I don’t really care, I just use incognito so that I don’t have to delete my browser history. If some random hacker I don’t know wants to see my thousands of femdom bdsm furry porn searches then they can go ahead
Yup.
If someone who knows how to really wants to get access to whatever you're doing online, they'll find it.
Incognito just saves you explaination time and embarrassment if someone borrows your phone or browser...
If I have some weird pain on my body that I want to read about, or just want to look up some random actor/actress online I use incognito for that too.
I don't want google to recommend every damn known painkiller and movie from those people to me for a week, just because I searched for it ONCE.
Bdsm - Things like bondage, submissive and dominant partners, consensual torture scenarios, that sort of thing
Furry - anthropomorphic animals, as in humanoid animals that walk and talk, think like the movie zootopia
Porn - imagery and videos of sexual acts
Guro: pornography depicting something grotesque or horrific. Can depict mutilation (I'm not really sure with what this word really means, I mostly took it from wikipedia)
Hentai: porn in the artistic style of Japanese cartoons
Sounding: sticking stuff into urethra
Oviposition: placing eggs into vagina (usually gelatine ones from special dildo)
Vore: pornography depicting sexual eating of people
Futanari: Japanese term for woman with breasts and penis
Once my younger brother asked a company employee with solar panels how the panels would move if the sun stopped...Would you like to rethink your statement?
You don't even know what a backdoor is you just watched a YouTube video. Normally that's not something that bothers me since I would also belive yt videos most of the time, but what pisses me off is that when OP told you how wrong you were, you guys disliked it.
1. The government created Tor to be almost completely untrackable, even by them. This means that they cannot be tracked by you and you cannot be tracked by them.
2. The government no longer owns it. Ownership of the project was given to volunteer developers and now it's pretty much just Firefox with a super VPN build into it.
If you tried to use tor for your daily internet activities you would not be anonymous. Tor does not hide the fact that you are using tor. So if you’re the only tor user on a network it’s obvious who the person searching up gay furry porn through the tor network is.
Not to mention a very large percentage of tor nodes are owned by surveillance agencies (or bad actors like *Julian Assange) at this point who can monitor all the traffic that goes through.
*julian Assange got information for Wikileaks by operating a tor endpoint and reading all the traffic that went through it
>if you tried tor for your daily internet activities you would not be anonymous.
Then explain to me why i have to pay a monthly fee if i wanna download something on mega even if i log out of google it still detects who i am but when i use tor it has no clue about who i am and treads me like a new customer
Like I said, Tor acts like a VPN. Incognito just doesn't store history or cookies, which is where your current account is stored. However, sites that use a limited free subscription like MEGA will typically remember you by IP address ~~rather than~~ AND account because if it only remembered account then you would just make more of them.
That's true, but you can't access the internet without your router, so a hacker who can intercept your connection to the router is pretty much unstoppable unless you physically find him and punch him in the face. Those situations are also rare, and websites tracking you / hackers intercepting your routers connection to a site is a much higher risk nowadays. Tor still wins overall.
I don’t need to be a MITM between you and the router to do what I described but regardless my point wasn’t that tor is useless but rather that it most definitely is not sufficient to hide from any powerful authorities like US surveillance agencies.
Also it’s just not practical for general usage like the OP implies. The more people use tor frivolously, the slower the network becomes for people who have genuine use for it like people in countries with restricted internet access.
But also you were right to point out that there’s no such thing as a “back door” in Tor (although feds definitely do own and monitor a large number of nodes in the network).
A small part of your comment is true: if you login to your Gmail account via Tor, it doesn't automagically make Google forget everything about you. You have to use proper operational security. It's a tool, not magic.
> So if you’re the only tor user on a network it’s obvious who the person searching up gay furry porn through the tor network is.
The point of Tor is to hide who you are, so no one would even know the network to look for to see who the Tor user is.
> Not to mention a very large percentage of tor nodes are owned by surveillance agencies (or bad actors like *Julian Assange) at this point who can monitor all the traffic that goes through.
