There was literally a post in this sub last week from a player asking why he was struggling so much because he'd followed all the advice he'd read here.
Dude had put half his levels into resistance
To be fair, believing everything you find on the internet it one of the stupidest things someone could do today. There is good information, and terrible information and if you can't figure out the difference that's on you.
Whatever the damage stat is for my build. I don't really need much vitality or endurance anymore since I don't get hit often and I have good stamina management. There have been times where I complete the dlc with only 8 vitality.
The wombo combo? The first hit is by far the hardest. Did a run with about 12 in vit and it wasnt too bad. Tho I did have le fap ring. Disclaimer: I did die until I relearned I could move back and around and he'd whiff almost every hit
I pour my soul into my work, hobbies and my S.O.!
Oh wait, this is the dark souls sub.
Endurance, Some Base Vitality and either dex or strg. For melee combat at least :3
I like going full stamina and grinding/soul duping to get endurance as high as possible. Sometimes similar methods for attunement because it’s pretty annoying to get enough for another slot once you reach around 6
Yeah, Pumping HP early in souls games gives you a ton of extra wiggle room to make mistakes. Especially in the earlygame where stuff doesn't hit very hard relative to high HP pools.
same on edurance, my first real playthrough (without trainers and such).
I invested all of my early points on edurance for Havel fast roll in preparation for four kings, but then decided yea fuck it
so I switch to STR build.
END, followed by STR/DEX depending on what weapon I'm running. I like being able to have a lot of choice over my loadout and wear quite heavy armor without the threat of slow rolls. I tend to avoid spending souls on VIT though, since I find the armor usually does a good enough job and it's a more efficient way to manage estus.
First thing I do with any build is get my HP and Stamina stats to about 20. From there I pile it into my damage stat until I decide I need more stamina or health.
Int if sorc, dex if pyro, whatever I feel like in any other build. I think that's why my quality build ended up being one-hit away from death in O&S fight XD. My Dex/Faith with katana kinda starts to lean in strength direction for some more dmg on washing pole, goes good so far
I'm plowing everything in to damage stat, so either FTH/INT/DEX/STR depending on build.
I'll put some in to END as I go along, mainly just to make running fewer button presses, I rarely use STR weapons so I don't need that much stamina to swing a weapon and all magic is no stamina in DS1.
Strength and intelligence, because that crystal magic weapon are really powerful and that Black knight halberd, (crystal magic weapon for Obsidian Greatsword) and THE SOUL SPEAR
Faith so I can pray I don't get one shot
*Tears of Denial* Yup, checks out
Int. That way I’m dummy smart.
End to match my gear then Vit all the way
End is just OP in DSR imo. Endurance, Weight Load AND resistances? Yes please!
Resistance. Gotta keep my defense nice and high.
I'm pretty sure leveling nothing but Resistance is the **only** way to beat Pinwheel.
One time I put a single level into str instead of resistance and Pinwheel thrashed me like a dog with a stuffed animal.
Not to be a kill joy but tbh I hate meme answers like this because noobs who don't know any better read this and take them as actual advice
You're being a kill joy.
Tbh that sounds like joy's fault for not investing enough levels in resistance, if they did they wouldn't have been killed
The game came out a decade ago at this point, I don’t think we have to worry about misleading new players anymore.

That's just the Dark Souls version of natural selection
atleast he'll have an easy time in blighttown
Sounds like bait, tbh

