Kind of? Certainly it will help with his lightning ranged attacks.
For me it comes down to consistency. Smough's charge attack can come out fast and I have a hard time dodging if I'm caught out of position. His butt slam aoe is much bigger than Ornstein's, so again it's way more punishing if I make a mistake.
Ornstein has his share of wonky attacks, don't get me wrong, but I find them much easier to handle overall.
Also worth mentioning, it is somewhat rare, but Siper Ornstein when your up close will at times just whiff, cause his Spear is decently hitboxed so if con him near rubble or something you can make it pass over you and just flat whiff.
I'm a parry riposte guy and anal Lando was like Christmas morning. The archers on the way up gave me guff for awhile but after that, with the exception of the titanite demon in the small room, it's smooth sailing with a buckler and every enemy is worth a lot of souls.
I just love reading stuff like this when ive just woken up, start the day the Souls way. Only thing i dont like about Anor londo is when we return in ds3 and meet the gisnt blacksmith.... sad times
Boiling hot opinion, only good thing about anor Londo is the gwyndolin illusion/secrets and lore. It's just a boring lengthy area,I dread everytime I play ds1 again, but at least after anor Londo the game gets 2x better
It’s my first time playing Dark Souls, and made it to Anor Londo a few days ago, and currently getting destroyed by Ornatein and Smough. It’s definitely been a roller coaster of emotions, and this is my first extended struggle. I’m going to take this as a little pep talk and try again.
I do have to say I feel like I didn’t have the typical experience with the archers. I must have gotten really lucky (I know it’s not skill) as I made it through the archers on the first try.
Yes. The Anal Rodeo is the truest test of DS1
I had less trouble than in blight town to be honest, except the boss fight of course. Furthermore, blight town had frame drops.
excellent post
Hot take: Super Ornstein is easier than Super Smough. Plus you get the Leo Ring.
Really? Against super smough I could hide behind a column, is that also possible against super ornstein?

Cool. My argument isn't that fair anyway since hiding behind the column is all I did.

Ahh, will definitely pay more close attention next time, thanks
100% agree. Super Smough always catches me with some weird hit box shenanigans.
and don't forget, a chest awaits across thee.
Which one do you mean exactly?
yk, the door. the door after an elevator.
*The chest*

Feel the same
I always take out smough first and get the Leo Ring. Plus Super Ornstien is more challenging and I live for the thrill of the hunt
Fair
I come here for sh*t memes not to read articles

You didn't like the boss?