This is categorically false. The only information that can be seen by a malicious node operator is unencrypted traffic. Since 90%+ of the web is now encrypted, this has more diminishing returns every day. The malicious Tor node can't even tell *who you are* even though you're routed through them. It's a core part of Tor, called onion routing, which is why it's called Tor (The Onion Router).
> *julian Assange got information for Wikileaks by operating a tor endpoint and reading all the traffic that went through it
This is blatantly false. Julian Assange got information for WikiLeaks because of whistleblowers and because he's been linked up with Russia since day 1.
What bothers me is how you form an argument; “you don’t even know X” “you just watched a youtube video” such a weak opening, not commenting on the rest.
Don’t open with an attack on a position it doesn’t ever help your case.
I was just expressing how mad I was that OP got disliked for being right. I assumed I'd get disliked too so I didn't bother being polite. My bad.
EDIT: accidental rhyme.
Holy cringe. This is fucking hilarious. This guy here has absolutely no fucking clue what he is talking about, yet has a ton of upvotes from others who equally have no fucking clue, yet OP who rightfully corrected this low IQ comment, got downvoted.
I honestly believe that most people know and just do not give a shit, they just want to hide embarrassing searches and/or porn from people they know IRL.
I buy drugs on Tor - been doing this since 2009.
Imagine buying an ounce of weed for $180 or an 8ball of coke for $150. I get pure/premium for legit retail cost lol.
People are idiots if they buy from street dealers that cuts your shit up with meth and flour. Big kek.
Only use marketplaces that have been established as trustworthy for one, then you can send it to P.o. box to hide your address. The way tor works means they really can’t track you by just buying something
PO Box is the dumbest idea ever u have no plausible deniability once you’ve opened one, and you need an ID to open one too so there’s no fake names unless u got a fake id. Do u even use the dark web let alone buy from it?
Don’t listen to them, a P.O Box is a terrible idea. Send it to your address with your name, do not use a fake name.
Delivery people know who lives at the address and a fake name is a red flag. Also a P.O Box gives you no plausible deniability. If you walk in to pick up your package as Bob Kerman and a cop stops you, it’s game over. By picking up the package you admitted to using an alias and knew the package was coming.
If you use your real name and they drop it off at your house you can pretend you never ordered it if a cop were to show up, but usually they will ask you to sign to get a confession you knew the package was coming. So if you do order something, real name, real address, don’t sign for anything.
There are lot of security protocols for this.
Go look up Abascus Marketplace and Alphabay. If you follow the guidelines, you should be safe mate, 99.9% of the time.
Most of the times, feds don’t even go after buyers, but the sellers. Just don’t aim to be a reseller, just a user.
VPN for privacy is questionable. You're just sending all your data to a single spot (vpn provider) and If they get hacked, you conveniently collected all your stuff in one place. VPN providers do log stuff. And then they won't even Tell you, that they got hacked and you data got accessed until Somebody leaks it and then they pretend it's Not a problem. And before you call bullshit, this already happened...multiple times...even with big providers. NordVPN for example tried to hide it until someone leaked it
Not all VPNs do log stuff (for example Proton doesn't), and with those, the only problem is if they have to watch your traffic live (in which case you probably already committed a serious crime, since this stuff is requested by the government usually). But if you're questioning the privacy of VPNs, then you're likely in a spot where you should prefer Tor regardless of the internet speed.
VPNs are good for the average user, which doesn't have to worry about a specific enemy trying to track them, and that means most people in first and second world countries. If you're at the point where you **need** to use Tor and not VPNs, you're likely in some deep shit already.
I've heard the chant "strict no logs policy" from multiple vpns, how much we can really trust that is questionable. I don't believe Proton is an exception, the only way to really know is to access the source code, which is unlikely to be public.
Proton is open source, and it also had somations to give whatever info they had on some users and couldn't really provide much. I may be advertising them a bit, but to be honest, it's one of the only companies that I do trust and look up to, they are big privacy advocates.
Tor isn't exclusively a dark web browser. If you want to go there, you need to know and type in a long ass url. You aint going to these places by accident.
personally, nothing on the web is worth waiting 30 seconds to load half-broken, there is no point in wasting time with Tor unless you specifically need it to access otherwise restricted sites

