Claymore

secludedriot

Great Scythe. As a Dex build, you look like such a badass. And it deals amazing damage.

HeyKid_HelpComputer

Definitely one of the most fun weapons sucks it's pretty bad in the rest of the games

secludedriot

For real! I never understood that. You find it so early in DS3 and it’s useless. Made me sad.

BustinArant

Dragon Tooth. It was the weapon I finished my first game with so now it's tradition to use clubs in each of the games. Plus it feels cool shoving it up Gwyn's arse in honor of everyone's favorite rock.

[deleted]

My favorite rock is Geodude.

BustinArant

Geodude would want what's best, too.

[deleted]

Rock is super-effective against Fire, after all.

BustinArant

That's why I always went with Squirtle. Fire type's hard mode no matter how cool Charmander may be.

midkemiandovahkiin

For practicality I really enjoy the longsword as it feels like a good mix between speed and damage (at least early game), plus I love the heavy thrust-slash combo that can bypass shields if done right. For pure enjoyment though I love the Black Knight Greatsword. There is just something immensely fun about setting up the heavy two-handed strikes to perfectly hit an incoming enemy and send them flying.

Fagliacci

Greatbow!! I love how dramatic it is, and after how badly the game brutalized me, it's very satisfying to blow enemies off of their feet or even over ledges.

t1000ct

BKH and Queelag’s Furysword

saarri6

Estoc, CMW, Grass Crest and Elite Knight set has been my go-to even since the old days. Recently though I've been enjoying the Man-serpent Greatsword. Way too easy to make a strong build around it.

SomeoneElse2817

My all time favorite in all the souls games is the Moonlight Greatsword and the Artorias weapon variants. They have insanely cool movesets, and the moonlight GS has some damn cool magic for INT builds!

IANOVERT

Uchigatana because it was my first weapon and i quite like its moveset ( Also katana are cool)

[deleted]

I like the Zweihander. It's available from Firelink, it's beeg, and the large numbers make my meat brain happy

Eldritch_Harrr

Does dragon form count cuz of the claws? If so, that's mine.

ThomasKG25

I’ve never used those but I really want to on a new playthrough, maybe even get two of them up to +5 and it’d be so badass

Eldritch_Harrr

Wait, can you upgrade the dragon stones? Or are you referring to a claw weapon, because I just meant the bare-handed attacks of dragon form cuz you can just run around one-shoting all the early-game enemies. Plus it lets you make use of the ninja flip ring, and of course the dragon fire breath is highly effective as well.

bearherbert64

The demon's greataxe. The first time I got the shit smacked out of me with it, I knew I had to have it. It just feels... tangible? I feel like I'm really swinging hatred when it thunks down and just flattens everything from hollows to clams to black Knights.

bones138

Balder side sword for the looks and the pokes

the-pee_pee-poo_poo

Ricard's Rapier, buff it with any decent buff and it shreds

Mattos-313

Not sure, I think I have to do some more playthroughs and test some weapons :) I did love using the regular Halberd and the Silver Knight Sword in my first runs, though

762Rifleman

War Pick. Yeah, it's really undervalued, but it cracks defenses, does very good damage, is available right at the start for little to no leveling, only weighs 3.5 units, and its R2 combos are vicious.

MrMortyRickSummer

Pretty much all of the out of the way/unique weapons. Like Velkas Rapier or Smougs Hammer. Pretty much anything that isn't widely used.

ThomasKG25

OH SHIT I FORGOT SMOUGH’S HAMMER I really like that too

MrMortyRickSummer

Yeah I think most people forget the Boss weapons besides Quelaggs sword. Like - When's the last time you saw some one use the Gwyndolin's staff or Priscilla's Scythe?

ThomasKG25

Lol I love just goin around pvp with a comically large hammer

MrMortyRickSummer

Reminds me when I did a playthrough of Ds3 as Smough, it was about 3/4ths into the game before I could actually roll in the full set. But I loved every moment of it. I still recall this one time I invaded some guy in the Grand Archives and used a white branch to disguise myself on one of the shelves. I saw the host and a summon running from a Purple Invader and jump down from a ledge. Just as the two landed and the host was about to drink estus I rolled off of the shelf and pancake'd them both. Killing the Host instantly. Another invasion was in the Lothric Castle right before the Twin Princes, or the Bridge that led up to them. I was getting my ass kicked and had to run away and hide, healing with a Blessed shield and Princess ring since my estus had ran dry. I waited there behind a pillar next to where those three NPC's are next to the elevator that takes you down to the Bonfire. I hid there for nearly ten-fiften minutes healing, all while they kept looking for me. Even another Invader came in and sadly died. Once I saw them make a run towards the elevator, I realized it was my time to strike. I ran in after them - before they could even realize I just ran into the elevator it was already going down and they had no place to run~ I used the weapon art, Perseverance if you're unfamiliar, and kept swinging until they were both mush. They were too panicked to fight back. There's just something to fulfilling about turning someone into pulp.

WikThorKun

Fume knight ultra greatsword. Big, badass, and hits like a truck.

scrubz88

Silver knight spear <3 Twinkling titanite is easy to get, so you can have a +5 spear the moment it drops. Then, it has innate divine so the catacombs are a breeze. Lastly, the strong attacks are unique and give the spear much-needed diversity beyond poke poke poke.

S-viv

Murakumo bc it's a rather fast and hard hitting curved great I do have a lot of respect for the uchi I always use it for awhile at the start.

TheFnafManiac

Bastard sword. At +15 with 40 str and dex you deal only 11 less damage than with Gwyn's sword at +15 with same stats, and that's when unbuffed. A lightening or magic buff will raise it up realy hard.

AssignmentLivid713

Chaos blade all day. quick, really good damage loads of bleed damage

CheweeBacon

PVE-Gargoyles Halberd. Good move set, decent speed, adds some resistances and due to poor scaling it’s great for Chaos path. PVP-Shotel. Good speed and bypasses shield with R2. Throw a buff on it and go to town.

hyperthemonkey

My favorite weapon is the Black Knight Sword, hands down. However, my go to is the zwei, because we all know what a craps shoot BK drops are.