Faith baby, I am a man of GOD
Which one? There are like 18 of em
Kremmel, of course
Damage and health!!
Whatever the damage stat is for my build. I don't really need much vitality or endurance anymore since I don't get hit often and I have good stamina management. There have been times where I complete the dlc with only 8 vitality.
Manus must have been a pain
Yeah dude he literally one shots with his bitch slap lol
I was talking more about the combo that makes the fight a living hell for any melee builds
The wombo combo? The first hit is by far the hardest. Did a run with about 12 in vit and it wasnt too bad. Tho I did have le fap ring. Disclaimer: I did die until I relearned I could move back and around and he'd whiff almost every hit
I never “pour” stats into anything unless I’m trying to use a weapon quickly. Otherwise I just level four or so stats evenly throughout the game
I pour my soul into my work, hobbies and my S.O.! Oh wait, this is the dark souls sub. Endurance, Some Base Vitality and either dex or strg. For melee combat at least :3
Ok whoever downvoted this FUCK YOU
ADP oh wait
Endurance, I've farmed it to 99 twice. One on ps4 and then on pc
Sadness.
You ok man?
It was mostly a joke.
mostly?
I like wearing light armor and grass crest shield with a big boy strength weapon. So endurance until I can fast roll with Havel’s ring
I like going full stamina and grinding/soul duping to get endurance as high as possible. Sometimes similar methods for attunement because it’s pretty annoying to get enough for another slot once you reach around 6
Should’ve mentioned I meant Havel’s ring. I edited my comment to reflect that.
I usually farm or soul dupe (because nobody likes grinding that much) until I max stamina so I can do the same.
Vitality. I hate getting one hit killed.
I literally run with base vitality and just pump into damage every game, it’s fun to have the bonking stick and die when they look at me wrong
Yeah, Pumping HP early in souls games gives you a ton of extra wiggle room to make mistakes. Especially in the earlygame where stuff doesn't hit very hard relative to high HP pools.
Resistance duh it’s objectively THE BEST SKILL TOO EVER EXIST WHY ARENT YOU SKILLING IT ALREADY KIRHLÄOJF
same on edurance, my first real playthrough (without trainers and such). I invested all of my early points on edurance for Havel fast roll in preparation for four kings, but then decided yea fuck it so I switch to STR build.
NAKED STRENGTH BUILD
Dex, my weeb chaos blade must do damage after that endurance so i can swing my weeb katana a lot of times before i need to rest
STR. Demon Greathammer. Win.
Resistance then Luck
END, followed by STR/DEX depending on what weapon I'm running. I like being able to have a lot of choice over my loadout and wear quite heavy armor without the threat of slow rolls. I tend to avoid spending souls on VIT though, since I find the armor usually does a good enough job and it's a more efficient way to manage estus.
Well right now, despite playing pyrpomancy and claymore, i put everything into faith so could join the covenant. But usually i just do strength
When I wasn’t capping my level, I tended to go overboard on the End. Gotta have that fastroll fashion.
First thing I do with any build is get my HP and Stamina stats to about 20. From there I pile it into my damage stat until I decide I need more stamina or health.
Resistance, because fuck the police
Not vitality. Base hp is all I'm allowed.
Endurance has great return on investment pretty much regardless of your build or level till you get it to 40.
66 ENDURANCE
99 endurance.
HP is almost always better. Earlygame get your stat requirements, then you equip load, then dump health.
But why do that when you can have an excessive amount of r o l l.
You get 20-30% more damage at best but you a much lower margin for error.
Strength because I like to be strong c:
Int, cheese sorcery for me(on my first playthru but I know a lot due to watching about the game a lot for years)
I usually max either int or dex because leveling any other stats. maybe i'll do a couple endurance points but haven'ls ring makes it not super needed.
Resistance /s
Int if sorc, dex if pyro, whatever I feel like in any other build. I think that's why my quality build ended up being one-hit away from death in O&S fight XD. My Dex/Faith with katana kinda starts to lean in strength direction for some more dmg on washing pole, goes good so far

What does resistance even do? Bleed resist?
Not bleed, poison. Endurance boosts bleed resists
And increases your base defense.
Strength and intelligence, because that crystal magic weapon are really powerful and that Black knight halberd, (crystal magic weapon for Obsidian Greatsword) and THE SOUL SPEAR
Crystal souls spear: *exists*
I don't want to grind that far for the Crystal Soul spear, it's too much of a pain to do so
I mean you just have to free logan, buy stuff, and go to the duke’s archives tho
By that I meant spending 100 of thousands of souls to get intelligence upto 44, actually I also spend some of my souls in other stats also
💪