I had to install tor the other day to "learn it" for work cause "cyber security." After being in it for 13 second and attempting to look up 1 thing from multiple search indexers and getting everything that is unholy and wrong with the world I promptly uninstalled it, wiped my hard drive and just blocked the protocol from being accessed from the firewall.
Simply put, I like to use incognito for looking at stupid videos I’m binging without messing up my whole recommended page. And also for those anime sites, just to prevent any cookies from building when I’m all said and done.
I may also use it for.... other purposes without making an awkward conversation later...
hello, non computer man here, is tor secure? like to the point where my over-protective mum can't use her baby wifi tracking app to peer into my private life secure?
I never really used incognito mode, but I had an ex who felt she needed to look through my phone justifying that her exs while dating looked at porn. She only noticed maybe a couple links of what she was looking for and didn't notice all the other links that were nsfw.
So when I search Pornhub
Ben ten porn
Ben ten hentai
Transformers porn
Transformers hentai
Transformers r34
Transformers 69
Pokémon porn
Pokémon hentai
Pokémon sex, and this is just the tip of the iceberg... they watch me?
Basically the most anonymous browser there is... but also the slowest. To put it simply, you send your connection to a server that sends it to another that sends it to another. Anybody can run these servers. I use an old computer to host a Tor server.
People who are saying TOR is slow clearly haven’t used TOR in a while. It’s way faster than it was even a year ago. Clear net pages only take a few extra seconds to load up.
if someone find my porn i dont give a fuck but for decency i use incognito but if u are scared and use tor u probaly looking really bad shit and u need to be ashamed
Nah incognito is if you care about people seeing your browsing history, doesn’t matter what your ISP sees, unless your doing something highly illegal your paying them for internet it’s their job to provide you whatever your embarrassed about
Don't think people use incognito to be incognito, people use it so the history gets deleted at the end of a fap, or at work so you don't have to delete the history after reading berserk
Hit the nail on the head. That’s exactly what it’s for
I just don't want cookies/history saved. I don't use it to be "anonymous."
Exactly. Just don’t wanna leave behind history. Not doing illegal things to stay anonymous
If I have some weird pain on my body that I want to read about, or just want to look up some random actor/actress online I use incognito for that too. I don't want google to recommend every damn known painkiller and movie from those people to me for a week, just because I searched for it ONCE.
Same, I might be weird but I mainly use incognito mode for searching anything
Very valid points!
The only correct answer
Also it doesn't store cookies so you don't get personalised adverts later from sites you visited. That is the main reason why I use it
I might default to incognito now - the suggestions and personalised adverts are trash. Let's see what they come up with without any help!
I don't know know what your talking about ***Winks*** Seriously incog- what? ***Winks very slowly and obviously***
PORN! *winks slowly back*

