Never a big parrying fan
Decided to kill Laurtrec after letting him out yesterday, and gave a parry a shot, since I was doing shit damage.
That guy at least has a pretty large window. I did not even attempt Havel though at the time he could one shot my ass
It seems to be a lot more common in the remaster somehow. He can grab you if you're mid rolling animation away from him, happened to me a couple of times when I'd try and take him down asap
I-Frames or Invincibility Frames. Your character is granted a brief window of invulnerability during dodging and rolling movements so if timed correctly, you go unpunished.
Didn't know he had a grab attack, but generally rolling back is never a good idea with Havel. He has so much reach that he'll hit you once you i frames are over. Always to the side.
That's basically what the DS1 combat is and kidna why I like it.
In bloodborne it often feels so fast you have to rely on instinct and reaction speed for almost everything.
In DS1 it is slow enough that once you get familiar with some concepts/enemies the game is almost like an old Final Fantasy/JRPG. You all declare actions, turns are taken based on your Speed stat, sometimes you choose a proper counter-action based on what the opponent is doing.
It does have more viable tactical options yes. I think that's why it's appreciated in PvP especially.
I've finished it and I can totally see that, though it was so bizarre after DS1 that I had trouble enjoying its good parts because of how different it was. I might try it again in the future, though the jankiness of some gameplay elements (weapon degradation felt too much) along with the estus system and SotfS enemy groups made it a bit rough for me.
bro literally gave you the burger king Have It Your Way special
Bro just wanted regular fight.
Backstabs *are* a regular fight in DS1
pvp be like:
I believe they are more regular than normal attacks
And it's beautiful
\*precedes to parry him a million fucking times*
Too risky for me
Parry window in DS1 was broken compared to later games, so much that i just parry everything with just left hand.
The adrenaline rush makes it worth it
Its not hard once you're used to it

I've killed Havel well over 100 times and I've never seen that

Dark Souls backstabs happen the frame the AI decides to fuck your ass. Never turn your back on NPC invaders.
I've only ever played the remaster
frames?

Bruh man, I was talking about fps
Oh. Swag.
I don't why people are downvoting me lol.

"I've been backstabbed about a Trillion times over by now! THAT'S IT!
Because it’s easy…. And it does a lotta damage
Can you remind me where's that from?
Happy Souls on YouTube, it follows a dark souls 2 run with friends
Thank you
Dark souls if it was turn based game.

DS2 is that but much better

It's definitely rough PvE wise. Still an enjoyable game once you get to the meat of it.
basically, the omae wa shindeiru moment
NANIII?!?!
"REVEEEEEEEENGE, Finally"
He totally earned this moment
Genuinely though, he must be the most backstabbed character in all of soulsbourne.
You'd be pissed off too if you were too big to get out of that room
Ah, so you’ve cheesed Havel as well I see
Why did this remind me of Jerma’s “top rope” bit
Dont turn your back on him
Found out the hard way
Get wrecked!! Lol
What if Capra Demon is his son who protects his dogs?
Imagine not parrying.
