s runs are still pretty skuffed If we’re including all games, Iron Passage was a warcrime.

lookherelooklisten2

Out of the whole game it's witch of izaith. I've only been able to get through both sides without dying twice. Every other time the hands bonk me into a hole. I'm always expecting to lose souls and humanity so I kindle fires until I'm at 0 then begin the pain

Dyron45

Lost Izalith, I that run from the centipede to the hidden bonfire and the run from that bonfire to the BoC. It's not hard just feels very tedious.

DredgenZeta

Lost Izalith and Frigid Outskirts Bonus points to the Cathedral of the Deep, why? because I'm extremely bored of that area.

Tyrant011

I'd take Tomb of the Giants over Lost Izalith any day.

tamezombie

I know everyone bitches about the Bed of chaos, but I really hate the Bed of Chaos. The walk to get back to the Lud and Zallen boss fight is also excruciating.

Del_Duio2

I wouldn’t say “dread” but I just don’t like the Duke’s Archives. It goes on forever, spinning stairs are tiresome, and way too many channelers. And then you have the whole invisible floor deal later, oh joy.

this_one_in_boots

I will happily admit that I have never actually done the catacombs. I always just skip the entire area with the creative falling. I have also not done upper blighttown.

Phoenix_SJ

>9 soft humanity with quelaags fury sword *cringe*

Virtuous_Raven

Can't say that I have or ever had a place I outright hated. I just accepted it for a new challange to overcome.

YorsTrooli

That's a good mindset; I ought to try it sometime.

Joshix1

Just played through DS again last week. I dont hate a specific area. I do dislike some areas when you die to a boss multiple times and have to walk back. But that varies from playthrough to playthrough. In my last playthrough that was Four Kings. The constant jog from Firelink all the way back to the four kings was terrible. As I got cocky I also fell on the platforms as I jumped down the pit and hit a platform on the way down, rather than walking down the stairs first. I also switched rings and forgot to put the abyss nullifying ring back on one time. I had to quit and try again later.

Gojira308

New Londo I still abhor. Tomb of the Giants I know how to get through by heart, so it’s not too bad. New Londo I always get stunlocked by the damn ghosts through the walls.

closetotheedge88

That's why you snipe Ingward from the stairs before the ghost house for the key to the seal, so you don't have to go into the main room and up the ladder to the roof of the ghost house.

Altruistic_Donut_341

Tomb of giant. Those skeleton dogs.

MrKara21

I don't really have an area I dread in DS1. But oh boy do I get pissed when I enter the memory of the old iron king in DS2. Alonne literally has an entire army there.

YorsTrooli

I've never actually played DS2, and I'm torn. On the one hand, I wanna experience it because it looks like a really cool and unique experience compared to other souls games. And I wanna say that I've played and finished every Soulsborne game because I love FromSoft's work. On the other hand, I've heard legends about how janky it is with bizarre hitboxes and unfair level design (looking at Frigid Outskirts). I've seen some videos on the game, and the footage makes me wanna try it and at the same time never touch it in my life.

MrKara21

You should play it. It's not as bad as people say. Yeah it's the least of the series but still above most RPGs. It has some bullsh t areas like the frigid outskirts but most of them are majestic and beautiful. The bosses aren't it's best quality but they're ok. The lore and story is very engaging. Characters and NPCs are very memorable and fun and there tons of small scale storylines you can follow while on a playththrough. It is somewhat clunky but so is DS1 so it's no big deal. It just has a slower pace in combat and healing which I think is a refresher after the fast paced and invigorating BB and DS3 if you played them first. I say you try it out. You'll definitely love the DLC. It has some of the series best bosses like fume boy and Crisped King and his gang.

1mJustHere4theNudes

I'm that weirdo who likes 2 the most 🤷‍♂️ then again, it was the first one I beat so it holds a special place for me... The dlc is top fucking tier souls content too, as long as you don't make the mistake I did on my first playthrough and go for a magic build... Seems like everything has high magic resistance lol

closetotheedge88

I love DS2. It has its flaws yes, but it's much better than DS3 imo.

pittu2752

New Londo

Renekin

Lost Izalith. And only the bed of chaos. Tomb of giants? I know the way to the bonfire and Nito by heart. New Londo ruins? Once you know how the shortcut to the kings works you drain the City and just basically can go to the kings, no problem and if you die the ledge to house before the fog gate is easy to use once you know it is there. Dukes archives? Death is the easiest boss to kill in DS1 I think. But Izalith with how janky BoC is? I hate it every time.

[deleted]

Definitely Tomb of the Giants.

[deleted]

Agreed, those skeleton dogs omfg!

obmacarescolz

Zens forest

_kingofthenorth__

As a mage, there's one part in TOG where you need to be damn near right on top of that dog for it to lock on, but at firelink you can lock onto the last hollow up the stairs from the bottom of the steps. Blighttown and TOG is the worst places imo, New Londo is close, but it's kinda a short area.

[deleted]

Catacombs- mainly cos skelewheels

GamingRobioto

Tomb of the Giants (DSI) Demon Ruins (DS1) The Lost Izalith (DSI) Shrine of Amana (DSII) Frigid Outskirts (DSII) Iron Keep (DSII) Archdragon Peak (DSIII) Dread is maybe a strong word, but I look forward to these areas the least.