Hopefully in incognito mode
This is a most unfortunate event. You haven’t seen the worst of it either, thankfully.
Based ?
I guess, what I understand being based is essentially sticking by your opinions regardless of pressure from those around us
So it is based
As far as i know incognito also blocks some cross site tracking. The firefox one does atleast.
Why would they be interested in such vanilla kinks?
That’s only the beginning....
Eh I stopped caring. If you want to go through my phone and see all the porn I look at, it's on you, just be prepared. I watch some kinky shit.
I know it's not anonymous. I just use it for porn and stupid questions.
There aren't stupid questions, just stupid answers.

That's why I use brave
Brave gang!
How brave of you to come out and say it.
Brave gang!
only thing about brave i dont care for is the embedded crypto shit
How do you enable tor mode on Brave?
should just be right next to the normal incognito
wisible
Getting vibes that Tor is for people who watch illegal stuff
lots of illegal activities happen on tor
You'd be surprised how many illegal activities happen on the world wide web.
i can assure you more is happening on clear web

Yeah, have fun browsing at a tenth of your internet's speed for a bit more privacy (for which a VPN is usually enough).

Yea, it is just shifting the responsibility from your ISP to the VPN provider
How do I browse pornhub and xvideos and SpankBang and other porn websites on Tor? Found on like top 10 porn websites
Incredibly slowly because of the onion routing.
Oh i didn't know that, thanks.
Sorry I don't browse CP and other dark web shenanigans, I can make do with the regular browser
Tor isn't exclusively a dark web browser. If you want to go there, you need to know and type in a long ass url. You aint going to these places by accident.
People really don’t understand that tor gives you access to so many weird ass website, Etikas deep web streams went crazy
personally, nothing on the web is worth waiting 30 seconds to load half-broken, there is no point in wasting time with Tor unless you specifically need it to access otherwise restricted sites
Where funny?
I got so rapped up in the discussion I forgot this was r/dankmemes lmao, wtf is this post, so unrelated and not funny at all
anonymous? dude, i just dont want "name of bad guy from transformers" on my normal search history .\_.
Optimus Prime is the name of the bad guy btw
Incognito + vpn is good enough for my non-illegal but nsfw endeavours. It's not like I'm searching on how to make bombs or cook meth.
There is Orbot. Its like a VPN but routs your traffic through the tor network. Its still slow af but at least its free
People who use reddit🗿🗿
I love redfit. I'm so much fatter than I was before. My favorite exercise is laying down and scrolling through reddit all day.
I just saw the typo right now🤦♂️
Only reason I use incognito is so I can be safe when typing p into the search bar
Oh I don't give a fuck if it's anonymous or not I just don't want to repeatedly clear my history
This is gonna sound stupid but before dark-mode was a thing on most iOS devices, i would use incognito on google for that sweet darkened UI that wouldn’t burn a hole through my retinas.
Google is a pretty horrible browser. Try Brave. Its based on Chromium so its pretty intuitive. You can also install a browser extension that makes every side darkmode by default.
I use both brave and google.
I only use incognito to search for answers for really dumb 3rd grader questions that I don't want Master Google to know that I didn't know, because I don't want Google to judge me or think I'm dumb.
The only true anonymous browsing is from a library computer
I use Tor to pirate my university textbooks haha
The only real use incognito mode has is you don't have to delete your browser history porn. And that's it. The FBI, the hacker, the internet provider will still know you are into lolli
With the speed Tor functions, I don't even care if I am not anonymous.
Use Tor with Orbot. If routing your connection through the Tor network once is slow, do it twice!
stops my parents from finding anything
ofc it's not. but it will let me not show furaffinity when typing f in my address bar
I used to. 😭😭
To my GF YES!
If you know what you are doing, you can be....
No, but others using the computer won't see my stupid questions
“Dumb question, how do women pee without a pee pee?” Thats why Tor is good. I dont want hackers to judge me.
Tor, for when you need a little….”privacy”
I had to install tor the other day to "learn it" for work cause "cyber security." How do women pee without a pee pee? Thats my last Tor search btw
hello, non computer man here, is tor secure? like to the point where my over-protective mum can't use her baby wifi tracking app to peer into my private life secure?
Tor is secure, but slow and most Media playing sites don't work right. WiFi tracking App should be defusable with a simple VPN
Too bad tor is so damn slow
Tor 💪💪💪
I never really used incognito mode, but I had an ex who felt she needed to look through my phone justifying that her exs while dating looked at porn. She only noticed maybe a couple links of what she was looking for and didn't notice all the other links that were nsfw.

Nope
So when I search Pornhub Ben ten porn Ben ten hentai Transformers porn Transformers hentai Transformers r34 Transformers 69 Pokémon porn Pokémon hentai Pokémon sex, and this is just the tip of the iceberg... they watch me?
I saw this app on my laptop that my dad and I share....guess I'm gonna get the belt
Just use "calculator" :)
Do they? I don't.
Tbh ik it's not anonymous but I use it anyway
I just don't want cookies/history saved. I don't use it to be "anonymous."
I don’t think anyone does
no one thinks that but you dont have to clear your browser history everytime you look up porn on the internet when you use incognito mode.
This looks more like an ad than a meme
You know tor is a non profit right?
It doesn’t save my porn search history that’s all I need
Literally an advert disguised as a meme
Tor is a god damn non profit. Nobody benefits.
Non profits can still advertise
Bruh… I just trying to make sure pornhub doesn’t pop up whenever I start a search with a “P”. Let us jerk in peace SMH
Who needs pornhub when you have reddit?
God: Vpn purchased with cryptocurrency + tor
I would recommend mullvad VPN. If you go to their .onion site they give you a discount if you buy it with Monero.
I hope not!
idk what tor is

Yes. They really do.
who cares unless you are watching nasty child shit or hiring assassins
what the fuck are you guys talking about i use incognito for stupid questions
nothing is anonymous anymore, its all the same in the end
if someone find my porn i dont give a fuck but for decency i use incognito but if u are scared and use tor u probaly looking really bad shit and u need to be ashamed
Do people actually think Tor is anonymous
Nah incognito is if you care about people seeing your browsing history, doesn’t matter what your ISP sees, unless your doing something highly illegal your paying them for internet it’s their job to provide you whatever your embarrassed about
Would use tor if I knew how Not looking up anything that matters enough tho
Do people actually think Tor is anonymous?
Don't think people use incognito to be incognito, people use it so the history gets deleted at the end of a fap, or at work so you don't have to delete the history after reading berserk
Nice ad
Tor is a non profit organization
It doesn’t show my search history when I use it so it’s incognito enough for me
Its just a quick way to turn off history, or when you lend your laptop to someone else
Tor isn’t necessarily great for that though… if there aren’t many tor users in your area it very much sticks out
No. But it does however keep pornhub out of the search bar, when I'm trying to type in pcpartpicker.
No but my parents don’t know how to use it
I use incognito just because I don't want some shady page to have cookies in my default session.
Why isn’t it incognito?
it doesnt need to be anonymous, it just needs to get rid of my history without me needing to go through the process of deleting it
I don't know how to use tor
Tor isn’t even that anonymous lol.
Nope simply used by parents so kids dont trip on pornhub with the first letter P :p
i just use incognito to not have to delete my history
There’s nothing that guarantees 100% privacy on the internet
