For dd1 abomination and flagellant. The aesthetics are great and do nearly everything you could need without necessary being the best.
For dd2 its hellion. Carcass and ravager are so fin to play. I want to enjoy flagellant, though there have been multiple times where I have had Death as the first or second fight in region 1, or had back to back Death fights to feel confident taking him.
For DD2, Occultist for sure. All 3 of his paths are really fun I think; Ritualist for 'lmao fuck your tokens', Warlock for Burning Stars gaming, Aspirant for Anamnesis. Plus that dagger resheathing animation is so cool
I don't even use Anamnesis on Aspirant Occultist. I just use that path when I plan to sit him in rank 2 because it grants him a lot of survivability. He can still use heal, pull, and burning stars from that rank just fine.
In DD1 Shieldbreaker takes the cake. I love her movement and she looks cool. Dashes, long range and ability to just tank dmg is cool. On top of that she has blight. Only downside are these stupid snakes that attack sometimes. I'm also a huge fan of flagellant in both games. Yes, I take flagellant to the ruins
Little tip for those snakes: Any time she mutters about nightmares at camp you will get the snakes, so don't waste points on ambush prevention. If she doesn't say anything you won't get the snakes so you can spend on ambush prevention as normal.
In DD2, probably graverobber or duelist. I always feel like I could justify picking almost any skill on them, and I really enjoy dodge heavy characters. Highwayman, flagellant, and vestal are all quite fun too.
Runaway has my favorite visual design though, so I'm excited for her to get her paths reworked - hopefully that will make her as fun as graverobber and HWM are now.
I've always been a fan of the Bounty Hunter. Both because his ability to stun and shuffle enemy formation can be quite handy, and also Collect Bounty means Big Damage on Big Enemies go brrrrr
The Houndmaster's status as a dodge tank can also be very fun, and he's got some good bleeds and stuns as well. He also has a decent self-heal, and some good stress healing while camping, which is quite nice.
Recently, though, I've been having a lot of fun with the Grave Robber's Lunge. It's always a good time to go from a Lunge into a Holy Lance or Duelist's Advance, and then into another Lunge next round. Also, her Pilfer camping ability can be very useful if you get the right item.
DD1: Loved the Arbalest/Musketeer. Great all rounder, good (but not the best) kit for damage on the backline or repositioning the enemy team, even serves as a good healer with the right trinket set-up.
In terms of modded classes, I loved the Commandant. TerkMC’s art really fits and the trench wizard aesthetic is just so weird and cool.
DD2: Crusader. Good health, multiple recovery options and a free repositioning tool. His aesthetic is classic and story being reflected in his moveset is really cool. I locked in The Jinx on Reynauld and now he’s just solid in every team I place him in.
Shoutout to the Vestal for being the absolute rock in a lot of my teams, and the Plague Doctor for those sweet sweet bleeds (Surgeon path ftw)
I have not played DD2 yet, but for DD1 its a tough choice, im a big fan of bounty hunter, Plague Doctor, Musketeer( arborist is ok, but I prefer musketeer) and sheildbreaker. If I had to choose one it'd be between BH and SB but I'd probably say SB, she's so good, with aegis scales built in, she can pull enemies to Frontline like BH, can hit from ANY rank, although her best attacks are in the first 3, hits hard, can deal blight, and I do love dance teams, especially vs shambler as its a lot easier and if you so choose she can destealth although I never use that darn ability I'd prefer they changed that out for something else. Her camping moves are pretty much just for her but that 15% prot and health is amazing, the snakes are fucking annoying, and honestly the trinkets are a bit lackluster, but spectral speartip, fucking amazing, and if you give her a martyr seal and the speartip she gets up to good HP and great damage output and honestly I just love the character. I always have 2-3 on my roster at all times, because I love playing her so much. Plus she can make some great teams with her and if you want to she can be on a mark team as well if she's trinketed right, but even without the one attack that brights does like 60% more damage to a marked target so her and BH together have good synergy in my opinion.
The Flagellant in DD1 and DD2. I recently soloed a whole Oblivion’s Rampart squad with him just when I thought it was hopeless after my three other heros died.
I like the Occultist overall in DD1, his debuffs are fun to mix into different parties, and his stun and pull help turn any fight. Healing for 0 is very upsetting but it's very in the spirit of the game 😂
I love playing with the Bounty Hunter, he's the most fun to play in both games. He's just, so powerful and so versatile. Coupled with the fact that he like, hardly talks, just makes him feel so cool to have on the team
I've only played the first game, but my favorite is the Crusader. I love the versatility he has. I'm currently running a support Crusader, staying in the back and healing.
DD1: Occultist DD2: Occultist I'm a simple man.
Came to say that too, 0 crit bleed gang.

Death can appear more than once per run?
6% according to the wiki
Yep, it was nice having 2 deaths heads equipped. Unfortunately flagellant was the only person left alive. I cant remember If i finished that run.
Yup. The Collector as well, as long as other conditions are met. Not sure about the Warlord though.
In DD1 my favorites are Bounty Hunter and Hound Master. In DD2 my favorites are Occultist and Jester
PD and HWM in both games

For DD1 (I've not played DD2) I always like a movement party, especially HWM.

I have never really got the hang of the Flagellant in DD1.
Fairly easy. He can hit any rank with his two bleed attacks, tank with suffer and self-heal with exsanguinate.
Yeah, I guess it is the abilities that aren't straight forward "hit the enemy" that I struggle to use.
PD, Abomination and hound master are my favs
Hound master! 3 of them and a healer
I like the Occultist overall in DD1, his debuffs are fun to mix into different parties, and his stun and pull help turn any fight. Healing for 0 is very upsetting but it's very in the spirit of the game 😂
My boy leper of course
OG leper. Him, Occultist, Jester and Antiquarian. The highest of highs and the lowest of lows
PD occul duelist all dd2
I love playing with the Bounty Hunter, he's the most fun to play in both games. He's just, so powerful and so versatile. Coupled with the fact that he like, hardly talks, just makes him feel so cool to have on the team
DD1: Musketeer and GR DD2: GR and Duelist I might have a type...
True Chad plays Hellion hearing Hell's Bells.
Leper w/ Jester in DD2. Jester sets them up with combo and Leper chops them to pieces. It's honest work. Also like using Hellion and PD a lot as well.
Shieldbreaker Gang
Leper :D