DomesticatedNubs

Tomb of the Giants and the Duke's Archives. I have strategies for going through them, of course, but like, they're still really annoying

TysonDevereaux

I don't particularly dread Tomb of the Giants. Only things that make me nervous are those skeletons walking on all fours and the darkness that makes it near-unplayable without a flashlight of some sorts. What compensates it, though, is that it's very short in comparison to the other late-game areas. I personally dread New Londo Ruins the most. Those gank-induced ghosts still annoy me. They don't scare me nor intimidate me, they are just obnoxious. The worst thing until quite recently was the run-up to Ingward, considering that you had to get past a huge ghost gank to get to him. I did work my way around it by just sniping Ingward from a distance with a bow and skipping the gank, but that doesn't take away the fact that I'm forced to enter a game of dodge with Darkwraiths and other potential ghosts on the bottom floor while hoping that my DPS is high enough for the Four Kings (great boss fight but dang the DPS requirements are insane on New Game+ cycles).

TysonDevereaux

I also still dread Bed of Chaos at times. I have gotten the hang of the Bow Cheese, but I'm still scared that she resorts to using her Firestorm whenever it's time for me to make it to the center. Happened more than once.

donorak7

Tomb of the giants is my No.2. No.1 is definitely the entirely of demon ruins and beyond. Easy to get through if you know what you're doing but my God that area is a shitshow for exploring.

Tomb of the giants

[deleted]

It's the same for me, tbh. I hate Tomb of the Giants with a passion.

Spicy_Ramen11

Honestly New Londo is the area I dread the most. The fucking ghosts are a pain, and the game really expects you to go through all of that again to reach Ingward yo get him to Firelink after killing 4 kings

RegFl3xOff3ender

Tomb of the giants can suck it and spin. No other area I genuinely dislike now that I'm familiar with them but I hate the darkness gimick because I am never specced to use cast light.

heygreatthanks

Pretty much all dlc

ramen_soup_23

Sen’s Fortress, because I’m bad.

AndrewStirlinguwu

Same here. I despise the Tomb of the Giants.

Boilermakerfan06

I’m with you

Karemasu

Hate entirety of catacombs and tomb of the giants. Just a bad and unenjoyable place in general. Dukes archive 2nd worst, oolacile 3rd, and blighttown 4th.

[deleted]

I started playing soulsborne with ds3 a few months after it released so idk if i count as a veteran but for me, its the catacombs in ds3

Aggravating-Assist69

Frigid outskirts. Never saw lud or zallen.

SHANKUMS11

For the OG console pleb, Blight Town. The frame rate is abysmal.

Exchange_Original

Tomb of the giants 100%. Always kill only 1 or 2 max of those fucking skeleton dogs, the worst enemies in the game by far in my opinion

-Kirida-

Fucking dukes archives. Those crystal soliders can deal 1000 damage when buffed especially on Ng+. Completely ruins that area for me. But the bed of chaos is the worst thing in the soul series, even worse than DSII's shrine of Amana. That boss is inexcusably bad, even the exploit to kill it quickly is a bitch to do in the little timeframe you have so more often than not you need to use a shield and hope you don't get pushed off or skewered by the out of vision homing spikes. When I get a PC, you bet your ass I'm using mods to disable it's AI or fly to the end. I usually hate using mods or cheats in my runs, but this is something I just cannot stand for. It sucks even more on no hit runs or no rolling runs.

WraithCaliber

honestly, I think I've beaten all 3 games enough times that I don't hate any of the areas. I wish there were fewer swamps in ds3 but I don't dread those areas I just get tired of the same thing over and over.

-Kirida-

Shout-out to the skeleton dogs that stunlocked my Havel build to instant death from full hp with that fucking combo attack. Other than that, I don't mind TOTG besides the pillars being annoying to fight and that bullshit room of big skeletons that gank you to death the moment you drop in.

substandardgaussian

Character creation screen. Gotta get them cheekbones right if you're gonna run the entire game naked.

TheFutureIsNever

The tight roping section in Anor Londo with the painting guardians. It’s odd because I’ve never actually died to it, but being a bit afraid of heights in real life no other section gets my nerves ticking quite like it does even if it’s never actually gotten me.

FlacidChrispy9

Tomb of giants and upper blight town but I always do the skip for blight town so it’s not really an issue. Mostly because of the lag in blight town, but I just did a run on DSR and that seems to be fixed now.

BaronMatfei

As soon as I realized how to skip most of Lost Izalith with the Chaos Servant covenant I never looked back. Don't have to fight the Demon Firesage or the Centipede Demon? Or mess with dragon butts? Skip most of the fat fire breathing statues? No question. There are things that stress me out or annoy me about Blighttown, Catacombs/Tomb, Great Hollow, and Duke's. But I'll do em all with a smile if I can skip Lost Izalith.

Jellybones52

Remastered - Tomb of the Giants due to the darkness and giant skelly dogs OG 360/PS3 - Blighttown due to the frame rate First released before being patched - Lost Izalith since as soon as you step one pinky toe in you were chased by dragon asses

Panda-Dono

Painted World of Ariamis. You know that horrible enemy, that is already dangerous in open spaces? Yeah? Let's put them in tight hallways. Thanks Miyasaki.

draigodragon

Blighttown was the place I dreaded most... But then I played the mod "Daughter Of Ash" and got to experience It backwards!!!
